"Latar belakang: Partisipasi anak dalam pembinaan jangka panjang banyak dilakukan sejak usia anak. Di Indonesia seringkali dijumpai jadwal latihan muda melebihi batas jam latihan yang direkomendasikan. Tidak terpenuhinya pemulihan sesuai beban latihan dapat menyebabkan kelelahan tidak teratasi dan menjadi hambatan performa atlet muda. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh cold water immersion sebagai salah satu metode pemulihan pada atlet usia muda. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain uji klinis dengan pembanding, acak tersamar tunggal. Penelitian dilakukan pada 32 atlet berusia 11-16 tahun yang terdaftar dalam program pembinaan provinsi DKI Jakarta. Randomisasi membagi subjek kedalam kelompok intervensi (cold water immersion selama 10 menit dengan suhu 15℃) dan kelompok kontrol (pemulihan pasif selama 10 menit). Subjek melakukan pemeriksaan baseline nilai standing long jump (SLJ), kadar laktat darah (LD), dan nilai rating of perceived exertion (RPE), dilanjutkan protokol simulasi latihan, serta dengan protokol pemulihan. Pengamatan nilai SLJ, LD, dan RPE dilakukan setelah pemulihan dan 24 jam pasca latihan. Dilakukan analisis rerata dalam kelompok menggunakan uji repeated ANOVA dan post hoc Bonferroni untuk nilai SLJ serta uji Friedman dan post hoc Wilcoxon untuk nilai LD dan RPE. Dilakukan analisis perbedaan rerata antar kelompok pada masing-masing data dari pengukuran 10 menit dan 24 jam pasca simulasi latihan menggunakan uji T tidak berpasangan pada nilai SLJ serta uji Mann-Whitney pada nilai LD dan RPE. Hasil: Analisis data berhasil dilakukan pada 30 subjek. Didapatkan peningkatan kembali nilai SLJ mendekati nilai baseline pada kelompok intervensi (p=0,103), sedangkan nilai SLJ pada kelompok kontrol semakin menurun pada 24 jam pasca simulasi latihan. Terjadi penurunan nilai LD hingga di bawah anaerobic threshold pada kelompok intervensi, sedangkan nilai LD kelompok kontrol masih di atas anaerobic threshold setelah 10 menit subjek melakukan protokol pemulihan masing-masing. Tidak ada perbedaan perubahan nilai RPE yang bermakna pada kedua kelompok dari waktu ke waktu. Kesimpulan: Cold water immersion dapat memulihkan performa pada atlet muda dan mengurangi tingkat kelelahan dengan lebih baik pada atlet usia muda.

Background: Children's participation in long-term coaching started from a young age. Young athletes' training schedules in Indonesia often exceed the recommended practice hours. Not fulfilling the recovery according to the training load can cause unresolved fatigue and become an obstacle to the performance of young athletes. Purpose: This study aims to determine the effect of cold water immersion as a recovery method for young athletes. Methods: This study used a randomized, single-blinded, controlled clinical trial design. The research was conducted on 32 athletes aged 11-16 enrolled in the DKI Jakarta provincial coaching program. Randomization divided the subjects into the intervention group (10 minutes of cold water immersion at 15℃) and the control group (10 minutes of passive recovery). Subjects carried out a baseline examination of standing long jump (SLJ) values, blood lactate levels (LD), and rating of perceived exertion (RPE) values, followed by an exercise simulation protocol, as well as a recovery protocol. After recovery and 24 hours after exercise, SLJ, LD, and RPE values were reobserved. Mean analysis was performed within groups using repeated ANOVA, Bonferroni post hoc tests for SLJ values , and Friedman and Wilcoxon post hoc tests for LD and RPE values. We analyzed the mean differences between groups for each data from measurements 10 minutes and 24 hours after the exercise simulation using the unpaired T-test on SLJ values and the Mann-Whitney test on LD and RPE values. Results: Data analysis was successfully performed on 30 subjects. The SLJ value was found to increase again to close to the baseline value in the intervention group (p=0.103). In contrast, the SLJ value in the control group decreased even more 24 hours after the exercise simulation. There was a decrease in the LD value below the anaerobic threshold in the intervention group, while the LD value in the control group was still above the anaerobic threshold after 10 minutes; the subjects carried out their respective recovery protocols. There was no significant difference in changes in RPE values in the two groups over time. Conclusion: Cold water immersion can improve performance in young athletes and reduce fatigue levels better in young athletes.

