Abstrak :
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Second International Workshop on Multimodal Brain Image Analysis, held in conjunction with MICCAI 2012, in Nice, France, in October 2012. The 19 revised full papers presented were carefully reviewed and selected from numerous submissions. The objective of this workshop is to forward the state of the art in analysis methodologies, algorithms, software systems, validation approaches, benchmark datasets, neuroscience, and clinical applications.

Visual computing for medicine, second edition, offers cutting-edge visualization techniques and their applications in medical diagnosis, education, and treatment. The book includes algorithms, applications, and ideas on achieving reliability of results and clinical evaluation of the techniques covered. Preim and Botha illustrate visualization techniques from research, but also cover the information required to solve practical clinical problems. They base the book on several years of combined teaching and research experience. Abstrak :
The aim of computer-aided surgery (CAS) is to advance the utilization of computers in the development of new technologies for medical services. The Asian Conference on Computer Aided Surgery (ACCAS) series provides a forum for academic researchers, clinical scientists, surgeons, and industrial partners to exchange new ideas, techniques, and the latest developments in the field. The ACCAS brings together researchers from all fields related to medical activity visualization, simulation and modeling, virtual reality for CAS, image-guided diagnosis and therapies, CAS for minimally invasive intervention, medical robotics and instrumentation, surgical navigation, clinical application of CAS, telemedicine and telesurgery, and CAS education. The ACCAS is also interested in promoting collaboration among people from different disciplines and different countries in Asia and the world.

Abstrak :
This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the 5th International Workshop on Biomedical Image Registration, WBIR 2012, held in Nashville, Tennessee, USA, in July 2012. The 20 full papers and 11 poster papers included in this volume were carefully reviewed and selected from 44 submitted papers. They full papers are organized in the following topical sections, multiple image sets, brain, non-rigid anatomy, and frameworks and similarity measures.

Abstrak :
This volume provides a comprehensive overview of recent developments in magnetic particle imaging (MPI), a novel imaging modality. Using various static and oscillating magnetic fields, and tracer materials made from iron oxide nanoparticles, MPI can perform background-free measurements of the particles’ local concentration. The method exploits the nonlinear remagnetization behavior of the particles and has the potential to surpass current methods for the detection of iron oxide in terms of sensitivity and spatiotemporal resolution. Starting from an introduction to the technology, the topics addressed include setting up an imaging device, assessment of image quality, development of new MPI tracer materials, and the first preclinical results.
