Office politics are often seen as the unethical manipulations of ruthless people. This text sheds light on office politics and shows readers how to keep up by using them in powerful, approriate ways that will keep their integrity intact.

Anyone who works in an office probably has to deal with at least some people who are so different they might as well be from another planet. These differences can lead to conflict or - if handled properly - to a greater appreciation of others and a more productive workplace. The secret to getting along lies in understanding the different personality traits people exhibit and how to relate to them.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat pengaruh negatif dari persepsi politik organisasi terhadap komitmen organisasi dan organizational level of trust dan juga peran mediasi dari organizational level of trust di antara persepsi politik organisasi dan komitmen organisasi. Dalam penelitian ini, proses pengumpulan data menggunakan survey/kuesioner. Objek penelitian ini terdiri dari 120 karyawan yang terdiri dari karyawan tetap dan karyawan non tetap pada tingkat rendah hingga menengah di salah satu perusahaan swasta lokal yang bergerak dalam bidang riset pemasaran. Dengan menggunakan uji mediasi pada SPSS versi 20, penelitian ini memberikan hasil temuan bahwa persepsi politik oganisasi memiliki pengaruh negatif terhadap komitmen organisasi, serta memiliki pengaruh negatif terhadap organizational level of trust. Sementara itu, organizational level of trust memediasi secara penuh hubungan di antara persepsi politik organisasi dan komitmen organisasi. Dengan demikian, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa adanya pengaruh tidak langsung dari persepsi politik organisasi terhadap komitmen organisasi karena dimediasi oleh variabel kepercayaan karyawan. Karenanya kehadiran kepercayaan di dalam organisasi dibutuhkan oleh perusahaan dalam situasi politik di tempat kerja untuk meningkatkan komitmen karyawan terhadap organisasi.

This study contains the impact of perceived organizational politics to organizational commitment and organizational level of trust. This study also examines the mediating role of organizational level of trust between the relationship of perceived organizational politics and organizational commitment. The process of collecting data in this study with survey questionnaire. Object of this study is 120 employees, such as permanent empolyees and temporary empolyees at low to medium level in one of the local private company in marketing reseach. By using mediation test in SPSS version 20, this study showed that perceived organizational politics has negative influence on organizational commitment, and also has negative influence on organizational level of trust. Meanwhile, organizational level of trust fully mediates the relationship between perceived organizational politics and organizational commitment. Thus, this study found that indirect effect of perceived organizational politics to organizational commitment because mediated by organizatonal level of trust. Therefore, the presence of trust in the organization is required by the company in the political situation in the workplace to improve employee commitment to the organization.
