Abstrak :
Implementasi konservasi nilai material perlu dilakukan pembuktian melalui riset untuk menentukan pengaruh pada sifat plastik seperti sifat optik dari campuran plastik tulen dan plastik daur ulang. Sifat optik plastik seperti warna, transparansi dan gloss adalah parameter penting untuk kualitas yang sesuai dari kemasan plastik. Degradasi sifat optik terjadi selama proses daur ulang dari material plastik dan penurunan sifat dari produk daur ulang dapat ditingkatkan dengan pencampuran material tulen. Riset ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan pengaruh dari daur ulang bertahap terhadap sifat optik dari campuran polipropilena tulen dan polipropilena daur ulang berdasarkan paradigma konservasi nilai material. Langkah pertama dari riset ini adalah menentukan komposisi dari campuran polipropilena tulen dan polipropilena daur ulang. Proporsi 70% polipropilena tulen dan 30% polipropilena daur ulang dipilih sebagai komposisi campuran. Langkah selanjutnya dari riset ini adalah daur ulang bertahap dari campuran polipropilena tulen dan polipropilena daur ulang dengan implementasi konservasi nilai material sampai 8 tahapan daur ulang. Spesimen campuran plastik dibuat dari daur ulang pertama, kedua, keempat dan kedelapan, kemudian sifat optiknya diuji dengan metode American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM). Secara umum, tingkat degradasi dari sifat optik akan meningkat selama proses daur ulang. Hasil pengujian mengungkapkan sedikit perubahan sifat warna. Degradasi sifat gloss secara bertahap meningkat dengan tingkat degradasi maksimun pada tahap daur ulang kedelapan sebesar 17,46%. Sedangkan transparansi memiliki tingkat degradasi maksimum pada tahap daur ulang keempat sebesar 20,93%. Ini berarti campuran plastik dapat digunakan sebagai bahan baku yang layak berdasarkan sifat optik dengan perhatian lebih pada gloss. Selanjutnya, implementasi konservasi nilai material akan memberikan manfaat lebih yaitu memperpanjang siklus hidup produk daur ulang, mengurangi pemakaian plastik tulen, optimalisasi penggunaan limbah plastik dan mengurangi timbunan limbah plastik. ......Implementation of material value conservation (MVC) needs to be proven through research to determine impact upon plastic properties such as optical properties of virgin plastic and recycled plastic blends. Optical properties such as color, transparency and gloss are important parameters for appropriate quality of plastic packaging. Degradation of optical properties occurs during recycling processes of plastic materials and the declining properties of recycled products could be improved by blending them with virgin materials. This research aims to reveal the impact of repetitive recycling on optical properties of virgin and recycled polypropylene (PP) blends based on MVC paradigm. The first step of this research was to determine composition of virgin PP and recycled PP blends. Proportion of 70% virgin PP and 30% recycled PP was selected as a blend composition. The next step of this research was repetitive recycling of virgin PP and recycled PP blends with implementation of MVC up to the 8^th recycling stage. The specimens of plastic blends were made from the 1^st, 2^nd, 4^th and the 8^th recycling stages and then their optical properties were tested with the American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) methods. Generally, degradation level of optical properties will increase during the recycling processes. Testing results show a slightly change of color properties. Degradation level of gloss properties is gradually increased by a maximum degradation level at the 8^th recycling stage as 17.46%. However, transparency had a maximum degradation level at the 4^th recycling stage as 20.93%. It means that the plastic blends can be used as viable raw materials based on their optical properties with more attention to the gloss. Furthermore, the implementation of MVC will provide more benefits through extending the life cycle of recycled products, reducing virgin plastic consumption, optimizing the use of plastic waste and reducing plastic waste generation.

