"Pumps have played a signiiicant role in industrial plants. Preventive monitoring techniques should be applied to pumps to minimise production loss. The vibration symptom generated from the pump was investigated as an indication of the cause Of the pump performance deterioration. This paper presents the experiment on two pumps with different health condition. The test rig was set up and the vibration analysis soiiware was developed for this purpose. Analysis was conducted on both performance evaluation and vibration signal interpretation from both of the pumps.
Some key issues related with pump health assessment were discussed; these include pump efiiciency, cavitation, vane pass frequency, and statistical parameter."

"ABSTRAK
Penggunaan pemakaian pompa sentrifugal sangat luas, untuk penunjang proses industri, irigasi maupun untuk kebutuhan rumah tangga dan lain-lain.
Guna mengantisipasi perkembangan dan permintaan konsumen yang akhir-akhir ini meningkat, maka industri manufaktur perlu dengan teliti menghitung waktu operasi proses pabrikasi, supaya tepat menghitung biaya produksinya. Dengan demikian pompa yang dihasilkan mempunyai daya saing di pasar.
Penelitian ini membahas estimasi waktu, untuk mendapatkan target waktu operasi elemen-elemen utama pompa sentrifugal, melalui regresi linier dari metoda kuadrat larked, kemudian dipakai sebagal dasar untuk menghitung perkiraan biaya (cost estimation) dari biaya produksi (manufacturing cost).
Berdasarkan hasil waktu dari Model, maka didapatkan hasil yang mendekati dengan waktu pengamatan pabrikasi sebenarnya, demikian juga biaya produksi dari model memperlihatkan hasil mendekati dengan biaya produksi sebenarnya.

ABSTRACT
The use of centrifugal pump Is widely utilized for Industrial process, irrigation, home appliance needs, etc.
The development of industry as well as the national domestic demands have recently increased, industrial manufacture needs the accurate production cost time calculation in order to get the exact budget of manufacturing cost. By means of this, the pump manufacture can Increase the gain of the competitive quality In the global marketing.
The research deals with the discussion of time operation estimate to reach the target of operating time of main element through the linear regression using the smallest square method. Using this method the cost estimation could be calculated from the total manufacturing cost.
The result indicates that the time estimated by this model have a close value comparing with the time estimation observed directly in the field. The cost production model have the same result as well as the time estimation model comparing with the real one. The cost production obtained by this model reaches the closest result compared with the manufacturing cost of the exact one.

"Value stream mapping adalah salah satu metode pada konsep lean manufacturing yang bertujuan untuk memetakan aliran nilai dan informasi para sebuah rangkaian proses. Bersamaan juga dengan metode waste relationship matrix, jenis-jenis waste pada peta aliran nilai data diidentifikasi sehingga dapat dimitigasi dengan value stream analysis tools yang sesuai. Riset ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan value stream mapping pada proses perawatan pompa sentrifugal yang merupakan komponen yang memiliki frekuensi perawatan terbesar. Setelah penerapan metode, jenis-jenis waste yang menjadi akar masalah dari proses perawatan pompa adalah motion, transportation, dan processing. Setelah dilakukan improvement, didapati lead time perawatan berkurang sebanyak 11.85%, cycle time perawatan berkurang sebanyak 11.55%, dan non-value-adding time berkurang sebanyak 27.00%.

Value stream mapping is one of the tools in the lean manufacturing concept that aims to map the value stream and information on a sequence of the process. Also using the waste relationship matrix method, types of waste on the value stream are identified so that it can be mitigated using the appropriate value stream analysis tool. This research aims to apply the value stream mapping method on centrifugal pump maintenance as it is the component with the greatest maintenance frequency. After the application, wastes that contribute the greatest to the pump maintenance problems are motion, processing, and transport. After an improvement, the lead time is reduced by 11.85%, cycle time is reduced by 11.55%, and non-value-adding time is reduced by 27.00%."
