"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan tentang dukungan yang diberikan oleh AS terhadap Georgia dalam konflik yang melibatkan antara Rusia dengan Georgia. Selain itu penelitian ini juga untuk menggambarkan apa saja keinginan AS untuk memenuhi kepentingan-kepentingan negaranya dalam mencapai tujuan negaranya di Eropa Timur, terutama di Georgia. Penjelasan mengenai kepentingan AS tersebut dengan menggunakan konsep power dan pendekatan teori offensive realism. Dengan konsep dan teori tersebut, penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa dukungan AS terhadap Georgia dalam konflik antara Rusia dan Georgia terkait dengan kepentingan-kepentingan AS seperti kepentingan ekonomi terkait jalur pipa minyak dan gas, keinginan ekspansi AS ke wilayah Eropa Timur, khususnya Kaukasus, dan mengimbangi kekuatan Rusia di wilayah Eropa Timur.

The aim of this thesis is to describe about the supports which has been given by US to Georgia in conflict between Russia and Georgia. It also describes the US national interests in order to achieve its goals in Eastern Europe especially in Georgia. This thesis is analyzed by the concept of power and offensive realism theory. According to the concept and theory, the thesis has proved that the US supports towards Georgia in Russia-Georgia's Conflict related to the US national interests which are the US economic interest in term of oil and gas pipeline projects, US expansion goals toward the Eastern Europe especially in Georgia, and to balance Russia's power in the Eastern Europe Region."
