"Although some children work independently, the crux of the issue
involves various aspects of life surrounding them, in particular those
related to the households where they belong, predominantly the role of
their parents in their involvement and the predominantly where the households
conform. It is closely associated with the extended family system.
Consequently it is essential to approach any chile' labor policy beyond
those issues directly related to what problems the children themselves are
confronting in labor market. A huge requirement of resources together
with a multi-dimensional nature of the problem transparently make any
effort of mainstreaming the issue of child labor into other development
programs is perhaps the most efficient and effective way to tackle the
problem. They ore, among others. programs on paver-ry alleviation,
education and training. as well as health for all. with priority focusing on
the six worst forms of child labor, involving community leaders, and
educating parents on how valuable their children 's lives. Finally, helping
the informal network and the areas of origin often implies helping and
preventing the child labor.

"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh tinggal dengan ibu tunggal terhadap kecenderungan anak usia sekolah untuk bekerja dengan menggunakan data Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) tahun 2014. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah anak yang tinggal dengan ibu tunggal memiliki kecenderungan yang lebih tinggi untuk bekerja dibandingkan dengan anak yang tinggal dengan orang tua lengkap. Apabila pendapatan keluarga diinteraksikan dengan ibu tunggal, pendapatan keluarga kelompok tertinggi pada anak yang tinggal dengan ibu tunggal memiliki kecenderungan yang lebih besar untuk bekerja dibandingkan dengan pendapatan keluarga kelompok terendah dan kelompok menengah. Hal tersebut terjadi karena ada hubungan yang kuat antara ibu yang bekerja dengan anak bekerja.

The aim of this study is to see the impact of living with single mother on the likelihood of school-age children to work using IFLS (Indonesia Family Life Survey) 2014 data. The result of logistic regression show that children who living with single mother more likely to work than those living with complete parents. While family income as family resource is the mediating role of single mother, children in higher income bracket are more likely to work than those in lower and middle income bracket. Since there is a strong relation between both mothers and children who work.
