"Tujuan dari studi ini adalah menentukan koefisien atenuasi dan persamaan atenuasi kecepatan tanah akibat gempabumi lokal di kawasan Bali. Dengan menggunakan metode D.L. Orphal dan dan J. A. Lahoud, diperoleh 6 persamaan atenuasi amplitudo kecepatan tanah untuk 6 stasiun gempabumi di. kawasan Bali. Koefisien atenuasi terkecil 1,028 dan terbesar 1,453.
Persamaan atenuasi amplitude kecepatan tanah untuk 6 stasiun gempa di kawasan Bali adalah:
- KELI : Av  = 3,924  10-2  10 0,1676 M  R ‾1,039
- RANI : Av  = 6,006  10-2  10 0,1901  M  R‾1,028
- INGI : Av  =  1,196  10-1  10 0,1678  M  R -1,190
- JEHI : Av  =  1,509  10-1  10 0,1970  M  R-1,453
- RATI : Av  =  8,331  10-1  10 0,0846  M  R -1,324
- THRI : Av  =  1,491  10-1  10 0,1527  M  R -1,195
Dimana Av, M dan R masing-masing rnerupakan Amplitude kecepatan tanah C cm/det 7, Magnitude Lokal C Skala Richter 7 dan Jarak hiposenter gempa ke stasiun pencatat C km 7.
Dari persamaan - persamaan atenuasi tersebut diharapkan dapat membantu kepentingan Teknik Kegempaan atau Teknik Sipil dalam perencanaan dan pengembangan bangunan tahan gempa.

The purpose of this study is to determine the attenuation coefficient and its equation of ground velocity caused by local earthquakes in Bali region. Using the method of Orphal-Lahoud, the six attenuation equations of ground velocity were determined from six earthquake's networks in Bali region. The attenuation coefficient was found in the range of 1.028 up to 1.453.
The equations of attenuation from six earthquake's networks in Hall region are as follow
- KELI : Av  =  3,924  10-2  10 0,1676  M  R ‾1,039
- RANI : Av  =  6,006  10-2  10 0,1901  M  R‾1,028
- INGI : Av  =  1,196  10-1  10 0,1678  M  R -1,190

- RATI : Av  =  8,331  10-1  10 0,0846  M  R -1,324
- THRI : Av  =  1,491  10-1  10 0,1527  M  R -1,195
where Av, M and R are respectively amplitude of velocity C in centimeters per second ), the local magnitude and focal distance C in kilometers ).
The six attenuation equations of ground velocity amplitude were needed for earthquake analysis or civil engineering."
