ketebalan berkisar hingga 300 m. Proses sedimentasi Fm. Toolachee secara
regional berupa fluvial (meandering) dengan urutan batuan berupa batupasir,
batulempung, batulanau, dan batubara. Batupasir Fm. Toolachee memiliki

ABSTRACT
Toolachee Fm has widespread deposition which is formed widely in Cooper
Basin. Although, Toolachee Fm is thin bed formation with thickness averaging
300-400m only. Sedimentation process in Toolachee Fm is controlled by fluvial
system which is formed in meandering depositional environment with lithology
consists of sandstone, shale, siltstone, and coal. Sandstone of Toolachee Fm has
moderate to good porosity, therefor it can act as reservoir which is proven by
flowing gas in Meranji-1 well. Based on assumption of widespread depositional of
Toolachee Fm, hydrocarbon accumulation shall be found in two wells, Cooba-1
and Pelican-5. In fact, Cooba-1 and Pelican-5 do not encounter significant
hydrocarbon in Toolachee Fm. Hypotehsis were made that stratigraphy has an
important influence of hydrocarbon accumulation in Toolachee Fm. Study result,
from integrated study well and seismic interpretation which is supported by
seismic stratigraphy, attribute seismic and seismic inversion, show facies change
in Toolachee resulting truncated sand body. This study produces a comprehensive
facies distribution both laterally and vertically. Therefor, next well should be
drilled along channel geometry, Toolachee Fm has widespread deposition which is formed widely in Cooper

"Nenering Formation is essentially made up of semi-consolidated sediments, which are divided into basal conglomerate beds, conglomeratic sandstone, cross-bedded sandstone, and siltstone to muddy layers facies. It is overlie unconformable to the Berapit Formation, but conformable to the Kroh and Grik Formations. The stratigraphy of Nenering Formation is a fining upwards sequence where the thickness of conglomerate beds become thinner upwards and become thicker for conglomeratic sandstone. The thickness varies from 0.5 m to tenths of meters. The more sandy in the upper portion (cross-bedded sandstone) overlie with thin siltstone and mudstone facies. The clast and grain composition suggested that the material making up the sedimentary sequence were derived predominantly from the erosion of granitoid rocks and sedimentary and metamorphic rocks constitute a minor provenance. Imbrications and the trend sizes of clasts indicate that the palaeo-current flow toward northeast. Cross bedding that was found in conglomerate and sandstone indicates the main channel depositional environment. The sequence stratigraphy of this area match with the Saskatchewan fluvial braided channel model."

On Meranji field there are three wells penetrated Namur Formation, but only Meranji-1 well that drain oil hydrocarbons from the Namur Formation. The needs of the regional geological informations as author references or limitations to map the distribution of facies in this field. As a basis for modeling properties of rocks, facies development needs to be known in detail by using a regional geological data, seismic data, well data, as well as other supporting data. Modeling and reservoir characterization in Meranji field in Namur formations include the distribution of facies and reservoir properties distribution in Namur formation. Distribution of sandstones facies and reservoir properties laterally guided by seismic attributes and seismic acoustic impedance inversion results. Modeling results indicate that the unit sandstone thickest, morphology channels are truncated or not continuous or does not develop into a well Cooba-1 and Pelican-5, direction of deposition of sandstone facies channel from the northeast toward southwest converge into well Meranji-1 and distribution of lower AI laterally forming a lens thinning, may not evolve towards two other wells, this analysis supports the hypothesis why only on Meranji-1 well flowed hydrocarbons."
