"Industri ban luar dan ban dalam Indonesia merupakan salah satu sektor industri yang dipromosikan oleh Kementerian Perindustrian Indonesia. Kementerian Perindustrian menyatakan bahwa industri ban luar dan ban dalam Indonesia memiliki prospek cerah atas profitabilitas yang dapat diraih. Penelitian ini ingin melakukan analisis determinan yang mempengaruhi pembentukan profitabilitas industri ban luar dan ban dalam di Indonesia didasari oleh tingginya tingkat konsentrasi pasar dan adanya indikasi perilaku kolusi yang sedang diproses oleh KPPU yang dilakukan oleh para pengusaha industri ban terkait. Dengan menggunakan PCM sebagai proksi atas profitabilitas, hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa CR4 sebagai tingkat konsentrasi pasar berdampak negatif dan tidak signifikan terhadap PCM. Namun, halangan untuk masuk ke industri ban, intensitas penggunaan kapital, efisiensi-x, dan pertumbuhan demand berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap PCM. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa secara ekonometrika, dugaan adanya kolusi antara pemain di dalam industri ban Indonesia tidak terbukti.

Tire's industries in Indonesia is one of many industrial's sectors that has been promoted by the Indonesian's Ministry of Industries. The Ministry of Industries has been stating that the tire's industries have a good prospect on the profitability's aspect. This research's purpose is to analyze the determinants that affect the profitability on the tire's industries in Indonesia based on the indication of high rate of market's concentration and collusion between the players inside the industry that has been processed by KPPU. Using the PCM's framework as the proxy for the profitability, this research's resulting in the negatively correllated and insignificant CR4 on PCM. But, barriers of entry, capital intensity, x-efficiency, and demand growth has the positive correllation and significant on the PCM. This result shows us that, econometrically says, the suspicion about collusion between the players inside the tire's industry in Indonesia can't be proven.

Indonesia merupakan negara kepulauan terbesar di dunia dimana lebih dari 2/3 wilayahnya merupakan perairan dan tersebar lebih dari 17.000 pulau sehingga kapal memegang perananan penting dalam meningkatkan konektivitas antar pulau dan pemanfaatan sumber daya maritim Indonesia. Kenyataanya tranportasi laut di Indonesia masih memprihatinkan, industri perkapalan Indonesia saat ini yang hanya memiliki market share kecil sekali, baik di dunia maupun di pasar domestik itu sendiri. Oleh kerena itu tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui determinan daya saing industri perkapalan Indonesia, dimana saja kelemahannya dan mencari alternatif kebijakan untuk menaikan daya saing industri perkapalan Indonsia. Penelitian ini merupakan studi eksplorasi yang bersifat kualitatif dan menggunakan data primer berupa wawancara mendalam dan data sekunder yang disajikan secara deskriptif dengan mengacu kepada Model Berlian Porter dan analisis SWOT. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa sebenarnya industri perkapalan kita mampu dan berpotensi besar untuk dikembangkan dan berdaya saing. Penelitian ini juga mengungkapkan ancaman/hambatan yang harus di segera diatasi sehingga dapat menaikan kekuatan dan meminimalkan kelemahan industri perkapalan Indonesia.

ABSTRACT
Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world which more than 2/3 of the area is water and spread over 17,000 islands makes vessels play an important role in improving connectivity between the island and the Indonesian maritime resource utilization. In fact marine transportation in Indonesia is still cause for concern, supported by the Indonesian shipbuilding industry conditions today were just grabbing market share of small, both in the world and in the domestic market itself. The purpose of the study is to examine the determinants of competitiveness of Indonesian shipbuilding industry, anywhere weaknesses and seek alternative policies to increase the competitiveness of the shipbuilding industry in Indonesia. This research is qualitative descriptive purposes and uses both primary data form of in-depth interviews and secondary data. The results showed that in fact the shipping industry we are able to and has great potential for development and competitiveness be seen from the analysis of Porter's Diamond Model and SWOT Analysis. Semakin bergantungnya perusahaan kepada penyedia jasa truk untuk melakukan operasi transportasi, masalah seperti keterlambatan pengiriman dan kenaikan biaya transportasi domestik pun bermunculan dari pemilihan penyedia sewa truk yang tidak efisien. Karena itulah penting untuk mengevaluasi dan dan memberi peringkat pada penyedia jasa sewa truk berdasarkan nilai efisiensi mereka sebagai dasar untuk keputusan pengiriman dan alokasi penyedia sewa truk untuk tiap wilayah. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) dengan minimum weight restriction merupakan metode yang tepat untuk memberi peringkat pada penyedia sewa truk karena metode ini cenderung mencari satu set bobot yang sama untuk seluruh DMU untuk membuat mereka dapat diberi peringkat secara keseluruhan, hal ini memiliki arti bahwa seluruh penyedia sewa truk diberi peringkat pada keadaan yang sama.
Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah peringkat dari penyedia jasa sewa truk yang direpresentasikan dalam sampel rute. Meskipun di beberapa wilayah peringkat di masing-masing rute berbeda, secara garis besar, rute-rute ini tetap dapat merepresentasikan peringkat dalam tingkat wilayah. Peringkat pada tiap wilayah dapat digunakan untuk melihat kekuatan masing-masing penyedia jasa vendor truk yang kemudian dapat dijadikan basis dalam pemilihan dan perencanaan pemilihan penyedia sewa truk.

