Indonesia telah memilih pembangunan industri untuk meningkatan kesejahteraan masyarakat. Pembangunan industri menyebabkan dampak negatif yaitu pencemaran dan kerusakan lingkungan. Permasalahan yang akan dibahas dalam tulisan ini adalah sampai seberapa jauh sertifikasi ISO 14.001 diperlukan bagi pembangunan Industri di Indonesia.

Abstrak :
Hasil produksi yang tidak stabil, yang diakibatkan oleh tingkat cacat produk yang tinggi dan penerapan push system menghasilkan pemborosan-pemborosan seperti, banyaknya jumlah inventori dan jumlah produk cacat, penanganan material yang berlebihan, dan gerakan-gerakan kerja yang tidak perlu. Dalam penelitian ini Value Stream Mapping digunakan untuk memetakan kondisi proses yang aktual, dengan tujuan untuk menemukan pemborosan-pemborosan yang ada. Dari peta lama disusunlah peta baru yang dirancang untuk meminimalkan proses-proses yang tidak menambah nilai pada produk yang dibuat Perilaku dari peta yang baru kemudian diperiksa dengan menggunakan simulasi. Pembuatan Detail Process Chart dari proses yang sekarang berjalan digunakan untuk memahami pemborosan dalam proses penanganan produk cacat yang tinggi. Solusi dari masalah ini dirancang dalam proposed detail process chart sebagai panduan operasi yang baru. Kelebihan dari process chart ini adalah kemampuan dalam menggambarkan langkah proses dengan sangat detail, yang memudahkan untuk menganalisa dan membuat perbaikan terhadap proses yang sedang berjalan. Dari future map yang telah disimulasikan, didapatkan pengurangan production lead time sebesar 60,58%, dan pengurangan waktu pengerjaan 1000 unit produk, sebesar 29,88%. ......Production output variation, that caused by high defect rate and push production system, produces wastes like, high inventory, defect product, poor material handling, and unnecessary motion. In this study Value Stream Mapping used for mapping current process, to find wastes. Future map is build based on current condition, which is designed for minimizes process that not add value to the product, after that the behavior of proposed production system is checked by using simulation. Detail process chart is used for understanding the wastes that related to high defect rate. The solution for this problem is constructed in proposed detail process chart as a new guidance for the operation. This process chart is able to visualize in detail, steps in a process that it will make easier to analyze and propose improvement in current condition. From the simulated future state, we got 60,58% reduction in production lead time, and 29,88% reduction in process time to produce 1000 unit product.

Performans produksi babi dipengaruhi oleh konsumsi pakan. Eksetra puyuh memiliki kualitas tinggi dengan kadar protein kasar dan energi masing-masing 31,03% dan 3139,44 kal/gram sebagai bahan pakan pengganti dalam ransum ternak babi. penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui performans produksi babi keturunan Landrace yang mengkonsmsi pakan subtitusi tepung ikan dengan ekskreta puyuh. Penelitian ini menggunakan 12 ekor ternak babi jantan kastrasi keturunan landrace berumur 2,5 bulan dibagi menjadi 4 perlakuan: (PO) Broiler II, bekatul, tepung ikan; (P1) substitusi 10% tepung ikan dengan tepung ekskreta puyuh; (P2) subtitusi 20% tepung ikan dengan tepung ekskreta puyuh ; (P3) substitusi 30% tepung ikan dengan tepung ekskreta puyuh. Masing-masing perlakuan terdiri dari 3 ekor ternak babi. Variabel yang diamati meliputi pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi pakan, dan konversi pakan. Data dianalisis dengan analisis variansi dengan rancangan acak kelompok pola searah dan menggunakan uji lanjur Duncan's Multiple Range Test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertambahan berat badan, konsumsi pakan; dan konversi pakan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P > 0,05). Penggunaan substitusi tepung ikan dengan ekstra puyuh dalam pakan dianjurkan digunakan sebanyak 20%, karena substitusi eksreta puyuh sebanyak 30% menyebabkan penurunan pertumbuhan.

Abstrak :
Composite of biomaterial for further hard tissue-engineering application was produced by composing HA-200 powder and photopolymer pasta at room temperature for various percent weight of HA-200. Since HA-200 is bioceramic material which is characterized by bioactive, hard and brittle, in the pure condition it is difficult to be formed into a customized geometry at room temperature. Therefore, compossing into a composite form at room temperature would be a better way due to ease of forming and less expensive in processing. Various percent weight of HA-200 i.e. 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40 % was blended with a pasta photopolymer to be a particulate composite and UV light with the wave length of 440-460 nm has been applied to cure the composite into a solid state for less than 1 minute. To observe the composite tensile strength, the specimens were examined by diametral tensile strength (DTS) and scanning electron microscope (SEM). SEM micrographs have shown that the spiky HA-200 was distributed evenly in the matrix of photopolymer.The highest tensile strength (39.2 MPa) was achieved at 10 percent volume of HA-200 and did not give better tensile strength for higher content of HA-200 as suggested by DTS results.

Abstrak :
Layer manufacturing methods have been used widely in many manufacturing industries for building a three dimensional object (3D), however, those methods still need improvement. One example of the improvement is process parameters of the second generation Glue Extruded Deposition (GED-2) developed by the author at the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering UGM. A Surface Response method has been applied to investigate the optimum setting of process parameters include: scanning speed (V), scanning space (s), gap between working table surface and nozzle (h), and heating temperature of material (T). While, a model as a 3D object was a cube and the material for building the object was Ethylene Vinyl-Acetate (EVA) in the form of cylinder with 10 mm diameter and 100 mm long. The results show that the best dimension as recommended by surface response method were 0.8749 mm wide and 0.7035 mm thick. Other reccomendations were excess dimension due to scanning was 0.37 mm long and the best setting of process parameters were h = 0,64 mm, V = 80 mm/minute and T = 94°C.
