"Skripsi ini membahas kohesi leksikal yang terdapat di dalam wacana pidato Nicolas Sarkozy dengan menggunakan teori kohesi Halliday dan Hasan 1976. Sumber data yang digunakan adalah jenis wacana ekspresif. Data yang diamati adalah semua unsur-unsur leksikal baik berupa kata, frase, klausa, atau kalimat yang bersifat kohesif. Sasaran penelitian adalah melihat jenis-jenis kohesi leksikal yang muncul dalam sumber data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis kohesi leksikal repetisi merupakan jenis yang dominan. Di samping itu penelitian ini menemukan jenis referensi leksikal sebagai salah satu jenis kohesi leksikal.

The thesis is exactly discussing the lexical cohesion of Nicolas Sarkozy discourse speech. The research method used is cohesion theory by Halliday and Hasan 1976 and the sources that being used in this thesis so-called expressive text. Meanwhile, the data observed are focusing for all lexical elements such words, phrase, clause or cohessive words. The aim of this thesis research is going to understand kind of lexical cohesion appeared on Nicolas Sarkozy speech. By analyzing the content of Nicolas Sarkozy speech, the result shows that Repetitive Lexical Cohesion become the major genre. In addition, this research finds Reference Lexical as one of lexical cohesion genre."
