"Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana pembuat film mengemas sebuah pesan dalam merepresentasikan sebuah realitas yang ada pada kehidupan masyarakat, khususnya pada film animasi anak berjudul Frozen dalam merepresentasikan konsep cinta. Penulis menggunakan konsep representasi pada film dan enam tipe cinta menurut Lee. Selain itu, penulis menggunakan analisis naratif dengan menjelaskan struktur tiga babak dalam film Frozen. Hal tersebut bertujuan untuk memudahkan penulis dalam menggambarkan bagaimana representasi konsep cinta dalam film tersebut.
Terdapat dua penelitian yang mendasari penulisan ini. Pertama, penelitian berjudul Representasi Stereotipe Perempuan dalam Film Brave ditulis oleh Fanny Puspitasari, Universitas Kristen Petra, Surabaya dan yang kedua berjudul Disney?s Influence on Famales Perception of Gender and Love yang ditulis oleh Theresa Tonn, pada tahun 2008, Universitas Wisconsin Stout, Amerika. Penulis mengganti konsep Vladmirr Propp dalam penelitian sebelumnya dengan struktur tiga babak. Tulisan ini menunjukan terdapat lima dari enam tipe cinta menurut Lee yang digambarkan oleh masing-masing karakter yang ada pada film Frozen, yaitu Eros, Ludus, Agape, Mania, dan Storge.
This paper aims to examine how film creators potray the representation of realities within people?s life, especially through the children animation, Frozen, in representing the concept of love. The author uses concept of representation in movies and six types of love according to Lee. Additionally, the author uses narrative analysis to explain the three acts structure in the movie Frozen. This method will facilitate the author in illustrating how the concept of love is potrayed in the movie. There are two researches used as the basis of this paper. First, a research titled Representasi Stereotipe Perempuan dalam Film Brave written by Fanny Puspitasari Go, Universitas Kristen Petra, Surabaya. The second one, titled Disney?s Influence on Famales Perception of Gender and Love written by Theresa Tonn, in 2008, University of Wisconsin Stout, United States. The author substituted Vladmirr Propp?s concept used on the previous paper with the concept of three acts structure. This paper suggest that there are five out of six types of love according to Lee, depicted through different characters in Frozen, Eros, Agape, Mania, and Storge."
