"besides physical test normally, early detection on the condition of the body by using the image processing of iris is an alternative method to observe the health of human's body, especially the internal organ of the body. in this paper, some image processing methodes are used to enhance the quality of iris image so that the problem that happens in area of pancreas can be detected clearly. the problem is represented by the form of broken tissue in iris. by using genetic programming, this iris image will be used as an input of an artificial intelligence system in detecting the internal organ disorder. the result of this detecting will be compared with the insulin normally test"

"ABSTRAK
A significant share of the U.S federal R&D budget is devoted to large-scale, complex technological system commonly referred to as "big science". Over the last two decades, these systems have continued to grow in size, complexity, development time, and cost. At the same time, political changes in the US, particulary the concern over goverment spending and the federal budget deficit, have made it more difficult for proponents to secure and preserve support for these programs over their (increasingly long) lifetimes. Using the U.S space shuttle and space station programs as examples, the article shows that the political requirements for obtaining approval and funding for large and expensive research and development projects create conditions that reduce the likelihood that they will succeed technologically. The problems of technology-based projects like those of the US space program are in fact deeply rooted in the American political process itself. "

"Dehydration effects on gelatin films of the D96N mutant bacteriorhodopsin (BR) and wild-type BR were studied. Unlike the wild-type BR films, wherein dehydration to 12% humidity results in an approximate 200-fold increase in the lifetime of the M state, D96N BR films dehydrated to the same extent have been shown to exhibit only a 17-to-20-fold increase in the lifetime of the M state. Chemically-enhanced D96N BR films possess a total bleaching efficiency of the initial-to-M-state transition that is close to theoretical maximum (1.0) over a wide range of relative humidity (35 to 85%). This provides an additional benefit to the D96N BR films as a material for storage and retrieval of optical information."

"ABSTRAK
The photocatalytic decolorization of real textile wastewater using pine wood (PW), bamboo (BB) and coconut shell (CS) charcoals TiO2-coated under UV irradiation were investigated. Biomass charcoals TiO2-coated were synthesized by the sol-gel and dip-coating technique. The structure features of biomass charcoals TiO2-coated were investigated by X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). our finding indicated that XRD data characteristic anatase phase reflections and SEM showed that TiO2 thin films distributed in the pores and cover on biomass charcoals. BB-TiO2 and CS- TiO2 showed high covering films of TiO2 on surface and filled full in the small pores but PW- TiO2 still had many large pores. decolorization of real textile wastewater using photocatalytic process was measured by Space Unit Method; S.U. with UV-VIS spectrophotometer. the photocatalytic tests indicated that decolorization of biomass-TiO2 were CS-TiO2, BB-TiO2 and PW-TiO2, respectively. details of the synthesis of biomass charcoals TiO2-coated and results of the characterization and decolorization studies are presented in this paper."
