"This article illustrates the process of reformulating Indonesian identities in the new "Si Unyil" program, decisions made, their background and consequences. The new Unyil appears for an ideal: parents miss an educational children television program. Production team seemed to believe that this ideal is not blocking their needs for profit. The question is 'who is the real audience?', 'Children or their parents?'. When reproduced, "Si Unyil" series is problematic. In one hand, the old Unyil is no longer fit the new television industry. Countryside setting is not interesting for the advertisement, so in the new series Unyil lives in a suburb area, place for middle class, the most potential market. Sarong and Malay's hat, wore by old Unyil, now are being replaced by unbuttoned shirt and backpack. The old Unyil played hide and seek and ate traditional cake, now Unyil plays videogame and eats ice cream. But this is an old legendary program for Indonesian children, how do they put the Indonesian context?"

The notion of subjectivity is a concept of personal identity which deals with the self and its relations to the social structures. This dissertation reveals the ambivalent construction of child character subjectivity in four Indonesian children’s films: Laskar Pelangi, Serdadu Kumbang, Lima Elang, dan Langit Biru. Employing structuralism approach and system formal analysis form Bordwell and Thompson (2008), it is found that textual structure and narrative strategies are ambivalent because they position child characters as subjects, but only under certain conditions: the absence or without involvement of adult characters, in open space, and group-oriented. Further analysis using Foucault theory of power and governmentality (1995) found that although literacy is the child's potential skill to shift adult's dominant power and negotiating positions take place temporarily, the child character's subjectivity is generally constructed through discipline in social practices in order to train children to take cultural aspects deemed important into consideration. Consequently, the constructed subjectivity is submissive children who obey the expected norms, prioritize group's interests, and avoid differences. This ambivalent subjectivity suggests that Indonesian children's films view children as deficient and so in need of guidance and instruction despite their emotional and intellectual potentials."

This undergraduate thesis discusses the types of advocacy, advocacy process conducted by Indonesian Children Protection Commission KPAI for the period of 2017 2022 and factors that affect its process as well as the division of roles by the stakeholders involved in advocacy process. This research is a qualitative research with exploratory study. The results of this study conclude that KPAI conducts policy advocacy and case advocacy through the dynamic process by playing roles as facilitator, mediator, and advocate. There are still some factors that hamper the implementation of the advocacy expected by KPAI. However these barriers are offset by the support factors that come from within and outside the organization. This research suggests that KPAI should extend its advocacy about the importance of protecting children 39 s rights to society through social media that is widely used by the wider community. "
