"Wearable sensor technology is evolving in parallel with the demand for human activity monitoring applications. According to World Health Organization (WHO), the percentage of health problems occurring in the world population, such as diabetes, heart problem, and high blood pressure rapidly increases from year-to-year. Hence, regular exercise, at least twice a week, is encouraged for everyone, especially for adults and the elderly. An accelerometer sensor is preferable, due to privacy concerns and the low cost of installation. It is embedded within smartphones to monitor the amount of physical activity performed. One of the limitations of the various classifications is to deal with the large dimension of the feature space. Practically speaking, a large amount of memory space is demanded along with high processor performance to process a large number of features. Hence, the dimension of the features is required to be minimized by selecting the most relevant feature before it is classified. In order to tackle this issue, the hybrid feature selection using Relief-f and differential evolution is proposed. The public domain activity dataset from Physical Activity for Ageing People (PAMAP2) is used in the experimentation to identify the quality of the proposed method. Our experimental results show outstanding performance to recognize different types of physical activities with a minimum number of features. Subsequently, our findings indicate that the wrist is the best sensor placement to recognize the different types of human activity. The performance of our work also been compared with several state-of-the-art of features for selection algorithms."

"Environmental crisis is in principal brought about by human activities. Therefore, it is required to exercise new approach towards the environment, that is ethical approach by which principles and moral guidance for human behaviors are put forward. This article is to describe Yusuf al-Qaraḍāwy’s thought of Islamic-ethical concept on environment, and its relevance with the handling of environmental-global crisis. His thought is based on Islamic jurisprudential and ethical values. Values of the former are the followings: planting barren land, keeping cleanliness, cultivation, and forestation, meanwhile those of the latter are the application of al-ihsān concept, being friendly with environment, destructive prohibition, justice, gratitude, and simplicity. Al-Qaraḍāwy’s concept is absolutely appropriate for the prevailing environmental-global crisis. It is hoped that Indonesian Muslims, as majority group, would like to comprehend the concept and to build consciousness of religious way of thinking towards the environment. Hopefully, this concept is workable for coping with the environmental crisis, as well."

"Dengan berkembangnya teknologi, sensor telah menjadi sebuah alat untuk membantu manusia dalam hal apapun, mulai dari kesehatan hingga teknologi. Perkembangan teknologi yang ada saat ini membuat sebuah ponsel cerdas memiliki berbagai macam sensor. Hal ini tentu saja lebih praktis dan nyaman dibandingkan alat sensor yang biasanya tidak nyaman untuk digunakan. Sensor-sensor tersebut nantinya dapat dimanfaatkan dengan mengolah datanya untuk menjadi sebuah Human Activity Recognition.
Penelitian ini akan mengevaluasi sebuah aplikasi untuk menyimpan data sensor dengan menggunakan Android Studio dengan menggunakan Support Vector Machine untuk menentukan keakuratan data. Melalui aplikasi pendeteksi sensor, data akan dikumpulkan dari relawan yang melakukan empat macam gerakan. Gerakan itu terdiri dari berjalan, duduk, berdiri, dan berbaring. Data inilah yang kemudian diolah menggunakan metode SVM yang keluarannya menunjukkan tingkat akurasi pengklasifikasian tiap data sensor.

With the development of technology today, sensors have long been a tool to help humans in everything from health to technology. Fortunately, the current technological developments make a smartphone have a variety of sensors. This is, of course, more practical and comfortable than sensor devices which are usually not comfortable to use. These sensors can later be utilized by processing the data to become an Activity Recognition.
This study will evaluate an application to store sensor data using Android Studio by using Support Vector Machine to determine the accuracy of the data. Through the sensor detection application, data will be collected from volunteers who carry out four types of movements. The movement consists of walking, sitting, standing, and lying down. This data is then processed using the SVM method.

"ABSTRAK
Human Activity Recognition merupakan sebuah teknologi yang penting karena dapat diimplementasikan dalam berbagai kebutuhan manusia sehari-hari, seperti mengenai kesehatan manusia. Tujuan dari Human Activity Recognition adalah untuk mengidentifikasi aktivitas manusia yang umum, dimana data yang diterima dapat diteliti lebih lanjut. Seiring perkembangan teknologi, keberadaan komputer dan smartphone sudah tidak dapat dipisahkan lagi dalam kehidupan dan aktivitas manusia. Perkembangan teknologi ini membuat sebuah smartphone dapat memiliki berbagai jenis sensor. Sensor-sensor yang terdapat pada smartphone dapat digunakan untuk melakukan Human Activity Recognition dengan mudah. Contoh sensor pada smartphone yang dapat digunakan untuk melakukan Human Activity Recognition adalah sensor accelerometer untuk mengukur perpindahan. Penelitian ini membuat sebuah aplikasi berbasis Android untuk membaca input dari sensor, diolah dengan library neural network Long Short-Term Memory, lalu menghasilkan output yang sesuai. Hasil output yang dimaksud adalah kondisi dari aktivitas manusia yang diteliti, yaitu kondisi berdiri, berjalan, berlari, duduk, menaiki tangga, dan menuruni tangga.

ABSTRACT
Human Activity Recognition is an important technology because it can be implemented to many human problems, such as healthcare. The main purpose for Human Activity Recognition is to recognize common, simple human activities, where the data received can be researched further. With the development of technology these days, the presence of computer and smartphone cant be removed from daily human activities. This technology development made a smartphone that has been integrated with all kind of sensors. An example of sensor that can be used to do a Human Activity Recognition are accelerometer to measure movement. This research made an Android-based application that will read input from these sensors, processed by neural network Long Short-Term Memor y library, and finally produced the intended output. The outputs are the current activity of user thats been researched on, such as standing, walking, running, sitting, walking upstair, or walking downstair."

