"Karya akhir ini mempunyal tiga tujuan utama yaitu mengoptimumkan jumlah persediaan (inventory) bahan baku (raw material) dan local manufactured finished goods di Divisi Otomotif PT 3M Indonesia, meningkatkan net working capital inventory turn dengan melakukan perbaikan pada proses perencanaan produksi serta melakukan proyek Six Sigma untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang paling berpengaruh dalam mencapai kedua tujuan diatas untuk selanjutnya dilakukan perbaikan dan proses kontrol. Menurut Peter S. Pande dan Neuman P. Robert (2000) kunci sukses dari Six Sigma adalah kemampuan untuk mengidentifikasi masalah bisnis yang kritis dan strategis untuk dipecahkan terlebih dahulu kemudian menciplakan hubungan (link) antara usaha yang harus dilakukan melalui proyek Six Sigma dengan hasil yang harus dicapai.
Pemecahan masalah yang diterapkan pada karya akhir ini dengan metode DMAIC, langkah-langkah yang harus dilakukan dalam setiap tahap adalah:
1. D (Define): Pada tahap ini dilakukan identifikasi terhadap permasalahan jumlah persediaan dan perencanaan produksi pada divisi otomotif. Metodologi Six Sigma diharapkan dapat mengurangi jumlah persediaan (inventory) tanpa mengorbankan pertumbuhan bisnis yang tinggi di divisi tersebut. Pembatasan masalah dilakukan hanya pada proses production planning dan inventory control (PPIC) divisi otomotif dengan potensi kesalahan adalah nilai jumlah persediaan pada bahan baku dan local manufactured finished good yang terlalu besar.
2. M (Measure): Pengukuran kemampuan awal menunjukkan walaupun pertumbuhan penjualan pada periode tersebut sangat baik namun karena peningkatan jumlah inventory yang juga cukup besar mengakibatkan perputaran jumlah persediaan (inventory turn over) memiliki kecenderungan menurun. Langkah penting yang juga dilakukan pada tahap pengukuran ini adalah aktivitas MSA (Measurement System Analysis) untuk memastikan kelengkapan dan konsistensi data yang digunakan.
3. A (Analyze): Tahap yang harus dilalui dalam langkah ini adalah analisa terhadap potensi kegagalan yang mungkin terjadi melalui FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis). Seluruh variabel dari FMEA selanjutnya dilakukan uji statistik Multi Vari untuk memastikan semuanya berpengaruh signifikan terhadap jumlah persediaan sehingga harus diperhitungkan dalam proses perbaikan.
4. I (Improvement): Perbaikan yang dilakukan diantaranya adalah mengusulkan dibuat proyek Six Sigma baru yang dipimpin oleh seorang green belt dalarn rangka implementasi sistem manajemen persediaan yang lebih terintegrasi melalui MRP (Material Requirement Planning) dan MPS (Master Production Schedule), menghilangkan penggunaan surat jalan sementara serta menciptakan alat bantu untuk menganalisa pergerakan jumlah persediaan dan penjualan dalam bentuk graIlk sehingga mempermudah pengambilan keputusan.
5. C (Control): llntuk memastikan semua proses perbaikan berjalan dengan baik dibuat rencana kontrol (control plan). Selain itu perlu dibuat sistem audit yang memadai melalui Reaction Plan untuk memastikan kapan audit berkala harus dilaksanakan dan siapa yang bertanggung jawab untuk melakukan audit.
Ada tiga perrnasalahan utama dalam jumlah persediaan Divisi Otomotif PT 3M Indonesia:
1. Jumlah persediaan (inventory) yang terlalu besar pada bahan baku (raw material),
2. Jumlah persediaan (inventory) yang terlalu besar pada produk jadi yang diproduksi di dalam PT 3M Indonesia dan dijual langsung ke OEM yang sering disebut Local Manufactured Finished Goods,
3. Kurangnya koordinasi antar bagian yang terlibat dalam proses perencanaan produksi sehingga mengakibatkan bagian perencanaan harus menyediakan jumlah persediaan (inventory) dalam jumlah besar untuk mengantisipasi permintaan dari pelanggan.
Dalam hal ini bahan baku (raw material) merupakan komposisi terbesar dari keseluruhan jumlah persediaan sehingga akan dilakukan pendekatan Six Sigma untuk mengurangi jumlah persediaan khususnya pada raw material dan local manufactured finished goods.
Divisi Otomotif mengalami kenaikan inventory turn over dari Juni 2005 sampai Agustus 2005. Pengurangan jumlah persediaan dan penjualan yang sangat baik pada periode tersebut merupakan faktor utama kenaikan inventory turn over. Hal ini juga menggambarkan barangbarang di Divisi Otomotif bergerak Iebih cepat mulai dari bahan baku hingga produk jadi dan langsung dikirim ke pelanggan. Pertumbuhan penjualan pada periode tersebut sangat baik dan di sisi lain jumlah persediaan bisa dikurangi.
Secara keseluruhan kinerja bisnis di Divisi Otomotif melampaui target yang ditetapkan perusahaan. Jumlah persediaan (inventory) untuk barang-barang yang dikategorikan dead stock dan excess stock pada Divisi Otomotif cenderung menurun karena permintaan pasar yang sangat besar. Diharapkan dengan keberhasilan proyek Six Sigma pada Divisi Otomotif akan merupakan jembatan untuk manajemen persediaan yang Iebih terintegrasi.
Hasil dari karya akhir ini berguna bagi perusahaan khususnya PT 3M Indonesia adalah untuk menunjukkan walaupun belum memiliki sistem manajemen persediaan yang terintegrasi namun dengan metodologi Six Sigma berhasil mengurangi jumlah persediaan (inventory) dalam jumlah yang cukup besar. Di masa yang akan datang diharapkan karya akhir ini menjadi jembatan untuk implementasi perencanaan persediaan yang terintegrasi melalui MRP dan MPS sehingga akan sangat membantu operasional sehari-hari dari bagian perencanaan produksi (PPIC) di Divisi Otomotif PT 3M Indonesia.