"Latar belakang: Skor olahraga menembak dipengaruhi oleh faktor fisik dan mental yang dapat berubah-ubah tergantung kondisi kelelahan dan pemulihan atlet. Cold water immersion (CWI) & terapi musik adalah dua metode yang digunakan secara empiris pada fase pemulihan untuk menurunkan kelelahan pada atlet.
Tujuan: Menguji kombinasi CWI dan terapi musik saat pemulihan (recovery) dalam mempercepat pemulihan dan meningkatkan performa skor menembak.
Metode: Desain penelitian menggunakan crossover trial. Total 14 orang atlet air pistol 10 meter pelatnas yang masuk kriteria inklusi dibagi secara acak ke dalam 2 kelompok (kelompok cold water immersion + terapi musik (CWIM) dan kelompok kontrol (pemulihan pasif)). Subjek melakukan pemeriksaan data dasar di hari H-7. Pada hari H subjek melakukan latihan sirkuit, prosedur pemulihan, simulasi menembak babak penyisihan, pemantauan frekuensi denyut jantung (HR), skala kelelahan (RPE), skala feeling scale (FS) dan felt arrousal scale (FAS). Di hari H+1 subjek hanya melakukan simulasi menembak babak penyisihan, pemantauan HR, skala RPE, FS, dan FAS. Seminggu berselang dari hari H dilakukan prosedur serupa dengan kelompok yang sebaliknya.
Hasil: Kelompok CWIM didapatkan HR lebih rendah pascapemulihan, RPE lebih rendah pascapemulihan dan pascamenembak, FAS lebih tinggi pascapemulihan. Tidak terdapat perbedaan skor menembak antarkelompok.
Kesimpulan: CWIM dapat digunakan dalam pemulihan jangka pendek untuk menurunkan HR dan RPE, meningkatkan FAS, namun tidak berefek pada skor menembak.

Background: Shooting performance is affected by athlete's physical and mental condition that can be varied due to fatigue and recovery process. Cold water immersion & musical therapy are two methods that empirically used in recovery phase for decreasing athlete's fatigue.
Aim: Combining both cold water immersion and musical therapy in recovery phase for improving recovery process and shooting performance.
Methods: Study design was non-blinded crossover trial. Total 14 persons 10 meters air pistol athletes that matched inclusion criteria were randomized in two groups (cold water immersion + musical therapy (CWIM) and control group (passive recovery)). Subjects did baseline examination on D-7. On the day, subjects did circuit training, recovery procedures, 10 meters electronic scoring system (60 shots), heart rate (HR) monitoring, fatique discomfort scale monitoring (RPE), feeling scale monitoring (FS), felt arousal scale monitoring (FAS). On D+1 subjects did 10 meters electronic scoring system, HR, FS, and RPE monitoring. One week after the day procedure, there is crossover process with the same procedures.
Results: CWIM group had lower HR after recovery; lower RPE after recovery and scoring, higher FAS after recovery. There was no significant differences in shooting score from both groups.
Conclusion: CWIM can be used in short term recovery process for reducing heart rate and RPE scale, increasing FAS scale, but there is no effect in shooting score.

