Abstrak :
End-of-life Vehicle (ELV) recovery is a promising strategy to minimize the environmental impact of automotives on environmental sustainability. This study aims to assess the community?s knowledge from a socio-technical perspective on ELV. A survey was conducted in Japan and Malaysia to assess public perception on ELV recovery. The results showed that the communities in both countries have basic knowledge and a reasonably good level of awareness on environmental issues and recovery strategies such as recycling. However, there is a high level of uncertainty on the concept of ELV reuse and remanufacturing, as more than 50% of respondents were unsure of their willingness to participate in ELV initiatives. The respondents agreed that the industry and government should take the necessary steps to support the reuse strategy. The paper concludes with suggestions from a socio-technical perspective, which aim to ensure an effective implementation of ELV recovery through reuse and remanufacturing.

Intensifikasi program kusta adalah salah satu upaya yang dilakukan untuk menurunkan angka kesakitan kusta, menurunkan angka kecacatan serta menghilangkan rasa takut terhadap kusta.

Intensifikasi program ini terdiri dari tiga komponen yaitu intensifikasi penyuluhan kesehatan, penemuan kasus baru serta pengobatan kombinasi.

Tujuan penelitian penilaian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kelebihan dan kekurangan intensifikasi program, khususnya pengaruh terhadap pengetahuan, sikap dan praktek serta penemuan kasus kusta baru dengan kecacatan.

Hasil yang ditemukan adalah (1) intensifikasi program berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan dan sikap masyarakat, meskipun dikontrol dengan pengaruh variabel pendidikan sebagai confounding (2)terhadap praktek masyarakat ternyata tidak ada pengaruhnya (3)terhadap kasus baru dengan kecacatan ternyata intensifikasi program berpengaruh meskipun dikontrol dengan pengaruh variabel umur dan tipe penyakit sebagai confounding.

Dari analisa data sekunder didapatkan bahwa(1) kasus baru ditemukan sebagian besar telah datang dengan sukarela tetapi masih ada yang datang dalam keadaan lanjut atau dengan kecacatan (2)sebagian kasus baru adalah tipe multi basiler.
