"Akuisisi atau pembelian aset perusahaan yang dilakukan oleh PT. 'XYZ' terhadap PT. 'ABC' menuntut penanganan yang baik agar prosesnya dapat berjalan dengan lancar. Salah satu hal yang harus ditangani adalah fungsi SDM. Dalam hal ini, PT. 'XYZ' ingin agar aset yang ada pada SDM, yang berupa skill, knowledge dan ability dan karyawan perusahaan yang telah di akuisisi dapat dimanfaatkan dengan baik.
Penulis mengajukan proposal untuk mengakomodasi kebutuhan akan penanganan SDM akibat akuisisi tersebut. Dan sebagai langkah awal, penulis melakukan analisa dengan menggunakan "7-S" McKinsey.
Dari hasil analisa terhadap PT. 'X", terlihat ada 3 (tiga) komponen organisasi yang bermasalah sehubungan dengan proses akuisisi yang terjadi, yaitu masalah pada komponen Staff yang makin bertambah banyak dengan adanya penggabungan karyawan PT. 'ABC' dengan PT. 'XYZ', kesenjangan (gap) pada komponen Skill Bari eks-karyawan PT. 'ABC' dengan tuntutan pekerjaan di PT. 'XYZ' serta adanya komponen Shared Value yang agak berbeda dalam penanganan pelanggan.
Ketiga masalah diatas membuat penulis mengajukan 3 (tiga) program intervensi. Yang pertama adalah melakukan program seleksi untuk memilih karyawan yang sesuai, dalam artian memiliki knowledge, skill dan attitude yang sesuai dengan tuntutan jabatan. Seleksi ini dilakukan karena PT. 'XYZ' hanya mungkin untuk menampung 30 % dari total karyawan PT. 'ABC'. Selain itu, mereka juga menginginkan hanya karyawan yang memenuhi persyaratan jabatan saja yang dapat bergabung. Sementara yang tidak memenuhi akan dilakukan program terminasi yang merupakan program intervensi kedua. Selanjutnya, karyawan PT. 'ABC' yang diterima bergabung dengan PT. 'XYZ' diberikan program orientasi dengan tujuan untuk membantu karyawan yang baru bergabung agar lebih mudah beradaptasi dengan rekan kerja, alur serta sistem kerja yang berlaku di PT. 'XYZ'.
Dengan intervensi diatas, diharapkan proses penanganan SDM, terutama dalam pengalihan aset berupa skill, knowledge, dan attitude dari karyawan PT. 'ABC' yang sudah diakuisisi oleh PT. 'XYZ' dapat berjalan dengan lancar."
