Proses yang sebenarnya terjadi di dalam silinder merupakan proses yang sangat rumit dimana melibatkan aliran fluida, pembakaran, kerja dan perpindahan panas. Pada penerapan numerik beberapa idealisasi yang dilakukan disesuaikan dengan tujuan Komputasi. Komputasi motor bakar diesel seringkali menggunakan pendekatan siklus ideal, fluida kerja udara saja dan juga mengabaikan pengaruh saat injeksi dan perpindahan panas. Pada tesis ini dicoba dilakukan pembuatan Komputasi dengan 12 fluida kerja dimana efek saat injeksi dan perpindahan panas tidak diabaikan, sementara siklus ideal diperbaiki pada langkah pembakaran berdasar diagram tekanan silinder eksperimen dan dilakukan aplikasi analisa pelepasan panas. Komputasi ini dibuat untuk memberi informasi parameter lain yang seringkali sulit diperoleh secara eksperimen. Kehatihatian perlu dilakukan dalam mengaplikasikan model yang tersedia dalam program Komputasi. Beberapa model perpindahan panas yang ada dicoba diaplikasikan dan dibandingkan akurasinya. Prinsip Komputasi yang dilakukan adalah menganggap salah satu parameter diantara tekanan, temperatur, atau mol dianggap konstan dan selanjutnya parameter lain dengan metoda secant dapat diketahui besarnya. Pada proses hisap dan buang dianggap tekanan konstan, sedangkan pada proses yang lain (tekan, bakar, usaha) dianggap komposisi tidak berubah (mol konstan). Hasil Komputasi menunjukkan bahwa prediksi diagram P-O memiliki penyimpangan cukup kecil bila diketahui laju masa terbakarnya. Aplikasi untuk mengetahui trend gas buang fungsi waktu injeksi dan ekuivalen rasio dapat dilakukan dengan Komputasi ini.