There are three purposes for this thesis, the first is to get optimum value for inventory in raw materials and local manufactured finish goods especially in Automotive Division PT 3M Indonesia, the second is to increase net working capital inventory turn over with improvement in production planning and inventory control and the third is to conduct Six Sigma project in order to identify and control key factor that affect inventory and net working capital. According to Peter S Pande and Neuman P Robert (2000) key success factor from Six Sigma is ability to identify critical and strategic business problems to be solved first and then create a link between the effort through Six Sigma project and the result to be accomplished.
Problem solving method applied to this thesis is DMAIC methodologies with specific steps are as Follow:
1. D (Define): This step is to identify basic problems in inventory and production planning process in Automotive Division. Six Sigma methodologies is able to decrease the inventory value and support business growth in that particular industry. The scope of problem is only focus on the production planning and inventory control for Automotive Division dealing with excessive raw materials and local manufactured finish good items.
2. M (Measure): Initial capabilities measurement shows that even the sales volume in Automotive Division grew rapidly, unfortunately the inventory turn over has declined because of the inventory has also raised significantly. The most important things to do in this stage is MSA (Measurement System Analysis) to conduct check audit on calculation and data consistency
3. A (Analyze): Analysis is important to identify failure mode and Failure effect on the key process input. This step identifies potential caused and current controls for the key process input as well. FMEA analysis reduced key process input and conduct multi variable statistical test to ensure that the key process input might affect inventory management significantly.
4. I (Improvement): Action taken in improvement step is proposed to assign green belt project to accommodate integrated production planning and inventory system by implementing Bill of Materials. The system would help implementing BOM and help finance to easily calculate the Work in Process material. Create a simple excel based material replenishment planning to help PPIC calculating the materials needed for production. As a result of Six Sigma project observation, temporary delivery order will be eliminated. Warehouse will no longer receive temporary delivery order, so all the orders will need to be recorded into the order system AS 400 first.
5. C (Control): Control step is taken to make sure all process running well and have control plan accordingly. Created audit system to ensure proper audit conduct regularly to answer following question: Who conduct the audit? When the audit plan? All control process and audit should be documented very well.
The thesis result is useful for PT 3M Indonesia and proved that being committed to monitor and follow-up is very important to monitor the inventory status. Even though PT 3M Indonesia does not have an integrated system in production planning and inventory control, Six Sigma project can reduce the inventory a lot. The suggestion is to support growth in Automotive Industry demanding an integrated system is important. It will help a lot in implementing some inventory management plans.

