"Green computing adalah perilaku menggunakan sumber daya komputasi secara efisien yang dilakukan dengan cara memaksimalkan efisiensi energi, memperpanjang masa pakai perangkat keras, meminimalkan penggunaan kertas, dan beberapa hal teknis lainnya. Skripsi ini mengimplementasikan konsep green computing dengan cara menghemat konsumsi sumber daya pada prosesor pada perangkat keras dengan menggunakan metode Undervolt demi menghemat penggunaan baterai, umur kipas, dan memperkecil kerusakan Laptop akibat overheat. Undervolt merupakan proses mengurangi voltase berlebih yang masuk ke CPU dengan menggunakan software ataupun melalui BIOS pada komputer. Undervolt tidak mempengaruhi performa secara signifikan, karena yang mempengaruhi performa adalah overclocking dan underclocking. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang mengimplementasikan metode undervolt ini. Sistem operasi Windows memiliki effisiensi energi sebesar 6.37% sedangkan sistem operasi Ubuntu sebesar 3.29%.
......Green computing is behavior to use resources computation in which conducted by ways of maximizing efficient energy efficiency, hardware, extending the use minimize the use of paper, and some other technical issues. This thesis implement the concept of green computing by means of save consumption resources at processor on hardware by using the method undervolt for save the use of batteries, a fan, age and minimize damage laptop due to overheat. Undervolt is process of reducing voltages excess that empties into the cpu by the use of software or via bios on a computer. Undervolt significantly, not affecting the performances because that affects its performance is overclocking and underclocking. Based on the results of research implement methods undervolt this. An operating system, windows having effisiensi energy 6.37 % while operating system ubuntu of 3.29 %."

"Meningkatnya suhu bumi setiap tahun merupakan dampak dari pemanasan global yang disebabkan oleh peningkatan emisi gas rumah kaca, terutama karbon dioksida, yang terperangkap dalam atmosfer. Salah satu kontribusi terbesar dari emisi ini berasal dari pembakaran bahan bakar fosil untuk menghasilkan listrik. Green Computing merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi emisi karbon melalui penghematan energi listrik pada perangkat elektronik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efisiensi daya dan perhitungan emisi karbon pada sistem operasi perangkat komputer menggunakan teknik undervolting untuk mendukung Green Computing. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik undervolting pada CPU yang diatur melalui menu BIOS. Percobaan stress testing CPU dilakukan menggunakan software Prime95/MPrime dan benchmarking dilakukan menggunakan software Geekbench 5 dan Blender Open Data. Percobaan diterapkan pada beberapa sistem operasi yang diinstal pada komputer, sepertiWindows 10, Windows 11, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Fedora 35, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, dan Arch Linux. Data yang diambil meliputi konsumsi daya, suhu CPU, utilisasi CPU, dan skor benchmark dari Geekbench 5 dan Blender Open Data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa teknik undervolting berhasil mengurangi konsumsi daya, suhu CPU, dan emisi karbon tanpa mengorbankan performa pada semua sistem operasi yang diuji. Sistem operasi Arch Linux menjadi sistem operasi yang mengalami penurunan konsumsi listrik paling efektif dengan persentase sebesar 19.32%. Dari sisi efisiensi, sistem operasi Arch Linux memiliki tingkat efisiensi yang paling baik dengan tingkat efisiensi rata-rata sebesar 24.04%. Sistem operasi Arch Linux juga menjadi sistem operasi yang paling besar mengurangi jumlah emisi karbon dengan total 3.42 kg CO2 pada asumsi penggunaan selama 1 bulan (8 jam per hari selama 22 hari penggunaan).
......The increasing temperature of the Earth every year is a consequence of global warming caused by the rise in greenhouse gas emissions, especially carbon dioxide, trapped in the atmosphere. One of the largest contributors to these emissions comes from the burning of fossil fuels to generate electricity. Green Computing is one of the efforts to reduce carbon emissions through energy savings in electronic devices. This research aims to analyze power efficiency and calculate carbon emissions on computer operating systems using undervolting techniques to support Green Computing. This study uses the undervolting technique on the CPU, adjusted through the BIOS menu. Stress testing CPU was conducted using Prime95/MPrime software, and benchmarking was performed using Geekbench 5 and Blender Open Data software. The experiments were applied to several operating systems installed on the computer, such as Windows 10, Windows 11, Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Fedora 35, OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, and Arch Linux. Data collected included power consumption, CPU temperature, CPU utilization, and benchmark scores from Geekbench 5 and Blender Open Data. The results showed that the undervolting technique successfully reduced power consumption, CPU temperature, and carbon emissions without sacrificing performance across all tested operating systems. Arch Linux was the most effective operating system in reducing power consumption with a percentage decrease of 19.32%. In terms of efficiency, Arch Linux had the highest efficiency level with an average efficiency rate of 24.04%. Arch Linux also achieved the largest reduction in carbon emissions, totaling 3.42 kg CO2, assuming usage of 8 hours per day for 22 days per month."

