"Penelitian ini secara umum bertujuan memberikan outline bagi pengembangan studi pencegahan kejahatan dengan cara yang lebih terintegrasi. Selanjutnya, secara khusus penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan jawaban ilmiah pada tantangan fenomena kejahatan berkelanjutan di wilayah perkotaan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan mixed method sequential, dimana pendekatan kuantitatif akan diikuti oleh pendekatan kualitatif yang akan menjawab pertanyaan penelitian. Sebagai tambahan dalam pengembangan kajian studi pencegahan kejahatan, maka sebagai pendekatan teoretis peneliti memanfaatkan pemikiran mengenai konsep ruang dari Lefebvre dan teori strukturasi dari Giddens.Penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa diperlukan suatu pendekatan holistik dalam studi pengendalian dan pencegahan kejahatan untuk dapat menganalisa masalah kejahatan berkelanjutan di ruang publik perkotaan. Keadaan Existing condition yang terungkap dalam penelitian ini menuntun kepada pembentukan model integratif pencegahan kejahatan, yang digambarkan baik dalam model Systems Thinking maupun model Matrix. Penelitian ini di satu pihak mengungkap kelemahan dari teori-teori yang masih berada dalam tataran disinitegratif pada bidang pencegahan kejahatan yang telah menghasilkan model pengamanan ruang publik yang tidak sesuai dengan kebutuhan masyarakat. Seperti terungkapnya keadaan (1) parsialitas dalam pendelegasian wewenang dalam isu keamanan (2) fenomena Vertical Crossed Domain (3) adanya model pengamanan yang berbasis tanggung jawab kepemilikan yang ternyata tidak efektif dan (4) tidak terkontrolnya keamanan dalam lokus yang saling bersinggungan. Dari hasil penelitian juga diungkap beberapa struktur penyebab fenomena kejahatan berkelanjutan dalam pandangan Systems Thinking, yang diantaranya adalah struktur kejahatan berkelanjutan aktual, struktur pola pikir disintegratif dalam pencegahan kejahatan dan Matrix Existing Condition berdasarkan Lefebvre-Giddens.Penelitian ini pada akhirnya melahirkan sebuah model solusi atas kelemahan pencegahan kejahatan di ruang publik perkotaan, dari pendekatan sebelumnya, yaitu (a) Matrix Solusi Integratif berdasarkan Lefebvre ? Giddens, (b) Struktur Pola Pikir Integratif berdasarkan Wolstenholme, dan (c) Rekomendasi Kebijakan Terintegrasi, yang memungkinkan kelenturan aspek-aspek pencegahan kejahatan bereaksi terhadap ancaman kejahatan.

In general, the study aims to give an outline through a more integrated method in the development of crime prevention. In particular, to provide a scientific response to the challenging phenomenon of crimes persistence in urban areas. This study takes the mixed method sequential approach i.e. the quantitative approach is followed by a qualitative approach in response to the questions of the study. In addition, as a theoretical approach, the study makes use of Lefebvre's concept of space and Giddens theory of structure.This study demonstrates that a holistic approach is needed in the prevention and control of crimes to enable the analysis of persisting crimes in urban public areas. The revealing situation of the existing condition in this study leads to the formulation of the integrated model of crime prevention, as illustrated in the models of Systems Systems and Matrix.On the one hand the study discloses the weaknesses in the theories that maintains in the level of disintegrated crime prevention, and results in the model of public area security to the disagreement of public needs. This condition is revealed in the: (1) partiality related to the delegation of authority in security issues, (2) phenomenon of Vertical Crossed Domain, (3) the presence of ineffective security based on responsibility ownership, and (4) uncontrolled overlapping security. This study also reveals some structures in the causes of persisting crimes from the view of Systems Thinking, e.g. the structure of actual crime persistance, the disintegrated pattern of thinking to crime prevention, and Lefebvre-Giddens Existing Condition Matrix.Eventually, the study delivers a solution model for the weaknesses of crime prevention in urban areas from the previous approach, namely, (a) Integrated Matrix Solution from Lefebvre-Giddens, (b) Integrated Pattern of Thinking from Wolsterholme, and (c) Integrated Policy Recommendation, enabling the flexibility of crime prevention aspects to react on threats of crime."
