"Salah satu cara orang tua berinvestasi pada pendidikan anak adalah dengan memberikan alokasi pendidikan. Tidak hanya alokasi pendidikan yang berkaitan dengan akademik, alokasi di luar akademik juga ikut berperan penting pada kelangsungan sekolah anak. Penelitian ini menggunakan data dari IFLS 4 dan 5 serta model regresi probit untuk melihat bagaimana jenis alokasi pendidikan berpengaruh pada keberlanjutan sekolah menengah. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa jenis alokasi pendidikan memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan secara positif pada kemungkinan anak melanjutkan sekolah menengah di tingkatan yang berbeda. Alokasi akademik yang terdiri dari pengeluaran untuk pendaftaran, SPP, perlengkapan sekolah, dan kursus lebih berpengaruh pada kelanjutan sekolah SMP sederajat, sedangkan alokasi non akademik yang terdiri dari pengeluaran untuk transportasi dan uang saku anak lebih berpengaruh pada kelanjutan sekolah SMA sederajat. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga melihat bahwa bantuan sekolah belum dapat menjamin keberlanjutan sekolah menengah di semua tingkatan.......One way for parents to invest in their children's education is by providing education allocations. Not only educational allocations related to academic but non-academic allocations also play an essential role in the continuity of children's schools. This study uses data from IFLS 4 and 5 and a probit regression model to see how the type of education allocation affects the continuity of children's secondary schools. This study found that the type of education allocation had a significant positive effect on the likelihood of children continuing secondary school at different levels. Academic allocations consisting of expenditures for registration, tuition fees, school supplies, and courses have more effect on the continuation of junior high school, meanwhile non-academic allocations consisting of expenses for transportation and children's pocket money have more effect on the continuation of senior high school. In addition, this study also sees that school assistance does not guarantee the continuity of secondary school at all levels."
