Skripsi ini mengangkat permasalahan mengenai representasi kekuasaan dalam novel Goruden Suramba karya Kotaro Isaka. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat penggambaran kekuasaan dalam teks novel Goruden Suramba dengan menggunakan teori kekuasaan yang dikemukakan oleh Michel Foucault. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang difokuskan hanya pada teks novel Goruden Suramba. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori analisis struktural Tzvetan Todorov sebagai metode pembedahan teks. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan sebuah penggambaran konsep relasi kekuasaan Michel Foucault mengenai power/knowledge dan panopticon dalam teks Goruden Suramba melalui tokoh Aoyagi dan kota Sendai.

ABSTRACT
This thesis is about the representation of power in Kotaro Isaka?s novel Goruden Suramba. The aim of this thesis is to look for the representation of power, identified with power relation theory by Michel Foucault. This research is using qualitative research, focusing the novel version of Goruden Suramba. Analyzed by structural analysis theory of Tzvetan Todorov as text analysis method. The conclusion of this research found that in this novel has representation of power relation that Michel Foucault called as power/knowledge and panopticon through the character, Aoyagi and the town of this novel setting, Sendai city.
