Sears, Barry
"No one wants to get old or show the signs of age. In fact, for centuries many have searched for, and often promised, the fountain of youth. So what makes The Anti-Aging Zone different?
In this new, breakthrough book. Dr. Sears goes beyond looking at food as simply a source of calories and explains the incredibly powerful biological effects it has on your hormones. From this unique perspective, food is more than a source of sustenance; it becomes the most powerful drug known to man. More important, it is the only drug proven to reverse the aging process. In addition to unraveling the mysteries of your hormones and their role in aging, Dr. Sears reveals the essential dietary information you need to start your own age-reversal journey. Using his simple and easy-to-follow program, you will be able to live longer and live better beginning with your very next meal.
As Dr. Sears explains, the aging process isn't caused as much by the depletion or lack of hormones as we get older, but rather by their impaired ability to communicate with each other. Little-known "super-hormones" called eicosanoids can reestablish the critical communications links between your hormones, which is the key to age reversal. The brilliance of this anti-aging approach is that these exceptionally powerful super-hormones can be altered by the foods you eat, and, in particular, by the Zone Diet.
Your body is a vast, complex biological Internet whose hormonal communication can be orchestrated with great precision by the Zone Diet. Hormones from melatonin to serotonin, from estrogen to testosterone, from cortisol to DHEA, can all be controlled if you are willing to treat food with the same respect as you would any prescription drug. Ultimately, hormonal miscommunication is the underlying cause of many conditions associated with "getting older" such as insomnia, wrinkles, dry and dull skin, waning sex drive, depression, chronic pain, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer. Using The Anti-Aging Zone as your guide, you can look and feel better that you ever imagined.
Millions of people like you are now facing the hard realities involved with getting older. Dr. Sears separates the hormonal hype from reality and gives you the necessary tools to add years to your life and improve your appearance. The Anti-Aging Zone is your passport to a longer and better life."

Adolescence is a critical period for growth, and proper nutrition is essential for adequate development. Factors such as increased media exposure, body image pressures, and cultural influences put adolescent females at a higher risk of developing unhealthy eating attitudes, potentially leading to eating disorders. This mixed-method clustered randomized control (cRCT) study focuses on the impact of the Nutrition Goes to School (NGTS) program on the eating attitudes of adolescent girls in Jakarta. The NGTS program, an environmental approach involving teachers, canteen staff, school gardeners, and students, seeks to promote social change and improve nutrition knowledge, attitudes, and practices in teenagers. Baseline measurements in January 2024 quantified sociodemographic information, nutrition knowledge, and BMI, along with baseline Eating Attitudes Test (EAT-26) to categorize the respondents to high- and low-risks of eating disorders in ten schools in Jakarta based on region. Focused Group Discussions (FGD) and In-Depth Interviews (IDI) via WhatsApp followed to triangulate the baseline EAT-26 scores to identify and compare drivers of high-risk and low-risk eating attitudes. NGTS intervention was gradually provided around the end of February 2024, and end-line measurements (n= 278) were conducted in May 2024 to compare within and between-group differences. Qualitative data were reported based on the biopsychosocial framework. The control and intervention group distribution sample numbers were comparable except for regions in Jakarta, age, and extracurricular activeness. Both groups had similar baseline knowledge (0.0-16.0) and EAT-26 scores (0.0-75.0); FGD found themes relating to individual, familial, and social factors where there were similarities in practice but differences in attitudes. End-line data collected data from three intervention and four control schools. Comparisons between baseline and end-line revealed significant improvements in EAT-26 scores (0.0-51.0) and NGTS knowledge scores (2.0-18.0) compared to the baseline, but no significant differences were found between the high and low-risk EAT-26 categories. Qualitative data explored individual, familial, and social factors behind their eating attitudes. There were many shared practices, including meal skipping and food guilt, among others. However, attitudes differed, with high-risk girls focusing on calories, food dichotomy, and body image, whereas low-risk girls focused on their hunger cues, schedules, and preferences. The NGTS program had an impact on improving the eating attitudes in the intervention group of adolescent girls in Jakarta, and there was a better improvement in the intervention group than in the control group."

Eades, Michael R
"Lose weight, feel fitter, lower your cholesterol, and enjoy the foods you never thought you'd eat again! A rasher of bacon, a juicy steak, a wedge of cheese, a buttery omelet...Now, a team of pioneering doctors shows you how their groundbreaking, protein-rich eating plan succeeds where low-fat diets fail-- to help you take off the weight and achieve optimal health naturally, without counting fat grams, without worrying about fat percentages, and without going up the foods you love! Finally, a diet you can live with that works.
PROTEIN POWER
Based on cutting-edge research, this revolutionary, medically sound, deliciously satisfying plan has already helped thousands of patients lose weight and achieve other lifesaving health benefits, including lower cholesterol and blood pressure readings and an improvement or reversal of common disorders such as heart disease, adult-onset diabetes, and gout. Developed by Doctors Michael and Mary Dan Eades, the simple regimen calls for a new way of eating: a protein-rich, moderate-fat, low-carbohydrate diet that will have you feeling better and more energetic within a week, and correct blood sugar levels, high blood pressure, and elevated cholesterol within three weeks.
Here, the Eades show you why their plan is so potent: how it works with your body's metabolic biochemistry; how it brings powerful metabolic hormones, including insulin, into balance; and why this balance is necessary to achieve permanent weight loss and free you from reliance on costly and dangerous medications to control blood pressure and cholesterol.
Divided into two phases, one for those who need to lose 20 percent of their body weight or more, and the other for those closer to their ideal weight who simply wish to recompose their muscle-fat ratio and embark on a healthier lifestyle, the Eades' regimen relies on a tasty, filling, nutritionally complete diet that even allows for the consumption of alcohol-- in moderation. Their breakthrough system of counting carbohydrates gives you many more food options than other low-carbohydrate programs. And they accompany their diet with an invaluable program of strength-building exercises and tips for maintaining motivation. To help you put their plan into action."
