"Penelitian ini membahas idiom yang terdapat dalam serial Netflix Kitz (2021). Tidak sepenuhnya idiom di serial ini tercantum dalam kamus Duden 11. Penelitian ini berfokus pada makna dan fungsi pragmatis apa saja yang terkandung dalam idiom serial Kitz. Penelitian dilakukan dengan pendekatan semantik untuk menganalisis makna leksikal dan fraseologis idiomnya. Teori Fleischer (1982) dan teori tindak tutur Searle (2005) turut digunakan untuk menganalisis fungsi pragmatis idiom yang dikaitkan dengan konteks ketika tuturannya terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dari 22 idiom yang ditemukan dalam serial, 14 di antaranya tercantum dalam kamus Duden 11, sedangkan 8 lainnya tidak tercantum, tetapi dapat ditemukan dalam kamus idiom bahasa Jerman yang lain. Selain itu, ke-22 idiom tersebut memenuhi tiga klasifikasi fungsi pragmatis menurut Fleischer, yaitu 11 idiom berfungsi untuk menunjukkan hubungan sosial di antara penutur, 7 idiom untuk menunjukkan emosi penutur, dan 4 idiom untuk mendukung argumen.

This study discusses idioms in the Netflix’s series Kitz (2021). Not all the idioms in this series are listed in Duden 11 dictionary. This study focuses on the meanings and pragmatic functions contained in idioms of the Kitz series. The study was conducted with a semantic approach to analyze the lexical and phraseological meaning of the idiom. Theory by Fleischer (1982) and theory of speech act by Searle (2005) were also used to analyze the pragmatic function of idioms associated with the context in which the speech occurred. The results showed that of the 22 idioms found in the series, 14 of them were listed in the Duden 11 dictionary, while the other eight were not listed but could be found in other German idiom dictionaries. In addition, the 22 idioms fulfill three classifications of pragmatic functions according to Fleischer, namely 11 idioms to show social relations between speakers, 7 idioms to show the speaker’s emotions, and 4 idioms to support arguments."

"Place has certain connotations that are involved in shaping the identity of an individual or a community. Due to the importance of place or location in identity formation, Cultural Studies has its own area of analysis focusing on the understanding of place, which is cultural geography. Peter Jackson (1989: 23, quoted by Giles and Middleton 1999: 104) defines cultural geography as a study on how cultures are constituted by social practises occurring in certain contexts which are influenced by historical and geographical factors. The discussion of artistic works centred on the role of place in identity formation becomes an interesting analysis. This research focuses on Rudi Soejarwo?s film Mendadak Dangdut ('Suddenly Dangdut'). The film?s setting is a densely populated district in Jakarta. As the plot centres around this setting, an analysis of how place influences the identity formation of the film?s main character becomes significant. The research is made using approaches in cultural geography, along with two key concepts in Cultural Studies, which are identity and representation. It is aimed at finding a new consciousness as to how urban context, especially that related to an understanding of place, takes part in the formation of identity of individuals and communities."