"In January 2005, to continuously improving and delivering the customer value, which helping customers and distributors to meet their needs and satisfaction, Company XYZ distributes the VOC (Voice of Customer) to Distributor ABC as a Local Distributor of Company XYZ in Indonesia for Specialty Chemicals Products. The feedback from Distributor ABC indicates that one key point, which considered as very important and prioritized to be improved by Company XYZ is the Order Lead Time.
As the response, Company XYZ in Indonesia, lead by Distributor Coordinator of Company XYZ initiates and performs this Six-Sigma Project to reduce the Order Lead Time. Order Lead Time is defined as the amount of time required from the submitted Purchase Order (PO) by Distributor ABC to the time the Distributor ABC received the order. The term and condition of the Order from Distributor ABC to Company XYZ is Free On Board (FOB) Singapore. The scope of the project will be limited to the Consumable Products imported from Manufacturing/Blending Plant located at China, which contribute about 75% of total products ordered by Distributor ABC.
The Distributor ABC expects to have fast and on time delivery, in order to have a better management of local inventory in Indonesia, and reducing the inventory level in the warehouse that in return will significantly reduced the inventory cost. To anticipate late delivery to the End Customer, Distributor ABC provides 3 months of inventory level at the warehouse in Indonesia.
To find the best solution on how to reduce the Order Lead Time, the problem solving methodology of Six-Sigma DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control) has been using as a tool to find the source of variation, solving the problem, and improving the existing process. The project is based on the baseline data from October 2004 to March 2005 and project implementation from April to September 2005.
The Six-Sigma Project result shows that the major problem was occurred due to the availability of the raw material in Company XYZ Blending Plant at China and the availability of products in the Warehouse of Company XYZ at Singapore and China. Thus, as the consequences, the products should be produced "Just in Time" at the Blending Plant in China that obviously prolongs the Order Lead Time, especially when the raw material is not available.
Based on the result of Six-Sigma Project, the best solution to reduce the Order Lead Time and to manage the inventory Control is by using a Forecast Order. Forecast Order will help Company XYZ to manage and provide buffer stock at Singapore and China Warehouse and also prepare the raw material in the Blending Plant at China. Since the products are available in the Company XYZ Warehouse, the Order Lead Time to Distributor ABC could be reduced.
The implementation of Forecast Order and inventory management has been giving a significant impact on the Order Lead Time. The implementation of the Forecast Order in April till September 2005 shows that the Order Lead time can be reduced from the average of 45 days to 17 days. Distributor ABC is also able to reduce the inventory level at the warehouse in Indonesia from 3 months to 1 month. The inventory cost could be reduced by approximately 73%."

