Abstrak :
Skripsi ini menganalisis sebuah novel karya Qiong Yao berjudul Yanyu Mengmeng 烟雨蒙蒙 (Kabut Cinta) melalui metode formal dengan pendekatan intrinsik dan metode deskriptif analisis. Metode formal dengan pendekatan intrinsik digunakan penulis untuk menjelaskan unsur internal dalam novel. Sedangkan metode deskriptif analisis digunakan untuk menganalisis citra empat tokoh perempuan modern Taiwan yang berbeda dengan perempuan tradisional Cina. Hasil analisis memperlihatkan bahwa tindakan dan pemikiran Yiping, Bibi Xue, Mengping dan Fang Yu menggambarkan citra perempuan modern Taiwan pada tahun 1950-1960. This thesis analyzes Qiong Yao's novel, Yanyu Mengmeng 烟雨蒙蒙 (Romance in The Rain), through formal method using the intrinsic approach and descriptive analytical method. The formal method with intrinsic approach is used to examine the internal elements inside the novel. While the descriptive analysis is used to explain the image of four modern Taiwanese women character which are different to the traditional Chinese women. The result of this thesis shows that the action and thought of Yiping, Aunt Xue, Mengping, and Fang Yu portray the image of modern Taiwanese women during 1950-1960.

Abstrak :
This thesis analyzed a serial novel by Qiong Yao which is Huanzhu Gege (HZGG) through an approachment of literature sociology that is connected to the readers and the social effect to the people, and also using propaganda technique in a literature text that gives a description about women_s superiority. This analysis is to reveal how women take part, that is described through characters named Xiao Yanzi and Xia Ziwei, in influencing the decision making of the Qian Long Emperor and also the other officer at Qing Dynasty. The result of this analysis shows the use of 8 propaganda techniques that describes the superiority of women compares to man in HZGG novel.
