ABSTRAK
Penelitian ini meneliti pengaruh lingkungan organisasi dan bagaimana hal itu menciptakantekanan untuk perubahan di Garuda Indonesia, carrier local Indonesia. Tekanan dari kedualingkungan internal dan eksternal mempengaruhi keputusan CEO untuk perubahan dalam suatuorganisasi. Oleh karena itu, hasil dari perubahan dapat menyebabkan konvergensi atauperubahan reorientasi. Metodologi dari penelitian ini melalui studi pustaka dan kasus. Hasilpenelitian menunjukkan bahwa Garuda Indonesia menghadapi tekanan yang berbeda darilingkungan internal dan eksternal dalam lima periode waktu yang berbeda, yang dipengaruhiperan dan keputusan para CEO untuk membuat perubahan konvergensi dan perubahanreorientasi.
ABSTRAK
This research examined the influence of organizational environment and how it created pressurefor change in Garuda Indonesia, the flag carrier of Indonesia. Pressures from both internal andexternal environment affected the CEO decisions for change in an organization. Hence, theoutcome of change may lead to convergence or reorientation change. A literature and case studyis conducted for this research. Results showed that Garuda Indonesia faced different pressuresfrom internal and external environment in five different time periods, which influenced the roleand decision of the CEO rsquo s to create both convergence and reorientation change.