Tesis ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan bagaimana penerapan Six Sigma di PT SKF Indonesia serta melakukan perbaikan proses bisnis di area produksi PT SKF Indonesia dalam menurunkan waktu resetting di CH 2, 3 & 4 menggunakan metodologi Six Sigma. Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengikuti tahapan yang ada dalam DMAIC serta menggunakan tools Six Sigma untuk memperbaiki proses resetting. Untuk menguji perbaikan yang telah dilakukan, digunakan metode statistik untuk membandingkan data sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan Normality Test dan Two Sample T-Test. Penelitian ini dilakukan dalam kurun waktu Januari hingga Juni 2015 dimana data baseline diambil dari Januari ? Maret 2015 dan improvement dilakukan mulai April 2015 dimana pengukuran waktu resetting setelah perbaikan dilakukan dari April ? Juni 2015. Pada akhirnya, penerapan Six Sigma ternyata mampu mengurangi waktu resetting di CH 2, 3 & 4 dari 4,7 jam menjadi 3 jam. Pengurangan 1,7 jam ini jika dikalikan dengan jumlah resetting di tahun 2014 dan dikalikan dengan rate per hour production line maka akan memberikan pemasukan sebesar 4,2 Miliar dan sebagian dari pemasukan tersebut dapat dijadikan sebagai insentif bagi operator pelaksana resetting untuk memberi semangat sehingga improvement yang telah dilakukan akan terus berjalan;

The study was conducted by following stages in DMAIC and using Six Sigma tools to improve the process of resetting. To test the improvements made, statistik method was used to compare data before and after using normality Test and Two Sample T-Test. This research was conducted in the period January to June 2015 where baseline data taken from January to March 2015 and improvement conducted from April 2015 in which the measurement time resetting after the repair is done from April to June 2015. In the end, the application of Six Sigma was able to reduce the time resetting in CH 2, 3 & 4 from 4.7 hours to 3 hours. "CV Expand Jaya Perkasa adalah perusahaan bergerak dibidang distribusi branded FCMG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods). Perusahaan ini ingin meningkatkan pencapaian service level pada proses pengirimannya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian dilakukan untuk memperoleh usulan perbaikan rantai suplai yang dapat digunakan sebagai masukan untuk peningkatkan pencapaian service level.
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan Lean Six Sigma dan Vehicle Routing Problem. Tahapan penelitian yang dilakukan terdiri dari tahap define, measure, analyze, improve, dan control. Pada tahap define dilakukan pengumpulan data perusahaan, diagram SIPOC, service level, diagram alir proses, data mobil, data pengiriman, diagram sebab akibat, dan penentuan tujuan.
Pada tahap measure dilakukan pengukuran kapabilitas proses, DPMO, tingkat sigma, clan pengukuran proses pengiriman.
Pada tahap analyze dilakukan identifikasi pemborosan EDOWNTIME dan analisa pemborosan lebih lanjut dengan menggunakan 5W+1H.
Pada tahap improve dilakukan perbaikan rantai suplai dari sistem kerja dan sistem transportasi.
Perbaikan sistem kerja dilakukan dengan pendekatan seiri, seiton, seiso, dan perbaikan alur proses pengiriman. Sedangkan perbaikan sistem transportasi dilakukan dengan pendekatan Vehicle Routing Problem. Pada tahap control dilakukan pengontrolan implementasi tindakan perbaikan yang dilakukan.

CV Expand Jaya Perkasa is a company which have a role in distribution of branded FCMG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods). This company want to improve service level on delivery process. Therefore, the experiment was done have a goal to get a recommendation of supply chain improvement which can be used to increase the service level.
This experiment was done with Lean Six Sigma and Vehicle Routing Problem approach. The step of experiment which be done consisted of define, measure, analyze, improve, and control step.
At define strep was done colleted company's data, SIPOC diagram, service level, process flow diagram, cause and effect diagram, and determination of goal.
At measure step was done measurement of capability process, DPMO, sigma level, and process delivery. At analyze step was done identification of EDOWNTIME waste and the next step of analyze with 5 Wf 1 H.
At improve step was done supply chain improvement on working system and transportation system.
The improvement of working system was done with seiri. sexton, seiso approach, and improvement of delivery process flow. The improvement of transportation system was done with Vehicle Routing Problem approach. At control step was done controlling of improvement which be done.

