Pemilihan mainan berdasarkan jenis kelamin anak memiliki dampak penting pada perkembangan pemahaman anak tentang jenis kelamin dan keterampilan anak-anak. Penelitian saat ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki korelasi antara sikap peran gender, stereotip gender untuk mainan, dan keinginan mainan. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan sikap peran gender pada ibu yang bekerja dan yang tidak bekerja. Sampel dari sembilan puluh sembilan ibu yang bekerja dan 108 ibu yang tidak bekerja (N = 207) dengan anak-anak berusia 3-5 tahun yang tinggal di wilayah Jabodetabek berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Pearson Correlation menunjukkan korelasi yang signifikan antara sikap peran gender dan stereotip gender (r = 0,364, p <0,05), keinginan mainan untuk mainan sesama jenis (r = 0,142, p <0,05), dan keinginan mainan untuk mainan netral (r = -.203 p <0,05). Stereotip gender juga menunjukkan korelasi yang signifikan dengan keinginan mainan untuk sesama jenis (r = 0,374, p <0,05) dan mainan netral (r = -.299, p <0,05). Tidak ada korelasi signifikan yang ditemukan untuk sikap peran gender dan keinginan mainan untuk mainan seks lintas jenis, serta stereotip gender dan keinginan mainan untuk mainan seks lintas jenis. Uji t sampel independen menunjukkan perbedaan yang signifikan dalam sikap peran gender antara ibu yang bekerja dan tidak bekerja (t = 3,422, p <0,05, dua ekor) di mana ibu yang bekerja menunjukkan sikap peran gender yang lebih egaliter. Hasil penelitian ini melibatkan sosialisasi tentang gender yang dilakukan oleh orang tua melalui mainan anak-anak.

ABSTRACT
The choice of toys based on the sex of the child has an important impact on the development of children's understanding of gender and children's skills. Current research aims to investigate the correlation between gender role attitudes, gender stereotypes for toys, and toy desires. This study also aims to look at differences in attitudes of gender roles in working and non-working mothers. A sample of ninety-nine working mothers and 108 non-working mothers (N = 207) with children aged 3-5 years who live in the Greater Jakarta area participated in this study. Pearson Correlation showed a significant correlation between attitudes of gender roles and gender stereotypes (r = 0.364, p <0.05), the desire of toys for same-sex toys (r = 0.142, p <0.05), and the desire of toys for neutral toys ( r = -.203 p <0.05). Gender stereotypes also showed a significant correlation with same-sex toys (r = 0.374, p <0.05) and neutral toys (r = -.299, p <0.05). No significant correlations were found for gender role attitudes and toy desires for cross-sex sex toys, as well as gender stereotypes and toy desires for cross-sex sex toys. Independent sample t test showed significant differences in gender role attitudes between working and non-working mothers (t = 3,422, p <0.05, two tails) where working mothers showed more egalitarian gender role attitudes. The results of this study involve the socialization of gender conducted by parents through children's toys.
