ABSTRACT
Controlling pH is one important factor in the industry as it aims to keep the desired pH value to match the quality standard. PH control in this research is using SIMULINK to describe simulation process of mixing weak acid and water with the addition reagent. Controller used are PI and PID controllers because they are widely used in the industry and has high efficiency. Optimal control parameters which has minimum IAE value least on each variable. In this research, the variation data are acid concentration, change set point, and the slow response of the transfer function. At acid concentration 1.0e-7 mol/l IAE minimum value achieved is 88 when use PI controller. And the acid concentration of 1.0e-2 minimum IAE values achieve when using PID controller with the value of IAE is 1,158.12.

Summary: "Employing the widely adopted MATLAB and Simulink software packages, this book offers the scientific and engineering communities integrated coverage of continuous simulation and the essential prerequisites in one resource. It also provides a complete introduction to the Real-Time Workshop. The text takes the reader through the process of converting a mathematical model of a continuous or discrete system

Simulation has become the preferred approach for engineers and scientists who design complex systems because it allows them to test whether a system design meets all necessary performance standards. This book provides an introduction to computer-aided system design with Simulink, a robust, accurate, and easily used simulation tool. The author takes readers on a tour of the Simulink environment that shows how to develop a system model and execute the design steps needed to make the model into a functioning design laboratory. Included along the way are the mathematics of systems: difference equations and z transforms, ordinary differential equations (both linear and nonlinear) and Laplace transforms, and numerical methods for solving differential equations. Because specific applications require specific tools, the author introduces additional software packages that work within the Simulink environment. The Signal Processing Blockset extends Simulink into the areas of both analog and digital signal processing; Stateflow is used for state charts and signal flow for modeling event-driven systems; SimPowerSystems handles physical modeling, in particular the modeling of electrical circuits including power systems, motor drives, power generation equipments, and three-phase power transmission lines; and SimMechanics develops models of mechanical systems such as robots. In total, the author covers over 70 applications taken from several disciplines, and he describes numerous tested, annotated, and reusable models and blocks to help readers apply the book material to their own applications.

Gives the reader hands on example-base experience for simulating dynamical models in MATLAB®/simulink® and animating them in VRML. More than 150 images describe each step in the model realizations helping readers to understand them visually. Diverse examples and profound problem treatment enable the reader to animate complex dynamical problems m-files, Simulink models, VRML files and jpegs available for download provide full solutions for the end-of-chapter problems Virtual Reality and Animation for MATLAB® and simulink® Users demonstrates the simulation and animation of physical systems using the MATLAB® virtual reality toolbox (virtual models are created in V-realm builder). The book is divided into two parts; the first addresses MATLAB® and the second Simulink®. The presentation is problem-based with each chapter teaching the reader a group of essential principles in the context of a step-by-step solution to a particular issue. Examples of the systems covered include mass-spring-dampers, a crank-slider mechanism and a moving vehicle.
