"Streaming internet telah berkembang menjadi hambatan yang besar untuk televisi kabel dalam mendapatkan kesuksesan yang lebih di Amerika Serikat. Terlepas dari segalanya, hak kekayaan intelektual memainkan peran penting dalam isu tersebut. Maka, maksud dari tulisan ini adalah untuk menginvestigasi korelasi antara televisi kabel dan streaming internet dari perspektif hak kekayaan intelektual di Amerika Serikat. Tulisan ini memakai tinjauan pustaka untuk membantu tulisan ini meraih tujuannya. Kesimpulannya, streaming internet memberikan dampak yang sangat besar untuk televisi kabel dalam segi konsumer, perkembangan, dan popularitas di Amerika Serikat. Hak kekayaan intelektual di Amerika Serikat mempunyai otoritas untuk memberikan hak dan untuk itu, melindungi pemilik hak, yang masih memiliki beberapa kelemahan untuk siapa hak itu dimiliki. Ini menandakan bahwa hak kekayaan intelektual mengenai industry televisi, terutama hak cipta, di Amerika Serikat perlu untuk lebih spesifik dalam regulasinya dan menyesuaikan isinya agar lebih pas untuk situasi yang berbeda.

Internet streaming has turned into a major obstacle for cable television to reach a greater success in the United States. In spite of all that, intellectual property rights play a key role in the issue. Consequently, the purpose of this study is to investigate the correlation of cable television and internet streaming from a perspective of intellectual property rights in the United States. This study uses literature review to help achieve the purpose of this study. In conclusion, internet streaming made a huge impact on cable television in terms of consumers, growth, and popularity in the United States. The intellectual property rights in the United States have the authority to give rights and thus, protect the right owners, which still has some weaknesses on whom do the rights belong to. This indicates that the intellectual property rights regarding the television industry, especially the copyright, in the United States have to be more specific on the regulation and adjust the content to be more fitting to the different situation."

"Skripsi ini membahas membahas tentang analisis terhadap legalitas dari Interner Streaming karya musik pada tempat komersil. Undang-Undang Nomor 28 Tahun 2014 meliputi karya musik sebagai salah satu ciptaan yang dilindugi, dan memberikan segenap hak ekonomi kepada pemegang hak cipta dan hak terkait dari karya musik tersebut. Karena Undang-Undang Hak Cipta tidak mengatur tentang aktivitas Internet streaming, akan ada penjelasan terhadap pengertian aktivitas tersebut dan hak konomi manakah yang sesuai untuk mencakupi aktivitas Internet streaming juga akan dibahas dalam skripsi ini. Tiga hak ekonomi yaitu hak pengumuman, hak ekonomi, dan hak penyiaran adalah beberapa hak ekonomi yang paling sesuai untuk meliputi aktivitas tersebut, dengan demikian skripsi ini juga akan memberikan pemahaman lebih lanjut dan batasan antara ketiga hak ekonomi dengan mempertimbangkan peraturan-peraturan internasional yang terkait.

This undergraduate thesis discussed the legality of Internet streaming of musical works at commercial venue. Indonesian Copyright Law Number 28 Year 2014 includes musical work as a protected work, and thus grants economic rights to both copyright holder and related right holder of a musical work. Since the Indonesian Copyright law does not regulate on the conduct of Internet streaming, an elaboration on the understanding of such conduct and which economic does Internet streaming shall be classified into shall be discussed under this thesis. Three economic rights namely the right of announcement, communication, and broadcasting of works are the most suitable to cover the conduct of Internet streaming, and thus, are thoroughly discussed under this thesis. Due to the lack of explanation given by Indonesian Copyright Law, it results in several confusions on the understanding of the three economic rights. Consequently, this thesis also provides further understanding and clear boundaries of all three economic rights by considering relevant international instruments in the realm of copyrights"
