Mass media has a strong influence in society, the media can provide its own opinion on an event especially crime, Vincent Sacco (1955) explained that the media can contextualize a crime through three main aspects including; Collecting, Sorting, and Contextualization. These three aspects attempt to explain the contextualization process in the form of a frame for the events the media wants to raise. One example of a case that has elements of media framing is the murder case of Mirna Wayan Salihin using cyanide in coffee, with the accused Jessica Kumala Wongso. Several studies in one level explained that in the course of this case, there was a framing made by the media against Jessica. In identifying the frames, a frame analysis tool was created, one of which is the Zhongdang Pan and Gerald M. Kosicki model. Pan and Kosicki use this tool to identify how the reality of a social problem issue is constructed by the media. The results of this study want to show that the process of making news by the media (media opinion) on a crime can construct public perceptions of the case, which can lead to the emergence of trial by the press practice"

The thesis analyzes how Western media and its affiliations construct hegemonic discourses regarding the Global South's response to the climate crisis during the Conference of Parties (COP) 26 agenda in Scotland in 2021. The research utilizes Goffman’s Frame Analysis to critically examine the power of mass media as the fourth pillar of democracy and its narrow interests toward the West. Drawing from Jurgen Habermas' perspective on cultural domination, this study argues that the Global North media's narrative on environmental issues in the Global South adopts a dictating and blaming style while also promoting dependence. The research findings reveal that mass media hegemonizes biased narratives by shaping public rationality, commercialization of public space, and perpetuating the notion that the public in Southern countries is unenlightened."

"This book explores how news media construct social issues and events and thereby convey certain perceptions within the scope of framing theory. By operationalizing media framing as a process of interpretation through defining problem, diagnosing causes, making moral judgments and suggesting solutions, the book proposes a systematic and transparent approach to images in news discourse. Based on a frame analysis, it examines how German news media framed a list of China-related issues and events, and thereby conveyed particular beliefs and opinions on this country. Moreover, it investigates whether there were dominant patterns of interpretation and the extent to which diverse views were evident by comparing two major daily newspapers with opposite political orientations - the FAZ and the taz.
Motivated by the relationship between image and reality, the book explores image formation and persistence from media construction of meaning and human cognitive complexity in perceiving others. Media select certain issues and events and then interpret them from particular perspectives. A variety of professional and non-professional factors behind news making may result in biased representations. In addition, from a social psychological perspective, inaccurate perceptions of foreign cultures may arise from categorical thinking, biased processing of stimulus information, intergroup conflicts of interest and in-group favoritism.
Accordingly, whether media coverage deviates from reality is not the main concern of this book; instead, it emphasizes the underlying logics upon which the conclusions and judgments were drawn. It therefore contributes to a rational understanding of Western discourse and holds practical implications for both Chinese public diplomacy and a more constructive role of news media in promoting the understanding of others."

"Graphic methods for structural design essentially translate problems of algebra into geometric representations, allowing solutions to be reached using geometric construction (ie: drawing pictures) instead of tedious and error-prone arithmetic. This was the common method before the invention of calculators and computers, but had been largely abandoned in the last half century in favor of numerical techniques. However, in recent years the convenience and ease of graphic statics has made a comeback in architecture and engineering. Several professors have begun using graphic statics in the classroom.and.studio environment. But until now, there had been no guidebook that rapidly brings students up to speed on the fundamentals of how to create graphical solutions to statics problems.
Graphic Statics introduces all of the traditional graphic statics techniques in a parametric drawing format, using the free program GeoGebra. Then, advanced topics such as indeterminate beams and three dimensional curved surfaces are be covered. Along the way, links to wider design ideas are introduced in a succinct summary of the steps needed to create elegant solutions to many static
equilibrium problems.
