"The book offers a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of key issues in perinatal mental health. Classic topics such as screening, assessment, pharmacological, psychological and psychosocial interventions of the most common conditions (depression, anxiety disorders, etc.) are combined with lesser known issues, such as mother-infant relationship disorders or thoughts of infant-related harm and aggressive behaviors, sleep disturbances in puerperium, obsessional disorders, fetal death etc., paying particular attention to specific groups of perinatal patients like mothers with cancer, adolescents, fathers, migrants, and preterm babies. The chapters written by health professionals working in hospitals, community services or voluntary agencies alternate with contributions from researchers whose fields of expertise include biology and neuroscience, diagnosis and special needs, treatment and prognosis, etc., striking a balance between scientific investigation and clinical practice. The book offers a valuable tool for a wide range of professionals like psychiatrists, psychologists, gynecologists, midwives, oncologists, pediatricians, and social workers, who want to improve their clinical practice and the effectiveness of their treatment pathways using evidence from perinatal health research"

Background: The prevalence of children with HIV / AIDS continues to increase every year in the world or in Indonesia. Caregivers of children with HIV / AIDS are at risk for psychopathtology such as anxiety and depression. This study aims to evaluate relationship between coping mechanisms and psychopathology in caregivers of children with HIV / AIDS.
Methods: Assessment on 107 caregivers of children with HIV / AIDS at the The Allergic Immunology Pediatric Outpatient Clinic, Dr. Ciptomangunkusumo National Referral Hospital Jakarta. Coping mechanisms assessed by the instrument Brief -Coping Orientation to Problems Experienced (Brief-COPE) to evaluate the types of coping mechanisms and coping mechanisms categories. Psychopathology was assessed by the instrument Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90).
Results: There was no relationship statistically significant between the types of coping mechanisms and psychopathology, but there is a significant correlation (r = -0.291) between categories of coping mechanisms and psychopathology. Of the 107 caregivers of children with HIV / AIDS found 29 (27.1%) experience psychopathology. Most psychopathology are somatic and depression.
Conclusion: Type of coping mechanism (emotional and problem focused coping) was not associated with psychopathology. Categories coping mechanism that shows how many levels of coping mechanisms weakly correlated with psychopathology. The more numerous and diverse coping mechanisms used by caregivers of children with HIV / AIDS, the lower the occurrence of psychopathology and conversely the less diverse coping mechanisms used by caregivers, the higher occurrence of psychopathology. Skills of coping mechanisms need to be improved through psychotherapy and psychoeducation for caregivers of children with HIV / AIDS."

"This is the standard reference for clinical practice in the mental health field. Since a complete description of the underlying pathological processes is not possible for most mental disorders, it is important to emphasize that the current diagnostic criteria are the best available description of how mental disorders are expressed and can be recognized by trained clinicians. The classification of disorders is harmonized with the World Health Organization's International Classification of Diseases (ICD), the official coding system used in the United States. The disorders included in DSM-5 were reordered into a revised organizational structure meant to stimulate new clinical perspectives. This new structure corresponds with the organizational arrangement of disorders planned for ICD-11 scheduled for release in 2015. Other enhancements have been introduced to promote ease of use across all settings, including: Representation of developmental issues related to diagnosis; Integration of scientific findings from the latest research in genetics and neuroimaging; Consolidation of autistic disorder, Asperger's disorder, and pervasive developmental disorder into autism spectrum disorder; Streamlined classification of bipolar and depressive disorders; Restructuring of substance use disorders for consistency and clarity; Enhanced specificity for major and mild neurocognitive disorders; Transition in conceptualizing personality disorders; New disorders and features; Online enhancements.-- Publisher description."
