"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai kalimat majemuk yang terdapat dalam buku cerita anak usia 10 tahun yang berjudul Vater, Mutter, Ich, und Sie karya Jürg Schubiger. Metode dalam penelitian ini merupakan metode kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan dan memaparkan jenisjenis kalimat majemuk yang terkandung dalam buku cerita anak tersebut, serta membuktikan kesesuaian penggunaan kalimat majemuk dalam buku cerita anak tersebut dengan teori oleh Hulit dan Howard mengenai penggunaan kalimat kompleks untuk anak usia 10 tahun. Dari hasil penelitian, kalimat majemuk yang ditemukan dalam buku cerita anak tersebut adalah kalimat majemuk setara dan bertingkat. Kalimat majemuk yang mendominasi adalah kalimat majemuk bertingkat.

This research examines the compound sentences in the children?s book for 10 year-olds, which is called Vater, Mutter, Ich, und Sie written by Jürg Schubiger. This is a qualitative and quantitative research. The purposes of this research are to explain and break down the types of compound sentences which are written in the book, and then prove the compatibility of those compound sentences used in the book based on the theory from Hulit and Howard on the usage of compound sentences for 10 year-old children. According to the results, the compound sentences in the book are compound-complex sentences. However the complex sentence type is the one that dominates in the book."

"Perbedaan karakteristik bahasa pada kompositum Eigenname dalam bahasa Jerman menjadi tantangan tersendiri bagi penerjemah dalam proses penerjemahan. Berdasarkan hal itu, penelitian ini membahas mengenai analisis penerjemahan kompositum Eigenname bahasa Jerman ke dalam bahasa Indonesia di dalam artikel berjudul Kampf ums Wasser. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terjemahan kompositum Eigenname bahasa Jerman dalam teks sudah sepadan di dalam bahasa sasaran (BSa), serta menjelaskan prosedur yang digunakan oleh penerjemah dalam menerjemahkan kompositum tersebut. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah teori kesepadanan dinamis dan korespondensi formal oleh Nida dan Taber (1982) serta teori prosedur penerjemahan oleh Newmark (1988). Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan model analisis data deskriptif. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa dari tujuh bentuk kompositum Eigenname yang ditemukan di dalam teks, satu di antaranya kurang sepadan di dalam bahasa sasaran. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa penerjemah menggunakan prosedur kombinasi atau disebut sebagai prosedur couplets dan triplets dalam menerjemahkannya.

The different language characteristics of the Eigenname compound words in German is a challenge for translators. Therefore, the focus of this research is to analyze the translation of German Eigenname compound words into Indonesian in an article entitled Kampf ums Wasser. The purpose of this research is to know whether the message of Eigenname compounds in target language (TL) is equivalent to source language (SL) and also describe the translation procedures used by the translator in translating them. The theories utilized here are the dynamic equivalence and formal correspondence by Nida & Taber (1982) and also the translation procedures by Newmark (1988). This research used a qualitative method with descriptive analysis model. The results show that of the seven Eigenname compounds found in the text, one of them is less accurately conveyed into TL. Additionally, the translator combined procedures, or called couplets and triplets in translating them."
