In this case of failure of the hydraulic pump, there were three failure mechanisms and sequences where the main failure caused of overpressure due to an increase of oil viscosity as the effect of dirty oil condition. This condition then impacted to work efficiency decrease and asynchronicity rotation of the pump's internal components. The second failure was detachment of the piston because cylinder block and retainer plate were plastically deformed. Then the final failure happened to be brittle fracture of hydraulic pump housing due to the impact of detach piston and accelerated by the presence of stress concentration in the screw section. Broadly speaking, several causes of this hydraulic pump failure were contaminants in the oil and material specifications that are not suitable when compared to standard materials for hydraulic pumps."
