"Kampung kota merupakan salah satu kawasan kota yang menjadi pilihan bertinggal bagi masyarakat dengan kemampuan ekonomi rendah. Fenomena berhuni di kampung kota identik dengan citra kepadatan dan pemukiman kumuh. Namun, masih banyak masyarakat yang memilih untuk tetap tinggal di kawasan ini dan menolak untuk direlokasi. Fenomena ini menjadi isu yang menarik untuk dibahas lebih dalam. Hunian adalah bagian dari rekam jejak kehidupan penghuni yang memiliki makna. Pemahaman terkait makna hunian dapat dilihat melalui tahapan yang telah dilalui penghuni dalam proses berhuni. Proses perlu dilihat jauh ke belakang, karena wujud fisik hunian yang terlihat pada masa kini memiliki keterhubungan dengan tindakan dimasa lalu. Isu ini dapat dianalisis melalui pendekatan
assemblage. Bagaimana penghuni menyusun setiap komponen hunian dalam masa pembangunan dan perubahan. Komponen material melewati tahapan pendefinisian territory yang dilakukan melalui proses territorialization dan deterritorialization, sehingga membentuk assemblage hunian. Berdasarkan hasil tinjauan teori dan analisis studi kasus, proses berhuni dalam konteks kampung kota dipengaruhi oleh tindakan penghuni yang memiliki otoritas. Tindakan aktor dilatar balakangi oleh faktor internal dan eksternal, sehingga hunian menjadi sebuah produk dan sebuah proses yang terus berjalan. Faktor internal berupa life-cycle, sedangkan faktor eksternal berupa bencana kebakaran. Dalam merealisasikan tindakan perubahan, aktor dibatasi oleh kemampuan ekonomi yang dimilikinya.......Kampung kota is one of the urban areas, which is chosen by the people with low economic income to live in. The phenomenon of the housing process in kampung kota is identical with the image of density and slums. However, there are people who still choose to live in this area and refuse to be relocated. This phenomenon is an interesting issue to discussed. House is part of the occupants life record, that has meaning for its inhabitants. We cannot judge a house as it is seems today. The present is always related to the past. This issue can be analyzed through an assemblage approach. How residents make every component of the house during the period of housing development. Through the process of coding, territory is being defined by the arranggement of material components, which are carried out through the process of territorialization and deterritorialization. This process formed a house assemblage. Based on the results of a theoretical review and case study analysis, the housing process in the kampung kota is influenced by the actions of residents who have authority. Actors act based on the internal and external factors, therefore house becomes a product and also a process at the same time. Internal factors in the form of life-cycle, while external factors in the form of a conflagration. In the attempt of house assembling, the actor is limited by his economic capabilities. "

"Pulau Pari adalah pulau dengan kekayaan alam yang masih terjaga hingga kini. Sejak tahun 2010, pemerintah DKI Jakarta mengusung Pulau Pari sebagai salah satu pulau wisata fokusan di Kepulauan Seribu. Pulau Pari merupakan rumah bagi 1500 jiwa yang memiliki rasa kepemilikan tinggi terhadap pulau dan keberlanjutan program wisatanya. Sebagian besar masyarakat Pulau Pari memodifikasi hunian pribadi menjadi rumah yang berfungsi sebagai sarana akomodasi berupa homestay bagi wisatawan. Beberapa rumah bahkan dilengkapi dengan kedai makanan dan toko kelontong. Dalam prosesnya modifikasi hunian ini memengaruhi perilaku berhuni, meliputi rutinitas dan mobilitas, anggota keluarga terkait. Untuk menjaga dinamika tersebut, masyarakat Pulau Pari kini menemukan cara sendiri untuk hidup berdampingan dengan wisatawan sebagai bentuk kontribusi pada program wisata setempat.
......Pulau Pari is an island known for its beautiful nature, preserved to this day. Since 2010, the Jakarta Provincial Government has promoted Pulau Pari as one of the focal tourist islands in Kepulauan Seribu. Pulau Pari is home to 1500 residents with a strong sense of ownership and collective concerns for the island and the sustainability of its tourism programs. Most Pulau Pari's residents have modified their private residences into accommodation facilities for island tourists. Houses of the families in Pulau Pari are mostly modified dwellings that also serve as homestays. Some houses are even equipped with diners and convenience stores. Modifying these houses has influenced the residents' dwelling behaviors, including routines and mobility, of the family members involved. To maintain this dynamic, the people of Pulau Pari have found ways to coexist with tourists as to contribute to the local tourism programs."

ABSTRAKBerhuni merupakan salah satu hal sering dibahas dalam arsitektur. Berhuni juga kerap dimaknai sekadar mendapatkan tempat tinggal atau rumah secara fisik. Fenomena ini memunculkan adanya pandangan bahwa arsitekturlah yang menciptakan makna berhuni. Padahal, berhuni menurut setiap orang akan berbeda-beda karena prosesnya yang terus berlanjut. Salah satu esensi proses seperti pada lipatan (the fold), yaitu bukan untuk diselesaikan melainkan dilanjutkan. Dalam skripsi ini akan dibahas lebih lanjut tentang makna berhuni sebagai proses, yang ruang lingkupnya bukan hanya pada rumah. Dari hasil analisa tinjauan pustaka dan studi kasus, berhuni sebagai proses juga melingkupi ruang publik, yang dapat mempengaruhi penghuni yang tinggal di sekitar ruang publik tersebut.
