"Ketika strategi bisnis berorientasi pada kemampuan menghasilkan produk (production oriented), maka di sini konsumen harus berhati-hati dalam mengkonsumsi barang dan jasa yang ditawarkan pelaku usaha. Konsumen tidak memiliki banyak peluang untuk memilih barang atau jasa yang akan dikonsumsinya sesuai dengan selera, daya beli dan kebutuhan. Konsumsi masyarakat justru banyak ditentukan oleh pelaku usaha dan bukan oleh konsumennya sendiri. Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi dan meningkatnya tingkat pendidikan, meningkat pula daya kritis masyarakat. Sehingga pelaku usaha tidak mungkin lagi mempertahankan strategi bisnisnya yang lama, dengan resiko barang atau jasa yang ditawarkan tidak akan laku dipasaran. Undang-Undang Nomor 8 Tahun 1999 tentang Perlindungan Konsumen antara lain menegaskan, pelaku usaha berkewajiban untuk menjamin mutu barang dan atau jasa yang diproduksi dan atau diperdagangkan berdasarkan ketentuan standar mutu barang dan atau jasa yang berlaku. Dalam hal hak-hak konsumen yang tidak dipenuhi akan mengakibatkan terjadinya sengketa konsumen. Sehubungan dengan itu, diperlukan adanya peraturan-peraturan perundang-undangan pelaksana lebih lanjut sebagai turunan peraturan dari Undang-Undang serta partisipasi dari pemerintah, pelaku usaha serta konsumen untuk menyadari hak dan kewajibannya, sehingga kepentingan para pihak tetap terlindungi. Penelitian ini berkaitan dengan perlindungan hukum terhadap konsumen dan penerapan penyelesaian sengketa konsumen.

When a business strategy oriented for ability to produce or production oriented, then the consumer should be careful when consuming goods and services which is offered by producer/entrepreneurs. Consumers do not have many opportunities to choose the goods or services to be consumed in accordance with their choose, potential and needs. Consumption of the community is largely determined by the Seller and not by consumers themselves. Along with technological developments and the increasing level of education, made community become. So that by producer/entrepreneurs no longer possible to maintain the previous business strategy, with the risk of the goods or services offered will not be sold in the market. Law No. 8 of 1999 on Consumer Protection, entrepreneurs are obliged to guarantee the quality of goods and or services produced and traded under the provisions of standards or quality of goods and or services are applicable. In the conditions consumer rights are not fulfilled will caused consumer disputes. Accordingly, it is necessary implements rules and regulations i regulations further as a derivative of the Act and the participation of governments, businesses and consumers to realize the rights and obligations, so that the interests of the parties is protected. This study relates to the legal protection of consumers and implementation of the settlement of consumer disputes."

"This book will review the current status of the agriculture and agri-food sector in regard to green processing and provide strategies that can be used by the sector to enhance the use of environmentally-friendly technologies for production, processing. The book will look at the full spectrum from farm to fork beginning with chapters on life cycle analysis and environmental impact assessment of different agri-food sectors. This will be followed by reviews of current and novel on-farm practices that are more environmentally-friendly, technologies for food processing that reduce chemical and energy use and emissions as well as novel analytical techniques for R&D and QA which reduce solvent, chemical and energy consumption. Technologies for waste treatment, "reducing, reusing, recycling", and better water and energy stewardship will be reviewed. In addition, the last section of the book will attempt to look at technologies and processes that reduce the generation of process-induced toxins (e.g., trans fats, acrylamide, D-amino acids) and will address consumer perceptions about current and emerging technologies available to tackle these processing and environmental issues.