Industri kemasan fleksibel yang kian berkembang menuntut produsen untuk selalu berusaha mengurangi biaya akibat produk cacat. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Six Sigma untuk mengkaji masalah kecacatan dan memberikan perbaikan pengendalian kualitas dengan cara mereduksi cost of poor quality (COPQ). Studi kasus dilakukan pada perusahaan kemasan fleksibel XYZ di Indonesia dengan adopsi pendekatan DMAIC. Setelah melakukan tahap define dan measure, dengan menggunakan prinsip 80/20, secara kumulatif insiden pada printing mewakili 79% total insiden kecacatan. Tahap analyze dilakukan untuk menemukan akar penyebab masalah yang berkontribusi pada peningkatan insiden kecacatan printing. Rekomendasi yang dibuat selama tahap improve adalah untuk merancang sistem pengendalian kualitas yang meningkatkan pemeliharaan yang baik pada lantai produksi. Penerapan rekomendasi diperkirakan dapat menghasilkan penghematan biaya hingga 48% selama periode yang dianalisis. ......The growing flexible packaging industry requires producers to try to reduce costs due to defect. This research applies Six Sigma method to assess the problem of defect and provide quality control improvements by reducing the cost of poor quality (COPQ). A case study was conducted at XYZ flexible packaging companies in Indonesia with the adoption of the DMAIC approach. After carrying out the define and measure stages, using the 80/20 principle, the cumulative incidence of printing represents 79% of total disability incidents. The analyze phase is carried out to find the root causes of problems that contribute to the increased incidence of printing disabilities. The proposed recommendations during the improvement phase is to design a quality control system that improves good maintenance on the production floor. Implementation of the recommendations will result in potential cost saving of up to 48% over the analyzed period.

Peran penting kemasan pada dewasa ini mulai berkembang tidak hanya sebagai pelindung produk, namun juga memudahkan penggunaan, penyaluran informasi, dan membantu meningkatkan pemasaran produk. Munculnya bisnis penyewaan mainan anak secara online mendorong kebutuhan akan kemasan yang dapat menjalankan fungsi utamanya sekaligus menarik bagi konsumen. Maka dari itu, penelitian dilakukan terhadap kotak kemasan mainan yang disewakan untuk mengetahui desain yang paling sesuai dengan preferensi konsumen. Penelitian menggunakan indeks potential gain in customer value untuk mengetahui atribut yang paling membutuhkan perbaikan, semantic differential sebagai skala pengukuran preferensi desain per atribut, dan analisis choice-based conjoint agar memperoleh model desain akhir kemasan sesuai yang paling disukai oleh konsumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa atribut yang membutuhkan peningkatan performa antara lain informasi produk, ukuran tulisan, orientasi atau posisi elemen, kemudahan dalam membawa kemasan, warna kemasan, dan gaya grafis. Penelitian juga menyimpulkan bahwa desain kemasan yang paling disukai oleh konsumen yaitu kemasan yang memiliki cutout handle, jenis presentasi informasi produk visual, campuran warna pada kemasannya kontras, gambar produk simplified, bentuk gambar hiasan natural, dan posisi informasi produk yang berada di bagian atas suatu sisi kemasan

ABSTRACT
The important roles of pakaging today have began to develop not only to protect product, but also to ease the use of product and packaging, distribution of information, and help the product rsquo s marketing. The emergence of the online toy rental business stimulate the need of packaging that can perform its main function and appealing to consumers. Therefore, a research is conducted on the toys renting packaging boxes to determine the most suitable design according to consumer preferences. The study uses an index of potential gain in customer value to determine the most crucial attributes that should be improved, semantic differential as a measurement scale of design preferences of each attribute, and choice based conjoint analysis in order to obtain a model of the final packaging design according most favored by consumers. The results showed that the attributes that require performance improvements are product information, font size, orientation or position of elements, ease of carrying the packaging, packaging color, and graphic styles. The study also concluded that the packaging design which is most preferred by the consumers are a packaging that has a cutout handle, visual presentation of product information, contrast color mix, simplified product images, natural ornament shape, and the information products position is located at the upper side or top of a packaging rsquo s side.
