"ABSTRAKPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk menjelaskan proses terbentuknya aktivisme perempuan tani dalam gerakan perlawanan petani lokal terhadap pembangunan pabrik semen dan eksploitasi karst di Pegunungan Karst Kendeng Utara, Jawa Tengah. Tulisan ini berargumen bahwa pengalaman lokal berbasis gender dalam bentuk pengetahuan untuk bertahan hidup dan pengelolaan sumber daya ekonomi dalam rumah tangga membentuk kepentingan berbasis gender yang berpengaruh pada terbentuknya kesadaran kritis mengenai krisis sosial-ekologi yang terjadi di Pegunungan Kendeng Utara. Kesadaran kritis tersebut berperan untuk mendorong perempuan terlibat dan mengartikulasikan kepentingannya melalui gerakan perlawanan. Untuk melihat permasalahan tersebut, penelitian ini menggunakan konsep Politik Ekologi Feminis untuk meninjau dimensi gender dalam gerakan perlawanan petani, dan bagaimana pengalaman lokal berbasis gender membentuk perspektif pengelolaan sumber daya alam yang berbeda antara laki-laki dan perempuan. Identitas organik tersebut dimobilisasi melalui simbol Ibu Bumi yang digunakan untuk melegitimasi gerakan perlawanan mereka. Untuk memahami bagaimana gerakan tolak semen memobilisasi simbol dan narasi untuk mengartikulasikan identitas dan kepentingan mereka, penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan gerakan sosial baru GSB dan struktur kesempatan politik.

ABSTRACTThis study aims to explain the formation of peasant women activism in a collective resistance against the construction of cement factory and karst exploitation in North Kendeng Mountains, Central Java. This paper argues that the resistance is gendered and there are two factor that influences the process the form of local knowledge for survival and economic resource management that shapes critical awareness about socio ecological crisis in North Kendeng Mountains. These awareness encourages peasant women to be involved in and articulate their interests through the resistance movement. This research uses the concept of Feminist Political Ecology to understand the gendered response in social and ecological change, and how gendered local experiences shapes gender differentiated perspective in natural resource management. These organic identities are mobilized through feminine notion of Mother Earth which they uses to legitimise their resistance against environmental destruction. To understand how the movement mobilize symbol and narrative to articulate their identities and interests mdash rather than struggle over social and economic factor mdash this research uses New Social Movement NSM framework and political opportunity structure.
