"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini berusaha untuk menggambarkan pelaksanaan kegiatan pemeliharaan dan pelestarian khususnya ruang dan koleksi di Perpustakaan Kementerian Tirta, Wisma, dan Marga dan faktor apa saja yang mempengaruhi perpustakaan dalam melaksanakan kegiatan pelestarian koleksi di Perpustakaan Kementerian Tirta, Wisma, dan Marga. Pendekatan penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif menggunakan metode studi kasus dengan teknik pengumpulan data berupa wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan studi dokumen. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Perpustakaan Kementerian Tirta, Wisma, dan Marga berada di lokasi yang strategis tetapi sulit untuk ditemukan karena tidak ada tanda petunjuk di mana ruang perpustakaan berada. Selain itu, ruang Perpustakaan Kementerian Tirta, Wisma, dan Marga ini didisain secara menarik agar pengunjung menjadi nyaman berada di dalamnya. Pelaksanakan kegiatan pemeliharaan ruangnya dengan cara mengecek kondisi ruang perpustakaan secara berkala dan melaporkannya jika terjadi kerusakan, sedangkan kegiatan pelestarian koleksi hanya sebatas fumigasi, fogging, dan digitalisasi. Adapun faktor penghambat yang mempengaruhi kegiatan pelestarian yang dihadapi oleh Perpustakaan Kementerian Tirta, Wisma, dan Marga adalah kurangnya dana, sumber daya manusia, dan kesadaran akan pentingnya pelaksanaan kegiatan pelestarian. Faktor pendukungnya adalah ruangan yang fleksibel agar mudah dalam kegiatan pelestarian dan pemeliharaan dengan kesimpulan Perpustakaan Kementerian Tirta, Wisma, dan Marga telah melaksanakan kegiatan pemeliharaan ruang dan pelestarian koleksinya walaupun belum maksimal karena masih terdapat masalah seperti tidak adanya kebijakan yang mengatur soal pemeliharaan ruang dan pelestarian koleksi. Ruang perpustakaan yang harus dipelihara dengan baik agar tidak menimbulkan kerusakan yang berdampak pada koleksi serta menggangu pelestarian koleksi perpustakaan.

ABSTRACTThis research seeks to illustrate the implementation of maintenance and preservation activities, especially space and collection at the Ministry of Tirta, Wisma, and Marga Library, and what factors that influence the library to do the collection preservation activities in the Ministry of Tirta, Wisma, and Marga Library. The approach of this research is qualitative approach using case study method with data collection technique such as in depth interview, observation, and document study. The results showed that the Ministry of Tirta, Wisma, and Marga Library are in a strategic location but difficult to find because there is no sign of where the library space is located. In addition, the Library Room of Ministry of Tirta, Wisma, and Marga is designed attractively so that visitors become comfortable in it. Conducting maintenance activities for the space are done by checking the condition of the library space on a regular basis and report it if there is any damage, while the preservation activities collection is limited to fumigation, fogging, and digitization. The inhibiting factors affecting preservation activities faced by the Ministry of Tirta, Wisma, and Marga Library are the lack of funds, human resources, and awareness of the importance in implementing preservation activities. The supporting factor is the space rsquo s flexibility for easy preservation and maintenance activities with the conclusion that Ministry of Tirta, Wisma and Marga Library has carried out the activities of space maintenance and the preservation of the collection although not yet maximal because there are still problems such as the lack of policies that regulate the maintenance of space and the preservation of collections . Library space that must be maintained properly so it will not cause damage that affects the collection and disrupt the preservation of library collections."

Penelitian ini membahas tentang preservasi arsip foto yang dilakukan oleh Kantor Arsip Universitas Indonesia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengidentifikasi proses kegiatan preservasi arsip foto yang dilakukan Kantor Arsip Universitas Indonesia. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif. Proses pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi pustaka. Dari penelitian ini diketahui bahwa Kantor Arsip Universitas Indonesia melakukan kegiatan preservasi arsip foto yang mencakup kegiatan penanganan, perawatan dan penyimpanan. Penanganan meliputi kegiatan identifikasi kerusakan fisik arsip, melepas arsip foto dari album, mengelompokkan foto berdasarkan kronologis atau subjek peristiwa, digitalisasi arsip foto ke dalam SEKAR UI, inventarisasi arsip foto ke dalam SEKAR UI, memasukkan fisik arsip ke dalam amplop kertas, memasukkan amplop yang berisi arsip foto ke dalam boks arsip yang sudah diberi judul dan klasifikasi. Kegiatan perawatan meliputi pembersihan fisik arsip secara berkelanjutan. Adapun penyimpanan dilakukan pada suhu 16°C dan kelembaban 35%, selain menyimpan dengan menggunakan rak berbahan besi. Kantor Arsip UI juga memasang APAR (Alat Pemadam Api Ringan) untuk mitigasi kebakaran, dan CCTV sebagai bentuk kontrol keamanan terhadap tindakan pencurian atau vandalisme terhadap arsip foto.

This study discusses the preservation of photographic archives conducted by Universitas Indonesia Archive Office. The purpose of this study is to identify the process of photographic archives preservation activities undertaken by the Universitas Indonesia Archive Office. This research is a qualitative research. The process of collecting data is conducted through observation, interviews, and literature study. From this research, it is revealed that Universitas Indonesia Archive Office undertakes the process of photgraphic archive preservation activities by including handling activities, maintenance and storage activities. Handling includes identifying physical damage of the photographic archive, removing the photographic archive from the album, grouping them according to chronological or subject matter, inventorying the photographic file into SEKAR UI, inserting the physical file into a paper envelope, and then inserting the envelope into the file box which has already been given a title and classification. Maintenance activities include continuous physical cleaning of archives. The storage is carried out at a temperature of 16 ° C and a humidity of 35%. Other forms of storage is using iron based shelves. The Universitas Indonesia Archive Office also installed an APAR (Light Fire Extinguisher) for fire mitigation, and CCTV as a form of security control against theft or vandalism of photographic archives.
