"Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang fenomena alih kode dan campur kode antara bahasa Belanda dan Italia yang terdapat dalam komik Suske en Wiske: De Tartaarse Helm. Komik ini merupakan karya komikus terkenal asal Belgia, yaitu Willy Vandersteen. Kisahnya menceritakan tentang petualangan Suske, Wiske, dan Lambik pada abad ke-13 di Belgia, Italia, dan negara-negara di Timur Tengah. Fokus penelitian ini terletak pada jenis dan faktor penyebab terjadinya peralihan kode. Ada pula tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk memaparkan secara rinci mengenai fenomena alih kode dan campur kode yang terdapat dalam komik tersebut. Dengan menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif, penelitian ini dilakukan berdasarkan teori yang berkaitan dengan alih- dan campur kode dari Appel dan Muysken untuk menganalisis jenis peralihan kode. Teori yang dikemukakan oleh Holmes dan Nilson juga digunakan untuk menelaah faktor penyebab dari peralihan kode tersebut. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis peralihan kode yang paling banyak muncul adalah intra-sentential switches. Sementara itu, faktor penyebabnya didominasi oleh faktor identitas dan solidaritas.

This paper explains the phenomenon of code switching and code mixing between Dutch and Italian in the comic Suske en Wiske: De Tartaarse Helm. This comic is the work of a popular comic artist from Belgium, Willy Vandersteen. This comic tells the adventure of Suske, Wiske, and Lambik in the 13th century in Belgium, Italy and several countries in the Middle East. The focus of this paper lies in the types and factors behind code switching and code mixing. Furthermore, the purpose of this study is to describe in detail the phenomenon of code switching and code mixing contained in the comic. By using a qualitative descriptive method, this research was conducted based on the theory related to code switching and code mixing of Appel and Muysken to analyze the type of code switching. The theory proposed by Holmes and Nilson is also used to analyze the causative factors. The results of this paper indicate that the most common type of code switching is intra-sentential switches. In addition, the causative factor is dominated by the identity and solidarity factor."
