"Penelitian ini menyelidiki dampak dari subsidi hutan berupa dana reboisasi yang diberikan kepada pemerintah provinsi untuk memperbaiki kawasan yang terdeforestasi. Data panel tahun 2009 hingga 2019 digunakan untuk mengkaji apakah kebijakan subsidi hutan dan kenaikan tarif penebangan pohon dapat menekan luasan deforestasi di suatu provinsi. Berdasarkan hasil pengujian model, pooled OLS merupakan model yang cocok untuk mengestimasi hubungan antar variabel. Penelitian ini menemukan hasil yang tidak terduga, yaitu peningkatan subsidi hutan meningkatkan luas deforestasi di suatu provinsi. Selain itu, peningkatan pekerja sektor industri-manufaktur mengurangi luas deforestasi di suatu provinsi. Akibat lain yang tidak terduga adalah tarif penebangan pohon yang diharapkan sebagai kebijakan pemerintah pusat untuk mengurangi kawasan yang terdeforestasi, ternyata tidak berdampak pada kawasan yang terdeforestasi di suatu provinsi.

This study investigates the impact of the forest subsidy given to the provincial government on the deforested area. Panel data used to examine whether the forest subsidy and the raise of logging tariff policy can curb the deforested area in the province from 2009 to 2019. Based on the model test result, pooled OLS was the suitable model to estimate the relationship between variables. The study found unexpected result that the increase in forest subsidy increased the deforested area in a province. Whereas the increase in industry-manufacturing sector worker reduced the deforested area in a province. Another unpredictable result was the logging tariff, which is expected as a policy of the central government to reduce deforested areas, did not affect the deforested area in a province. "