"Hasil pengukuran tingkat produksi minyak harlan well test di lapangan minyak Oyong memiliki perbedaan yang eukup besar dengan hasil pengukumn yang dilakukan di FSO Shanghai. Hasil pengukuran well test digunakan oleh Santos untuk membuat model karakteristik umur yang salah satu kegunaannya untuk mernperkirakan cadangan minyak yang ada di reservoir, Di sisi lain, angka yang dilaporkan pengukuran FSO Shanghai. Perbedaan ini menyebabkan perbedaan perkiraan masa produksi la.pangan minyak Oyong menurut Santos dan pemerintah RJ. Penelitian yang dilakukan da1am tesls ini mencoba menganalisa penerapan metodologi Six Sigma untuk memperbaiki proses pengukuran well test dan dampaknya terhadap reputasi perusahaan Santos. Penelitian ini menggunakan data primer yang diperoleh dengan melakukan wawancara dengan karyawan dan data sekunder yang diperoleh dari buku, internet dan dokumen perusahaan.

The results of well testing measurement in order to get the daily oil production rate conducted in Oyong field show quite significant differences with the ones held in FSO Shanghai. Well test data is used by Santos to model the characteristics of reservoir which can be used to forecast the oil volume. Meanwhile, the oil production rate reported to government use the FSO Shanghai data. This data differences can lead to different forecast of oil volume contained in the field according to Santos and government. The aim of this thesis is to study the implementation of Six Sigma to improve well testing process and its impact to corporate reputation. Primary data is gathered through in-depth interview with staff whilst secondary data is collected from various sources such as books, internet and internal company documentation."

Cacat produk yang diketahui selelah akhir proses sangat merugikan. Untuk ilu diperlukan cara pencegahan yang tepat. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan solusi masalah Cacat produksi. Prosentase cacat yang tinggi sangat merugikan, karena ilu improvement dengan Sb: Sigma metode DMAIC digunakan untuk menurunkan jumlah kegagalan produksi akibat cacat. Selain itu melalui improvement Sir Sigma juga akan didapat keuntungan dari sisi lain sepeni biaya produksi maupun waktu produksi. Penelitian dengan penerapan Six Sigma ini dilakukan pada sebuah industri manufaciuring dengan basil produk maupun proses produksi yang memiliki ketelitian yang tinggi_ Khususnya pada proses machining faktor dominan yang mempengaruhi timbulnya cacat perlu lebih diperhatikan dalam improvement menurunkan kegagalan produk. "Tulisan ini merupakan suatu pentaburan penerapan metodologi Six Sigma dalam upaya perbaikan proses dengan studi kasus proses pemotongan material dengan mesin Eye Tracer di lini persiapan bahan PT. United Tractors Pandu. Pada psrbaikan proses ini dilakukan penggunaan tahapan Six Sigma yang dikenal sebagai DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control), dimana dalam tiap tahapannya digunakan berhagai kombinasi metode ataupun alat (tools) baik yang bersifat kuantitatif maupun kualitatif secara feksibel dan koutekstual. Dengan penggunaan metodologi Six Sigma, dihatapkan akan terjadi perbaikan proses k arah proses tampa cacat (zero defect) atau secara realistis mencapai 3,4 cacat per juta kemuugkinan (DPMO) pada saat suatu proses telah mencapai tingkatan enam sigma (Six Sigma).
Usaha peningkatan kualitas produk ataupun jasa yang ditawarkan kepada konsumen dalam era yang semakin kompelitif merupakan sesuatu yang mutlak perlu untuk dilakukan oleh setiap perusahaan. Demikian pula halnya dengan kuntitas produk yang dihasilkan oleh PT. United Tractors Pandu Produk setengah jadi yang dihasilkan oleh proses pemotongan dengan mesin Eye Tracer pada Lini Persiapan Bahan di perusahaan ini baru mencapai 3 sigma, yang menandakan masih terdapat sekitar 66.800 kejadian cacat dalam satu juta kemungkinan yang ada (DPMO). Banyaknya jumlah kejadian cacat yang ditemukan pads proses pemotongan tersebut, umumnya disebabkan oleh permasalahan metode dan permasalahan permesinan.
Melalui penerapan melodologi Six Sigma, sepedi dalam penelitian ini, diharapkan akan mampu meningkatkan nilai sigma proses pemotongan menjadi 3,5 sigma, yaitu 22-800 kejadian cacat dalam satu juta kCHl H. Peningkatan tersebut dapal diwujudkan melalui pengaplikasian usulan-usulan perbaikan yang berupa pembuatan prosedur standar opcrasi (SOP), perbaikan meja polong, maupun berbagai perbaikan lain yang digabarkan dalam tulisan ini.