"Kemajuan teknologi saat ini mendukung peningkatan penggunaan barang elektronik yang mendukung aktivitas manusia. Penggunaan barang elektronik berlebih menyebabkan penumpukan limbah elektronik yang menimbulkan dampak bagi lingkungan dan manusia. Salah satu tindakan yang dapat dilakukan untuk mengurangi limbah elektronik adalah menerapkan perilaku komputasi hijau. Komputasi hijau dipandang sebagai suatu konsep yang dapat membantu dalam mengurangi dampak lingkungan dari teknologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi intensi dan perilaku komputasi hijau pada kalangan mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan model yang terdiri dari konstruk yang diadaptasi dari Theory of Interpersonal Behavior (TIB), Norm Activation Model (NAM), dan performance shaping factor (PSF). Responden terdiri dari 194 mahasiswa. Analisis dilakukan dengan metode Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) dengan perangkat lunak SmartPLS 4. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa intensi terhadap perilaku komputasi hijau dipengaruhi oleh atiitude dan personal norm. Kemudian, personal norm dipengaruhi oleh ascription of responsibility, awareness of consequence, dan subjective norm. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa perilaku komputasi hijau dipengaruhi oleh intensi terhadap perilaku komputasi hijau, habit, dan performance shaping factor. Implikasi teori dari penelitian ini adalah penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa TIB dapat digunakan di jenis penelitian yang bertopik tindakan pro-lingkungan. Dalam konteks Indonesia, penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menjadi kontribusi ilmiah bagi riset dan penelitian mengenai perilaku komputasi hijau di Indonesia. Implikasi praktis pada penelitian ini ditujukan kepada mahasiswa, universitas, pemerintah, dan industri hardware komputer.
......The current advancement of technology supports the increased use of electronic devices that facilitate human activities. Excessive use of electronic devices leads to the accumulation of electronic waste, which has impacts on the environment and human health. One action that can be taken to reduce electronic waste is the implementation of green computing behavior. Green computing is seen as a concept that helps reduce the environmental impact of technology. This research aims to identify the factors influencing the intention and behavior of green computing among university students. The study utilizes a model consisting of constructs adapted from the Theory of Interpersonal Behavior (TIB), Norm Activation Model (NAM), and performance shaping factor (PSF). The respondents consist of 194 students. The analysis is conducted using the Partial Least Square Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) method with SmartPLS 4 software. The results of this study indicate that the intention towards green computing behavior is influenced by attitude and personal norm. Furthermore, personal norm is influenced by ascription of responsibility, awareness of consequences, and subjective norm. The study also shows that green computing behavior is influenced by the intention towards green computing behavior, habit, and performance shaping factor. The theoretical implications of this research are that it demonstrates the applicability of TIB in pro-environmental action research. In the context of Indonesia, this study is expected to contribute to scientific research on green computing behavior in Indonesia. The practical implications of this research are directed towards students, universities, government, and computer hardware industry."

"Pada saat ini dunia sedang mengalami krisis energi dan sebanyak 2% dari total emisi karbon dunia berasal dari sektor teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Untuk dapat mengurangi krisis energi maka diperlukan perilaku ramah lingkungan dengan salah satunya yakni melakukan virtualisasi. Dengan virtualisasi, user dapat menjalankan lebih dari satu sistem operasi di atas satu komputer. Untuk membuktikan apakah virtualisasi dapat menjadi solusi yang tepat dalam mendukung efisiensi energi, maka dilakukan pengujian dengan menggunakan SUSE Linux Enterprise Server sebagai sistem operasi host dan menjalankan sistem operasi guest di atasnya. Virtualisasi dilakukan dalam dua pendekatan yang berbeda yakni full virtualization dan paravirtualization dengan Virtual Box dan Xen sebagai virtual machine.
Dari hasil pengukuran didapatkan hasil bahwa resource yang dibutuhkan dalam menjalankan virtualisasi cukup bervariasi. Paravirtualization lebih hemat dari segi memory usage, sedangkan full virtualization lebih hemat dari segi CPU usage. Dari segi performance, diketahui bahwa teknologi virtualisasi full virtualization dapat menjalankan sistem operasi guest yang lebih banyak dibandingkan paravirtualization. Konsumsi energi paravirtualization lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan full virtualization dan tentunya berpengaruh kepada emisi karbon yang dihasilkan. Penggunaan virtualisasi dalam penelitian ini telah terbukti sebagai salah satu solusi untuk mendukung efisiensi energi dan penurunan emisi karbon.
......Recently, the world is encountering an energy crisis and as much as 2% of total global carbon emissions come from information and communication technology sector. In order to reduce the energy crisis, environmentally friendly behavior is required for instance, by using virtualization. By virtualization, users can operate multiple operating systems over one computer. In order to prove whether virtualization can be the solution for the reduction of energy consumption, so that a test carried out by utilizing SUSE Linux Enterprise Server as the host operating system and then run a guest operating system. The virtualization is implemented by two different approaches namely full virtualization and paravirtualization with Virtual Box and Xen as virtual machines.
The results which obtained from the measurement indicate that resources which needed to carry out the virtualization are various. Paravirtualization is proven more efficient in terms of memory usage while full virtualization is more efficient in terms of CPU usage. In terms of performance, full virtualization can run more guest operating systems than paravirtualization. Energy consumption in paravirtualization is higher than full virtualization and this data certainly affects the carbon emissions. The use of virtualization in this research has proven to be one solution to support energy efficiency and reduced carbon emissions."
