"In 2017, as an acknowledgement of their extreme popularity in Southeast Asian countries, including Thailand, manuscripts of Panji tales were recommended for inclusion in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register. This paper will discuss the scope and extent of this popularity, its influence on both Thai classical culture and pop culture, plus a record of the search for its point of entry and manner of introduction into Thai culture. Even though such a search is not as seemingly impossible as Panji’s searches for his fiancée, namely: mangummangaaraa, there are still several gaps to fill in. In particular, this paper proposes that the existence of over a hundred Malay words left untranslated in all the Thai versions of the Panji tales is evidence of a certain degree of Thai-Malay bilingualism in Thailand in the eighteenth century. Changes in the canonical shapes in certain syllables and how these words were pronounced also provide clues to the fact that the tales came into Thai culture through Malay via southern Thailand, and not directly from Javanese, as several scholars believe."

"ABSTRACT
This paper aims to examine the semantic characteristics of words related to cooking methods seen in food names in the Thai language. The results of the examination show that, of the various cookery method words derived from the preparation method verbs, they have mainly been influenced by foreigners coming to Thailand since the Ayuthaya period. Furthermore, in most of those words can be seen the changes Thai people made to foreign cooking method to suit their taste. From studying these cooking method words, inferences can be made about Thai peoples's preference for foods."

"The experiment was carried out to determine the chemical composition and digestibility of pond snail meal (PSM) in Thai native chicken (TNC) feed. Twenty-eight Thai native cocks. 25 weeks old (Paduhangdum Chiang Mai strain) were used. Three types of pond snail preparations were used to find the nutritive value of the pond snails. The treatments were 1- snail meat (without shell), 2. cooked dried (whole snail), and 3. raw dried (whole snail)- Nutrients digestibility were divided into 7 treatment groups (control, 5, 10 and 15% of cooked and snail meal) with 4 replications of one cock each. It was found that pond snail meat has the higher CP and EE than cooked and raw whole pond snail, but pond snail meat has lower CF, ash and Ca. The nutrients digestibility had no significant difference (p > 0.05) in DM and CP» EE and NFE; however, DM and NFE digestibility were the highest in 5% cooked pond snails. Whereas 10% cooked pond snail had the highest digestibility of CP and Ca and 15% raw pond snail had the highest EE digestibility. Pond snail meat has high protein but whole snail has high Ca. Levels at 10% cooked pond snail meal may be suitable for Thai native chicken feed."

"This paper is a teaching note on the case of teaching Thai language speaking skills to Japanese students using task-based language teaching approach. Subjects included 17 second year Japanese students in the "Communication in Daily Life" course, a full academic year course. The course met 90 minutes once a week for 15 weeks per semester. The course objectives were for the students to be able to ask and answer questions in daily life situations; to be able to communicate with native speakers on various topics; and both communicative situations and complicated grammatical structure are emphasized. In task-based language learning, the primary focus of classroom activities was the task, and language was used as a tool to complete the meaningful tasks through authentic communication. Task-based language teaching provided opportunities for students to share ideas on an individual, pair and group basis. Each task was organized in 3 steps which proposed by Willis (1996) : pre-task, during task and post task. In the last week of semester 1, the students were asked to complete a questionnaire on students' self-assessment. The students reported the effectiveness of learning vocabulary from the tasks. In the students' view, authentic task materials such as pictures and VDO provided by the teacher in pre-task were very useful for them in the stage of planning the tasks. However, the students also reported difficulties in speaking fluently because of their inadequate vocabulary. Results from the students' self assessment indicated their satisfaction with the teaching approach employed in this course. It has been widely concluded that Japanese students tend to be shy and have nothing to say in class because of the fear of making mistakes. However, Japanese students in this class can communicate effectively in public with no fear and shyness. There were many reasons for the success of task-based learning approach in promoting speaking skills among Japanese students. Real world topics, authentic materials, classroom atmosphere and good relationship among the students play important role in the improvement of students speaking ability."

"Penelitian ini membahas tentang strategi gerakan red shirt dalam pemenangan Pheu Thai Party PTP pada pemilihan umum tahun 2011 di Thailand. Teori gerakan yang digunakan yaitu framing, resource mobilization, dan political opportunity oleh Doug McAdam, Sydney Tarrow, dan Charles Tilly. Gerakan red shirt menjalankan tiga strategi tersebut dalam mendukung pemenangan Pheu Thai Party pada pemilihan umum tahun 2011 di Thailand. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa red shirt membingkai gerakannya sebagai gerakan pro-demokrasi, dengan mobilisasi sumber daya adanya Red Villages dan sukarelawan yang diedukasi mengenai Pemilu, dan peluang politik berkoalisi dengan Pheu Thai Party.

This research discuss about red shirt movement strategy in the winning of Pheu Thai Party PTP at Thailand general election in 2011. Movement theory used are framing, resource mobilization, and political opportunity by Doug McAdam, Sidney Tarrow, and Charles Tilly. Red shirt movement run that three strategies for supporting Pheu Thai Party at Thailand general election in 2011. The result of this research shows that red shirt framed its movement as pro democracy movement, by mobilizing resource from Red Villages and volunteers that was educated about general election, and opportunity of coalition politics with Pheu Thai Party."