This writing will explain in details about the implementation of Six Sigma methodology in order to make an improvement of cutting process by using Eye Tracer cutting machine in material preparation section, PT. United Tractors Pandu. This irnprovement method are using Six Sigma improvement stem which known as DMAIC (Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control). In every those step, there would be a different methods and tools flexibly and eontextually used, which differ into quantitative or qualitative characteristics. By using Six Sigma methodology, we will go to achieve zero defect process or realistically 3,4 defect per million opportunity (DPMO) when the process has gain six sigma level.
All effort to increase a quality of products or services offered to customers was something really need to be done by many companies in this fast growing competitive market, including PT. United Tractors Pandu. As this far, semi finish product produced by Eye Tracer cutting machine which located in material preparation section., still only have 3 sigma in their process capability. This 3 sigma shows that there is a possibility of 66.800 defect was found in a million opportunity (DPMO) of their semi Enish product. The large number of defect found in that cutting process was identiiied mostly caused by cutting method and machinery problem.
By using Six Sigma method in this research, hopefully the company could eliminate those problems, and could increase the sigma capability into 3,5 sigma, which means there would be 22.800 defect occur in a million opportunity- This target of improvement could be realize by implementing the solutions given, like establishing a standard operating procedure (SOP) for cutting process, cutting table changing, and many other solutions proposed.

Pemsahaan-perusahaan kelas dunia menjadikan Six Sigma sebagai suatu standar karena kemampuannya untulc mencapai 3,4 cacat per juta peluang-. Six Sigma melakukan S fasc untuk mencapai tingkat kegagalan nol, Define - Measure -Analyze - Improve - Control (DMAIC).
Pada penelitian ini, peneliti akan mencoba menerapkan konsep Six Sigma melalui 5 fase DMAIC-padaproses bisnis di Departemen Weaving. Penelitian-bertujuan untuk mengurangi tingkat cacat pada kain Grey yang merupakan masalah utama yang sering terjadi pada Departemen ini.
Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan, didapatkan bahwa rata-rata proses di Departemen Weaving menghasilkan nilai sigma sebesar 3,71 dengan tingkat Defect Per Million Opportunity sebesar 13.655._ Hasil ini juga sebanding dengan nil i indeks kapabilitas proses sebesar 1,235. Hasil ini dapat menjadi tolak ukur untuk melakukan perbaikan hingga mencapai perusahaan kelas dunia.

In the present day, quality is the most important element in global business competition. Only company that has high quality business process and the ability to satisfy customer's needs could be compete and stay exist. One of' issue that closely related to quality is Six Sigma.
Six Sigma is a quality improvement concept that focused o_n fulfilrnent of customefs critical expectation by reducing the level of defect. Six Sigma becomes a standard for world class company, because its ability to achieve up to 3,4 non conformity per million opportunity. Six Sigma's goal is zero defect which is achieve by performing 5 phase, Define - Measure -Analyze - lm prove - Control (DMAIC).
In this research, Six Sigma will be implemented at Weaving Department by performing 5 phase of DMAIC Its goal to reduce Grey Fabric's Defect Level which are the main problem and frequently-occurred at this Department.
The results of this research pointed that process held at Weaving Department has an average sigma value of 3,71 and the average Defect Per Million Opportunity of 13.655. This result is equivalent to Process Capability Index of 1,235. Management could consider the results to be a baseline for quality improvement to achieve world class company.

