Abstrak :
Skripsi ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan dan perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa dalam memenuhi dan menunjang penelitiannya dalam hal ini adalah penyusunan skripsi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini adalah Mengetahui kebutuhan dan mengidentifikasi perilaku pencarian informasi mahasiswa tingkat akhir di STIE Indonesia Banking School, serta mengidentifikasi hambatan yang ditemui oleh mahasiswa tingkat akhir dalam pencarian informasi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan penelitiannya. Mahasiswa tingkat akhir STIE IBS dalam memenuhi kebutuhan informasinya dipengaruhi oleh pengalaman individu dan pengaruh yang ada di lingkungan kerja, kemudian perilaku pencarian informasinya bersumber pada koleksi pustaka perpustakaan STIE IBS, jurnal elektronik, dan sukber informasi lainnya. Mengenai hambatan terdapat dalam kemampuan individu untuk mengakses informasi, kemampuan berbahasa kemudian faktor lingkungan yaitu koleksi pustaka. Penelitian ini menyarankan agar mahasiswa dapat secara mandiri melakukan pencarian informasi, baik dalam bentuk fisik perpustakaan ataupun dalam media elektronik. Kemudian untuk perpustakaan diharapkan mengadakan pendidikan pemakai pengguna perpustakaan agar mahasiswa dapat secara mandiri mengakses informasi. ......This thesis aims to determine the needs and information seeking behavior of students in meeting and supporting research in this regard is the preparation of the thesis. This study used a qualitative approach with case study method. Knowing the results of this research is to identify the needs and information seeking behavior of final year students in STIE Indonesia Banking School, as well as identifying obstacles encountered by the final year students in search of information to meet the needs of research. IBS STIE graduate student in meeting the information needs of individuals affected by the experience and influence in the workplace, then the information seeking behavior rooted in the library 39 s reference collection STIE IBS, electronic journals, and other sources of information. Regarding the obstacles present in an individual 39 s ability to access information, the ability to speak and then environmental factors that library collections. This study suggests that students can independently search information, either in physical form or in electronic media library. Then for library users are expected to hold a library user education so that students can independently access information.

Penelitian ini membahas tentang kebutuhan informasi dan perilaku pencarian informasi petani di Desa Cengkong, Karawang, Jawa Barat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi kebutuhan informasi dan perilaku mencari informasi yang dibutuhkan oleh informasi petani di Desa Cengkong. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengetahui hambatan selama proses pencarian informasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan kualitatif pendekatan dengan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa petani pada PT Desa Cengkong dapat mengidentifikasi dan mengungkapkan kebutuhan informasi mereka terutama untuk bantu mereka dengan pekerjaan mereka. Petani dapat mengetahui sumber yang relevan dari informasi, yang dibagi menjadi dua kategori, seperti primer dan sekunder sumber informasi. Di sisi lain, petani belum menggunakan informasi tersier sumber karena tidak tersedianya sumber. Dalam proses pencarian informasi, hambatan berasal dari faktor internal dan eksternal. Internal faktor-faktor termasuk: hambatan bahasa, ketidakmampuan membaca, dan petani yang tidak bisa mendapatkan akses informasi yang tepat karena masalah keuangan. Itu faktor eksternal yang menghalangi petani untuk mencari informasi, termasuk akses terhadap informasi dan ketidakmampuan untuk menggunakan perangkat.

This study discusses information needs and information seeking behavior of farmers in Cengkong Village, Karawang, West Java. The purpose of this study is to identifying information needs and information seeking behavior needed by farmers in Cengkong Village. In addition, this study also aims to determine the obstacles during the information search process. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. The results showed that farmers at PT Desa Cengkong could identify and express their information needs especially for help them with their work. Farmers can find out relevant sources of information, which are divided into two categories, such as primary and secondary sources of information. On the other hand, farmers have not used tertiary information because of the unavailability of sources. In the process of finding information, obstacles come from internal and external factors. Internal factors include: language barrier, reading disability, and farmers who cannot get access to the right information due to financial problems. These external factors prevent farmers from seeking information, including access to information and the inability to use the device.
