Abstrak :
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan flexploitation yang merupakan keadaan yang memaksa pekerja untuk tunduk saat tereksploitasi. Berbeda dengan eksploitasi biasa, flexploitation terjadi di kalangan pekerja dengan kondisi kerja yang flexible seperti pekerja lepas. Studi-studi sebelumnya mengkaji bagaimana pekerja seni turut melanggengkan serta menormalisasi kondisi rentan mereka. Namun, studi-studi sebelumnya belum secara khusus berfokus membahas perempuan pekerja seni. Masih minimnya pembahasan mengenai topik tersebut membuat peneliti berargumen bahwa perempuan pekerja seni mengalami kondisi kerentanan yang khas karena adanya kerugian atas lingkungan kerja yang buruk, diskriminasi gender, timpang dan adanya beban ganda. Penelitian ini menggunakan konsep flexploitation untuk membantu menjelaskan kerentanan yang terjadi pada perempuan pekerja seni visual. Temuan penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perempuan pekerja seni terjebak dalam flexploitation. Flexploitation terhadap perempuan pekerja seni terlihat pada penerimaan terhadap kondisi eksploitasi dalam sistem kerja flexible dan menyebabkan normalisasi kerentanan. Kerentanan ini dinormalisasi berupa ketidakamanan pendapatan, jam kerja yang tidak menentu, kontrak kerja yang tidak mengikat, ketiadaan jaminan sosial, dan ketidakpastian jenjang karir. Kemungkinan flexploitation terjadi lebih besar pada perempuan pekerja seni visual karena perempuan dianggap tidak memiliki tanggung jawab utama sebagai pencari nafkah dan perempuan dapat memiliki keleluasaan untuk dapat mengurus rumah tangga. ......This study aims to describe flexploitation which is a condition that forces workers to submit when exploited. In contrast to ordinary exploitation, flexploitation occurs among workers with flexible working conditions such as casual workers. Previous studies examined how arts workers helped perpetuate and normalize their vulnerable condition. However, previous studies have not specifically focused on women arts workers. The lack of discussion on this topic has led researchers to argue that women arts workers experience unique conditions of vulnerability due to the disadvantages of a bad working environment, gender discrimination, inequality and a double burden. This study uses the concept of flexploitation to help explain the vulnerability that occurs in female visual arts workers. The research findings show that women arts workers are trapped in flexploitation. Flexploitation of women arts workers can be seen in the acceptance of conditions of exploitation in a flexible work system and causes the normalization of vulnerabilities. This vulnerability is normalized in the form of income insecurity, erratic working hours, non-binding work contracts, lack of social security, and uncertain career paths. The possibility of flexploitation to occur is greater for women visual arts workers because women are considered not to have the main responsibility as breadwinners and women can have the freedom to be able to manage the household

Abstrak :
Besarnya daya serap tenaga kerja industri kreatif serta kontribusinya yang massif terhadap PDB menyebabkan pemerintah terus mendorong perkembangan industri kreatif. Namun pada kenyataannya para pekerja industri kreatif masih diliputi kerentanan dan mengalami beragam bentuk viktimisasi. Tulisan ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menggunakan data sekunder dari literatur ilmiah dan laporan yang diterbitkan oleh SINDIKASI. Hasilnya menemukan bahwa praktik pengaturan sistem kerja fleksibel yang dilakukan oleh pekerja industri kreatif pada masa Labor Market Flexibelity atau pasar tenaga kerja fleksibel dalam rezim neoliberalisme telah membuka ruang untuk dilakukannya praktik yang disebut flexploitation. Pemerintah yang secara tidak langsung abai untuk melindungi pekerja ini diidentifikasi menyebabkan viktimisasi struktural terhadap pekerja industri kreatif. ......The large capacity of creative industry workers and their massive contribution to GDP causes the government to continue to encourage the development of creative industries. However, in reality creative industry workers are still vulnerable and experience various forms of victimization. This paper uses a qualitative approach by using secondary data from the scientific literature and reports published by SINDIKASI. The results found that the practice of regulating a flexible work system carried out by creative industry workers during the Labor Market Flexibility in the neoliberalism regime has opened up space for a practice called flexploitation. The government which indirectly neglects to protect these workers is identified as causing structural victimization of creative industry workers.
