"Kaitan maternal employment pada kesehatanan anak telah menjadi perdebatan empiris selama tiga dekade terakhir akibat pertentangan peran ibu sebagai penghasil pendapatan dan pengasuh anak. Di Indonesia, hasil deskriptif menduga partisipasi angkatan kerja perempuan berkaitan dengan malnutrisi balita yang lebih rendah. Penelitian ini bertujuan menambah literatur perdebatan dalam kaitan maternal employment dan malnutrisi anak menggunakan metode IV-2SLS dan data representatif nasional. Hasil penelitian ini tidak menolak dugaan deskriptif. Maternal employment berkaitan dengan malnutrisi yang lebih rendah bila diukur dengan wasting. Bila diukur dengan stunting, hasil tersebut hanya terlihat di wilayah yang sama.......The relationship between maternal employment and child nutrition has been debated during the last three decades due to the conflicting roles of mothers as income earners and child caregivers. In Indonesia, the descriptive results suggest that female labor force participation is associated with lower under-five malnutrition. This study aims to add to the literature debate on the relationship using the IV-2SLS method and nationally representative data. The results show that maternal employment is related to lower malnutrition if measured with wasting. Measured with stunting, the same result is only observed among mothers who live in the same areas."