One methods which is used and succsed in big company in order to decreasing defects ofa product is Six Sigma. SixSigma found by Motorola Cpmpany in about l98O. In this observation, SixSigma is used in assembly process because many defecs are founded in this Process. The product that being observed are running Nike shoes which will be export to whole continent in this world. The aim of Six Sigma implemention in this Subcontractors Nike are decreasing the amount of defects with knowing the value of sigma and yields as a result of processing the quantitative data. Systematically and conlinously the calculation result the categorize of the company level as an average industiy. From the result of the calculation, analyzing by Six Sigma method will somuch helping to determine Risk Priority Number (RPN) from Failure Modes Electrict Analysis (FMEA) which resulted no quality and inspection standard PT. "Six Sigma merupakan sualu target, yaitu 3.4 Defect Per Million Oppurtunities, yang memungkinkan karakterisasi kualitas diukur dari perspektif jumlah error atau cacat sebenamya dibanding total kesempatan terjadinya error atau cacat. Metodologi peningkatan kualitas Sir Sigma sebagai sarana untuk mencapai level kualitas Six Sigma dengan berfokus pada problem solving sebuah sistem disebut Six Sigma Improvement Framework yang terdiri dari 5 fase yang disebut DMIAC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, dan Control). Six Sigma berfokus pada pelanggan dan berorientasi pada proses yang berpengaruh pada hasil akhir yang diharapkan.
Penelitian ini menganalisa penerapan six sigma pada sebuah perusahaan plastic part manufaktur untuk mengurangi banyaknya cacat silver dan short shoot pada proses injection. Pengolahan data kuantitalif dan kualitatif dilakukan menggunakan beberapa tools Six Sigma pada masing-masing tahap DMIAC. Melalui penerapan Six Sigma, performa proses injection untuk menghasilkan produk yang bebas cacat dapat terukur. Setelah itu dilakukan analisa terhadap sumber variasi dan penentuan solusi potensial untuk memperbaiki performa proses.
Penelitian dibatasi pada produk injection khususnya cacat silver dan short shoot Nilai defect per million opportunity (DPMO) yang dihasilkan sebesar 11910,6 DPMO dan nilai sigma sebesar 3.8. Nilai-nilai ini menggambarkan kemampuan proses injection yang belum cukup tinggi. Dari hasil analisa identifikasi solusi-solusi yang dapat diimplementasikan unluk rneningkatkan performa proses. Implementasi dari solusi-solusi potensial yang teridentifikasi merupakan upaya unluk menghilangkan sumber atau penyebab timbulnya variasi dan akan dapat meningkatkan kemampuan proses dalam menghasilkan produk yang tidak memiliki cacat.

Six Sigma was a target, that is 3.4 Defect Per Million Opportunities, which the characteristic of the quality measured from a perspective of error or defect by the opportunity of error or defect itself. The method of six sigma improvement which focusing on problem solving of a system is called Six Sigma Improvement Framework. This framework contain 5 phase called DMIAC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, dan Control). Six sigma focusing on customer satisfaction and process oriented.
This research is analyzing six sigma implementation in a plastic part manufacturing company for reducing silver and short shoot reject at injection process. The processing of data using six sigma tools at each phase of DMIAC. Through the six sigma implementation, injection process performance can be calculated. After the calculation, variation source can be analyze and the potential solution is determined to improve the process performance.
This research is only for the injection product specially silver and short shoot reject. Defect per million opportunity (DPMO) value produced in injection process is 11910.6 DPMO and 3.8 sigma value. This value was not good enough. Potential solution and implementation need to be identiiied for reducing source of variation and problem. Good improvement will increase the process capability and performance and hopefully the company can produce only good product.
