Abstrak :
This open access book summarizes the results of the European research project Twin-model based virtual manufacturing for machine tool-process simulation and control (Twin-Control). The first part reviews the applications of ICTs in machine tools and manufacturing, from a scientific and industrial point of view, and introduces the Twin-Control approach, while Part 2 discusses the development of a digital twin of machine tools. The third part addresses the monitoring and data management infrastructure of machines and manufacturing processes and numerous applications of energy monitoring. Part 4 then highlights various features developed in the project by combining the developments covered in Parts 3 and 4 to control the manufacturing processes applying the so-called CPSs. Lastly, Part 5 presents a complete validation of Twin-Control features in two key industrial sectors: aerospace and automotive. The book offers a representative overview of the latest trends in the manufacturing industry, with a focus on machine tools.

Proses manufaktur memerlukan fungsi CAM yang dapat berinteraksi antara mesin dan computer, dimana visualisasi dari bentuk benda diperoleh dari software CAD . Dalam prosesnya dari sistem CAD memerlukan metode penghubung yaitu CAM agar mesin dapat berfungsi. Contohnya adalah mesin CNC (Computer Numerical Controlled). Perkembangan hingga saat ini sudah sampai tahap pemesinan 5 axis. Salah satu bagian penting dan harus ada dalam sebuah sistem CAM adalah pendeteksian dan penghindaran interferensi (gouging) antara pahat dengan model. Dalam penelitian ini, diimplementasikan metode pendeteksian dan penghindaran interferensi untuk pemesinan 5 axis. Banyak metode yang berkembang guna penyempurnaan 5-wris machining. Dan penelitian ini dikhususkan hanya pada kasus lekukan surface yang diindentifikasi sebagai ruang terbatas. Dalam pemesinan 5 axis, vektor orientasi mata pahat yang bergerak sepanjang lintasan pada sebuah material tidak hanya berposisi tegak sejajar sumbu z, namun vektor orientasi pahat sesuai dengan vektor normal titik dimana pahat bisa melakukan inklinasi pada kasus pemakanan bidang Iengkung (non planar) yang dimaksud dan mendeteksi bidang terbatas tertutup. Penelitian Iebih difokuskan bagaimana cara pahat untuk mendeteksi alur yang melengkung tersebut dan berinklinasi sesuai dengan bidang ye makanannya.
Process of Manufacture needs CAM interaction function able to between and machine of computer, where visualization of object form obtained from CAD software. In course of him of system of CAD need link method that is CAM so that machine can function. The example is machine of CNC (Computer Numerical Control). Growth till in this time has until phase of machining 5 axes, One part of the important and there must be in a CAM system is detection and evasion of interference ( gouging) between chisel with model In this research, detection method implementation and evasion of interference for machining 5 axis. Much method expanding to utilize completion 5-axis machining. And this research is majored only at hollowing case of surface which identification as volume bounded. In machining 5 axis, vector orient peripatetic chisel eye as long as trajectory at a material do not only have parallel straightening position of z tinder, but orientation vector chisel as according to normal vector of dot where chisel can conduct inclination at tortuous area accrue case ( such non-planar) and detect area of closed bounded volume. Research more focused how to chisel to detect the tortuous path and inclination as according to it's accrue area.

Karena peningkatan yang luar biasa dari kemampuan produksi dan globalisasi ekonomi, lingkungan manufaktur saat ini semakin bergejolak dan tidak dapat ditebak. Lingkungan manufaktur memiliki dampak yang besar pada kinerja sistem manufaktur. Hal ini menimbulkan sebuah fenomena yang dikenal sebagai Mass Customization. Dengan adanya fenomena ini diperlukan sebuah sistem manufaktur yang dapat dengan cepat dan ekonomis menyesuaikan fungsi dan kapasitasnya dengan perubahan permintaan yang ada di pasar. Hal ini dapat dipenuhi oleh Reconfigurable Manufacturing System yang didukung oleh Reconfigurable Machine Tools yang memiliki enam karakteristik yaitu modularity, scalability, integrability, customization, convertibility, dan diagnosability. Sebagai tulang punggung dari RMS, RMT harus memiliki keenam karakteristik tersebut. Untuk memastikan desain RMT memiliki enam karakteristik tersebut pada penelitian ini dilakukan perancangan Framewrok untuk proses desain RMT.
The tremendous increase of the production capacity and economic globalization, the current manufacturing environment is increasingly volatile and cannot be guessed. The manufacturing environment has a major impact on the performance of the manufacturing system. This gives rise to a phenomenon known as Mass Customization. The existence of this phenomenon required a manufacturing system that can be quickly and economically adjusted in functions and capacity according to a change in the market. This can be met by a Reconfigurable Manufacturing System that is powered by Reconfigurable Machine Tools, which have six characteristics: modularity, integrability, customization, scalability, convertibility, and diagnosability. As the backbone of the RMS, the RMT must have such six characteristics. To ensure that the design of the RMT has six characteristics, this research is designing a Framewrok for RMT design process.
