"This study seeks to gather empirical evidence regarding education and access to information in affecting mangrove forests in Indonesia. The motivation for this study comes from the fact that Indonesia has experienced enormous mangrove deforestation in the last three decades. This study uses village level data in Indonesia. With a combination of geospatial data and PODES, the author uses the unbalanced panel data and Fixed Effects Model (FEM) to analyze the correlation of 9-year basic education facilities and higher education as well as national private TV broadcasts and overseas TV broadcasts on the area of mangrove forests. The author found that villages that have higher education facilities and get overseas TV broadcasts have a positive correlation with the area of mangrove forests in the village area. Higher education and broad access to information globally can certainly increase villagers’ knowledge and concern about the importance of mangrove forests. Therefore, government policies are needed to improve higher education facilities and access to global information in villages to reduce the exploitation of villagers against mangrove forests, especially for village communities located around mangrove forests."

"Penelitian ini dilatarbekangi oleh rendahnya pemahaman masyarakat akan wakaf uang. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemahaman masyarakat terhadap wakaf uang dan seberapa besar faktor-faktor tersebut berpeluang mempengaruhinya.Metode yang digunakan untuk menganalisis permasalahan ini, adalah model regresi logistik, dengan variabel terikat pemahaman masyarakat tentang wakaf uang, dan variabel bebasnya adalah tingkat pendidikan, akses media informasi wakaf uang, pemahaman hukum Islam dan keterlibatan organisasi sosial keagamaan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di kecamatan Rawalumbu Bekasi, dengan sampel jamaah mesjid yang berjumlah 130 sampel.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa persepsi masyarakat akan wakaf uang dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pendidikan, akses terhadap media informasi, pemahaman hukum Islam dan keterlibatan dalam organisasi sosial keagamaan.

This research is based on the reality of poor understanding of our society about cash waqf. The purpose of this research is analyse factors influence public?s understanding about money grant and what media mostly used by the society in getting information about cash waqf.The method use to analyse this case in a logistics-regression model, with some fixed variable related to public?s understanding about cash waqf, and the independent variable are educational grade, media used to access information about cash waqf, law knowledge and the participation in social-religious organizations. The research was conducted in Rawalumbu District, Bekasi. Samples were taken from the mosque?s jamaah with number of respondents 130 participants.The results of this research shows that the public?s perception about cash waqf are influenced by the educational grade, media that is used to access information, law perception and their participation in the social-religious organization."