Companies become solely dependent on truck vendors to execute its transportation operation, problems like late shipments and increased domestic transportation cost arise from the decision in choosing inefficient vendors. Thus, it’s increasingly important to evaluate and rank every truck vendors based on their efficiency scores as a foundation for shipment decision and vendor’s region allocation. Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with minimum weight restriction is an appropriate tool to rank the truck vendors because it tends to seek a common set of weights for all DMUs to make them fully ranked, which means all truck vendors are being ranked in the same condition.
The result of this paper is the ranking of all truck vendors which will be presented in the route samples. Although in some regions, the ranking on each route is different, overall, they can represent the ranking in the regions. "Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pola perdagangan dan diversifkasi ekspor serta pengaruhnya terhadap pertumbuhan dan volatilitas output sektor industri manufaktur di Indonesia periode 2000-2010 menggunakan estimasi Sistem Generalized Methode of Moment (GMM). Diversifikasi ekspor dalam penelitian ini mencakup diversifikasi produk (horizontal dan vertikal) dan pasar ekspor.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan:
Pertama, terjadi pergeseran tujuan ekspor produk manufaktur di mana tujuh dari sepuluh negara tujuan ekspor utama, telah mengadakan perjanjian dagang dengan Indonesia.
Kedua, terjadi penurunan tingkat diversifikasi pasar dan produk horizontal ekspor, sedangkan diversifikasi produk vertikal ekspor mengalami peningkatan.
Ketiga, peningkatan diversifikasi pasar dan produk horizontal ekspor berkorelasi negatif dengan pertumbuhan sedangkan diversifikasi produk ekspor vertikal berkorelasi positif terhadap pertumbuhan output.
Keempat, diversifikasi pasar ekspor dapat menurunkan volatilitas output.
Kelima, diversifikasi produk horizontal ekspor berkorelasi positif dengan volatilitas output. Hal ini terjadi seiring meningkatnya peranan penerimaan ekspor bagi industri sehingga menurunnya permintaan ekspor akan mengurangi volume ekspor, mengurangi keuntungan produsen, menurunkan harga dan memperburuk Term of Trade (ToT) sehingga volatilitas output meningkat.
Terakhir, diversifikasi produk vertikal ekspor tidak berpengaruh terhadap volatilitas output karena lemahnya struktur industri dan integrasi vertikal dalam sektor industri manufaktur Indonesia.

The objective of this research is to analysis the trade and export diversification pattern and its impact on output growth and volatility of manufacturing industry sector in Indonesia on period of 2000-2010 use System Generalized Method of Moment (GMM) estimation. Export diversification consists of export product (horizontal and vertical) and market diversification.
The result shows that:
First, there were markets shifting of manufacture product which is dominated by seven countries which had having trade agreement with Indonesia.
Second, market and product horizontal export diversification were decreasing but product vertical export diversification was increase.
Third, export market and horizontal product diversification negatively correlated with output growth whereas vertical product diversification positively correlated.
Fourth, export market diversification has negative impact on output volatility.
Fifth, diversification of product horizontal export positively correlated with output volatility.
Finally, export vertical product diversification has no impact on output volatility because of weakness of vertical integration and manufacturing industry structure."

Dalam upaya membangun industri elektronika nasional, agar mampu menghasilkan produk ?produk berdaya saing tinggi,diperlu kan faktor?faktor pendukung seperti strategi dan kebijakkan yang diambil pemerintah, pelatihan dan pendidikan sumber daya manusia, jaringan pemasaran luar negeri, distribusi dan suplai komponen, pencapaian skala ekonomi dengan tingkat harga dan kualitas yang sesuai standar international, akses terhadap teknologi modern, serta fleksibliitas terhadap perubahan kebutuhan dan teknologi. Untuk hal itu kerja sama dengan mitra asing melalui invet tasi langsung masih sangat diharapkan untuk mengatasi kendala - kendala tersebut, disamping penggunaan merek global untuk mendapatkan citra produk yang berkualitas internasional.
Pada banyak negara, penggunaan proteksi pemberian insentif untuk R&D, pembelian pemerintah, partisipasi langsung dengan menggunakan perusahaan negara dan kontrol terhadap investasi asing banyak digunakan oleh pemerintah untuk mengembangkan industri elektronika. Walaupun upah buruh yang murah masih menjadi faktor andalan untuk menarik arus investasi asing ke Indonesia, namun kelangkaan akan tenaga kerja terampil, kebijakan tarif dan pajak yang belum harmonis, lemahnya dukungan dari industri komponen elektronika dalam negerl yang membuat produk elektro nika Indonesia sangat tergantung pada kompoen Impor menjadi penghalang arus investasi dalam Industri elektronika.
Besarnya investasi, tingginya teknologi yang dlgunakan serta tidak adanya proteksi membuat keengganan melakukan inves tasi dalam industri komponen elektronika. Lemahnya posisi tawar-menawar dari produsen elektronika Indonesia terhadap mitra asiingnya, maslh merupakan faktor kendala dalam meningkatkan kandungan lokal dan produk elektro nika . Walaupun komponen sudah dapat dibuat di Indonesia namun jaminan kualitas komponen masih meragukan pihak pninsipel."
