"Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memberi gambaran atas positif atau negatifnya persepsi responden terhadap organisasi pustakawan IPI. Pustakawan yang dijadikan populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah pustakawan Pegawai Negeri Sipil (PNS} yang bekerja di Perpustakaan Nasional R.I., Perpustakaan Umum, Perpustakaan Perguruan Tinggi, dan Perpustakaan Instansi atau Khusus wilayah DKI-Jakarta. Populasi pustakawan tersebut betjumlah 613 orang. Karena keterbatasan dana dan waktu, jumlah sampel ditetapkan sebanyak 40 responden. Jumlah tersebut telah memenuhi persyaratan sampel untuk suatu penelitian karena telah melebihi batas minimum unit analisis suatu penelitian. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan survai. Penelitian ini membahas tiga variabel utama yakni peugenalan responden terhadap organisasi IPI, persepsi dan harapan responden terhadap keanggotaan organisasi, dan persepsi dan harapan responden terbadap peran IPI dalam meningk.atkan profesionalisme pustakawan Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode angket atau kuesioner yang terlebih dahulu telah diujicobakan kepada l0 responden di luar sampeL Di samping itu digunakan juga metode wawancara sebagai alat pengumpul data tambahan. Wawancara singkat dilakukan kepada 8 responden yang tidak melengkapi pengisian angket. Hasil penelitian mengenai variabel pengenalan responden terhadap organisasi IP1 dapat dikatakan cukup tinggi atau positif, sebab 85% dari responden adalah anggota IPI yang tentunya mengenal keberadaan IPI sebagai organisasi profesi pustakawan. Rincian dari 40 respanden untuk 16 butir pemyataan adalab 2381. Skor tersebut berada pada polar persepsi positif. yaitu antara 2177-3200. Mengenai variabel persepsi dan harapan responden terhadap peran IPI dalam meningkatkan profesionalisme pustakawan Indonesia juga ditanggapi positif oleh 40 respanden. Jumlah skor yang dikumpulkan untuk 40 responden dari 10 pernyataan adalah 1570. Skor tersebut berada pada polar persepsi positif, yaitu 1360 - 2000.
......The purpose of this research is to find out whether the perception of the librarian toward organization IPI is positive or negative. The population of the research is librarians who work at the National Library of Indonesia, Public Library, University Library, and Institution or Special Library, located in DKI-Jakarta. The result of document and field survey shows that number of librarians who meet the above criteria is 613. The sample of this research is determined 40 respondents, a little more than number required for the minimum analysis unit. The research is a descriptive one with a survey approach. The discussion includes three main variables, namely: 1) knowledge of the respondents about the IPI organization, 2) perception and expectation of the respondents toward and from the membership of IPI, and 3) perception and expectation of the respondents toward and from the role of IPI in increasing the profesionalism of Indonesian librarians. The first step taken was to carry out document observation and field survey. The second step was to select the respondents out of the population using simple random sampling method. The third step was to give the questionnaires and short interview to the respondents out of the population. The questionnaires had been tested to 10 respondents beyond the real sample. The short interview is he1d to 8 respondents. The data from the questionaires and short interviews are described in the form of tables and naration. The knowledge of the respondents about the IPI is turns out almost exellent. Eightyfive percent are member of the IPI; 62,50% understand the purposes of the IPI, 25% ever participated in the organization arrangement, 75% participated in the activities carried out by IPI, and just once only 15% which often (more than 5 times) participated in the IPI activities."

"Penelitian ini membahas mengenai bagaimana konsep, proses penyusunan dan juga proses penerapan dari kode etik Ikatan Pustakawan Indonesia (IPI). Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memahami bagaimana konsep dari etika profesi dipahami oleh para pengurus IPI, bagaimana proses penyusunan dari kode etik IPI, dan bagaimana penerapan dari kode etik IPI. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode analisis studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa etika profesi dipahami sebagai pedoman yang digunakan sebagai pegangan dari sebuah profesi yang harus diikuti oleh anggotanya, sehingga dapat bekerja secara profesional, bertanggung jawab dan dapat memenuhi tujuan-tujuan dari sebuah profesi. Selain itu didapatkan juga hasil penelitian tentang proses penyusunan kode etik IPI yang dilakukan melalui proses yang panjang. Untuk proses penerapan dari kode etik tersebut, IPI juga telah melakukan beberapa tindakan, diantaranya adalah menerbitkan AD dan ART serta Kode Etik IPI dan juga mengadakan seminar-seminar di seluruh wilayah Indonesia.

This focus of this research is about how the concept, the process of making and implementation process of the professional code of ethics by Ikatan Pustakawan Indonesia (IPI). The purpose of this research is to understand how the concept of professional ethics were arrested by the IPI committee, how the process of making of the code of ethics IPI, and how the application of the code of ethics IPI. This research used a qualitative approach with case study analysis method. The results of these studies show that professional ethics is understood as the guidelines used as a handle of a profession that must be followed by its members, so it can work in a professional, responsible and able to meet the goals of a profession. In addition it also obtained the results of research on the process of drafting the code of ethics IPI is done through a long process. To process the implementation of the code of ethics, the IPI also has conducted several actions, including issuing of AD and ART as well as the Code of Ethics IPI and also conducted seminars in many parts of Indonesia."

"Librarian as the guardian of knowledge is a dynamic profession in management information and service analysis. Librarian face a dynamically changing environment, including globalization and economic liberalization as well as information and communication technology. human resources between countries becomes a necessity, it means indonesia will be filled by foreign workers, as well as librarians. Indonesia librarians are in a dilemma, between global competition and professional dedication as a bureaucrat. Therefore, the indonesian librarians should be the host. The key is professionalism, integrity, and competence. IPI as librarianship organization should became the initiator and catalyst in responding to environmental changes, such as the development of science and technology, decentralization, reform, and the economic of ASEAN integration (MEA 2015). furthermore, IPI must be a leading sector of professional librarianship organization, independent, and based on the entrepreneurial leadership. The national strategy that must be done is strengthening partnerships, consolidation and cooperation of professional organizations; strengthening quality of human resources in the library; increasing equality and welfare of librarians; strengthening development facilities of librarian standards in indonesia; strengthening development facilities of librarian standards in indonesia; strengthening professional leadership"