"Dalam ranah ilmu geologi, kandungan polen dalam sedimen dapat digunakan untuk mengetahui pengaruh aktivitas manusia terhadap lingkungan. Hal ini dilakukan dengan merekonstruksi ulang perubahan bentang vegetasi berdasarkan kandungan polen dan spora yang ada di dalam sedimen. Kehadiran charcoal dalam sedimen khususnya yang diambil dari wilayah tropis juga dapat mengindikasikan budaya masyarakat yang berkaitan dengan pembukaan lahan. Umumnya pembukaan lahan di Indonesia dilakukan dengan cara membakar hutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merekonstruksi perubahan bentang vegetasi dan sejarah api yang terjadi pada Kala Antroposen di Teluk Balikpapan, Kalimantan Timur. Pendekatan yang dilakukan dalam penelitian ini yaitu dengan melakukan analisis terhadap data palinologi, charcoal, dan umur absolut berdasarkan metode 210Pb. Terdapat dua belas perconto dengan panjang 110 cm dan interval 10 cm. Berdasarkan analisis yang telah dilakukan, sedimen yang diambil dari Teluk Balikpapan diendapkan pada lingkungan hutan bakau yang ditunjukkan oleh kelimpahan Rhizophoraceae dengan frekuensi yang sangat tinggi. Perubahan bentang vegetasi yang terjadi pada tiap zonasi polen berkaitan dengan aktivitas manusia seperti pembangunan kilang minyak, pertambangan batu bara, pembangunan kota, dan eksploitasi hutan. Sementara sejarah api menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan api di sekitar Teluk Balikpapan sudah cukup intensif sekitar 100 tahun yang lalu yang dipengaruhi oleh kondisi cuaca yang berkaitan dengan peristiwa ENSO (El Niño-Southern Oscillation), IOD (Indian Ocean Dipole), dan Proyek Sawah Sejuta Hektar. Intensitas api yang tinggi berkaitan dengan periode ENSO kuat. Berdasarkan data palinologi dan data charcoal, dapat disimpulkan bahwa perubahan bentang vegetasi dan sejarah api tidak memiliki kaitan.

In the realm of geology, the pollen content in sediments can be used to determine the effect of human activities on the environment. This is done by reconstructing changes in the vegetation landscape based on the pollen and spore content in the sediment. The presence of charcoal in sediments, especially those extracted from tropical areas, can also indicate community culture related to land clearing. Generally, land clearing in Indonesia is carried out by burning forests. This study aims to reconstruct changes in vegetation landscape and fire history that occurred during the Anthropocene in Balikpapan Bay, East Kalimantan. The approach taken in this study is to analyze data on palynology, charcoal, and absolute age based on the 210Pb method. There were twelve samples with a length of 110 cm and 10 cm intervals. Based on the analysis that has been done, sediments taken from Balikpapan Bay were deposited in the mangrove forest environment shown by the extremely high abundance of Rhizophoraceae. Changes in the vegetation landscape that occur in each pollen zone are related to human activities such as the oil refinery construction, coal mining, urban development, and forest exploitation. Meanwhile, the history of fire shows that the use of fire around Balikpapan Bay was quite intensive about 100 years ago which was influenced by weather conditions related to the events of ENSO (El Niño-Southern Oscillation), IOD (Indian Ocean Dipole), and the Million Hectare Rice Project. High fire intensity is associated with periods of strong ENSO. Based on palynological and charcoal data, it can be inferred that there is no connection between changes in vegetation landscape and fire history."

"ABSTRAK
Kemunculan system kereta api Commuter Line mendorong masyarakat untuk mengakses stasiun dan naik kereta, alih-alih menggunakan kendaraan pribadi. Ini membuat stasiun menjadi titik di mana orang-orang dating dan pergi dan mendorong berkembangnya elemen-element perkotaan di kawasan sekitar stasiun seperti bangunan, halte bus, flyover, pagar stasiun, dan bahkan tiang listrik sebagai respon terhadap kehadiran stasiun. Orang-orang mulai membangun berbagai macam fasilitas yang mendukung para pengguna kereta, seperti toko, restoran, area parkir, titik transportasi lain, dan kawasan perumahan. Ketika orang-orang mengokupasi kawaan sekitar stasiun, mereka mulai mencari dan memakai titik-titik yang terbentuk dari elemen perkotaan untuk menunjang aktivitas mereka. Olehkarenaitu, skripsi ini berdasarkan pada fenomena perkembangan tempat-tempat di kawasan sekitar stasiun yang telah menjadi simpul baru di dalam kota. Selanjutnya, berangkat dari fenomena tersebut, observasi pada kawasan sekitar stasiun Commuter Line dilakukan untuk mengetahui bagaimana orang-orang memanfaatkan elemen perkotaan di kawasan tersebut.

ABSTRAK
The presence of the Commuter Line train system encourages people to access the station and catch the train, instead of drive their private vehicles. This makes the train stations become the nodes for people to come in and encourages a development of the urban elements around the station such as buildings, bus shelter, flyover, station rsquo s fence and even electrical poles as the response of the station. People start to build facilities which can support the users of the Commuter Line, such as shops, restaurants, parking area, another transportation nodes, and residential area. When the commuters occupy the station rsquo s surrounding area, they begin to look and utilize the spots that formed from the urban elements to support their activities. Thus, this undergraduate thesis is based on the phenomena of the place development around the station that already become a new nodes within the city. Then, based on the phenomena, an observation of the Commuter Line surrounding area is conducted to understand how people utilize the urban elements in the mentioned area. "