"Latar belakang: Kegiatan olahraga rekreasional di masyarakat Indonesia meningkat pesat. Kegiatan olahraga rekreasional tersebut dapat memberikan manfaat terhadap kesehatan, tetapi bila peningkatan intensitas dan volume latihan tidak disertai dengan pemulihan pasca latihan yang memadai, maka akan menimbulkan masalah kesehatan seperti cedera. Cold water immersion adalah metode pemulihan yang populer digunakan, meskipun efektivitasnya masih kontroversial. Pemeriksaan enzim creatine kinase dan pengukuran nilai vertical jump adalah beberapa parameter yang dapat menilai kondisi pemulihan pasca latihan.
Tujuan: Penelitian ini ingin mengetahui manfaat pemberian cold water immersion dalam pemulihan setelah latihan pada subjek pelaku olahraga rekreasional, berdasarkan pengamatan nilai vertical jump dan aktivitas enzim creatine kinase.
Metode: Desain penelitian adalah non-blinded randomized controlled clinical trial. Randomisasi membagi 20 subjek atlet rekreasional kedalam kelompok intervensi cold water immersion (15 menit, suhu 11-15oC) dan kelompok kontrol passive recovery. Subjek melakukan pemeriksaan baseline enzim creatine kinase dan nilai vertical jump, menjalani protokol latihan sirkut di gym, dilanjutkan dengan protokol pemulihan. Pengamatan nilai vertical jump dan aktivitas enzim creatine kinase dilakukan setelah pemulihan (post-exercise recovery), 24 jam dan 48 jam pasca latihan. Analisis data bertujuan untuk menilai perbedaan rerata nilai vertical jump dan enzim creatine kinase pada waktu pengamatan dengan baseline masing-masing kelompok melalui uji repeated Anova + post-hoc Bonferroni, serta menilai perbedaan rerata variabel enzim creatine kinase dan vertical jump antar kelompok melalui uji-T.
Hasil: Analisis data berhasil dilakukan pada 17 subjek. Kelompok yang mendapatkan intervensi cold water immersion pasca latihan menunjukkan pemulihan yang lebih cepat dibandingkan kelompok kontrol passive recovery pada 24 jam, berdasarkan perubahan nilai vertical jump. Rerata nilai vertical jump kelompok intervensi juga lebih tinggi (p = 0,039) dibandingkan kelompok kontrol saat 24 jam setelah latihan. Berdasarkan perubahan aktivitas enzim creatine kinase, cold water immersion dapat mempercepat pemulihan 48 jam pasca latihan dibandingkan passive recovery. Rerata enzim creatine kinase subjek kelompok intervensi lebih rendah (p < 0,01) dibandingkan subjek kelompok kontrol saat 48 jam setelah latihan.
Kesimpulan: Cold water immersion dapat digunakan sebagai salah satu metode pemulihan pasca latihan pada pelaku olahraga rekreasional, terutama setelah melakukan latihan atau kegiatan olahraga dengan volume dan intensitas yang tinggi.

Background: Recreational sports have a positive influence on health. However, there will be a concern if the training intensity and volume are increasing without a proper way of recovery. Cold water immersion has been known as one of post-exercise recovery method. Assessment of creatine kinase and vertical jump can be used to monitor the condition of post-exercise recovery.
Aim: To evaluate the role of cold water immersion based on creatine kinase and vertical jump.
Method: Twenty subjects were randomized to the cold water immersion or passive recovery group. Creatine kinase and vertical jump was measured as a baseline, followed by fatigue protocol (circuit training in gym) and recovery protocol in accordance with each group. The changes of creatine kinase and vertical jump was monitored in three consecutive period; post-exercise recovery, 24-hour, and 48-hour post-exercise. The mean difference within groups and between groups of creatine kinase and vertical jump was analyzed using repeated Anova + post-hoc Bonferroni test and T-test respectively.
Results: The intervention group showed faster recovery compare to control group at 24-hour post-exercise based on vertical jump. Intervention group had higher vertical jump (p = 0,039) at 24-hour assessment. Based on creatine kinase, the intervention group showed faster recovery at 48-hour post-exercise compare to control group. There were also lower (p <0,01) creatine kinase in intervention group at 48-hour post-exercise measurement.
Conclusion: The use of cold water immersion is recommended as post-exercise recovery method for recreational athletes after high-volume and high-intensity training.
