"Adaptasi film ke dalam novel atau sebaliknya seialu menimbulkan perubahan, sebagai akibat dari perbedaan media dan hasil interpretasi penulis dan sutradara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperlihatkan sejumlah persamaan dan perbedaan mendasar yang dihasilkan oleh adaptasi dari film ke dalam novel Biala Tak Berdawai, dilihat dari unsurunsur penceritaan.Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan strukturalisme yang memfokuskan pada unsur-unsur intrinsik yang terdapat dalam film dan novel Biola Tak Berdawai. Unsur-unsur film dan novel yang dianalisis dan dibandingkan dalam penelitian ini adalah alur penyajian, alur sebab akibat, tokoh dan penokohan, latar ruang dan Tatar waktu.Hasil analisis film dan novel Biola Tak Berdawai terhadap unsurunsur di atas, menunjukkan persamaan sekaligus perbedaan. Cerita dalam film dan novel pada dasarnya sama tetapi menjadi terkesan berbeda ketika Dewa dijadikan penutur di dalam novel. Tokoh Dewa menjadi serba tahu dan mampu menuturkan dengan fasih mengenai kejadian-kejadian yang ada di sekelilingnya, padahal di dalam film, tokoh Dewa digambarkan sebagai anak yang sangat sulit untuk berkomunikasi dengan prang fain dikarenakan penyakit autis dan cacat ganda. Dengan demikian, tokoh utama di dalam novel tidak hanya Renjani, tetapi juga Dewa. Perbedaan Iainnya terletak pada berupa kemunculan cerita pewayangan di dalam novel, juga terdapat penghilangan, dan penambahan beberapa cerita. Semua perbedaan tersebut menunjukkan adanya perbedaan interpretasi penulis novel atas cerita film Biola Tak Berdawai.Berbeda dengan unsur alur penyajian, alur sebab akibat antara film dan novel tidak menunjukkan perbedaan. Dad awal hingga akhir cerita, novel adaptasi tetap bersetia terhadap film sebagai cerita pertama. Begitu juga dengan latar ruang dan waktu.

The adaptation of film into novel or vice verse always produces changes as the consequence of the different media and the result of the actor and the director's interpretation. This study aims to present some basic similarities and differences which are produced by the adaptation from film into novel Biola Talc Berdawai, and viewed from the story elements.

The method used is structuralism, focusing on the intrinsic elements in film and novel Biota Tak Berdawai. The film and novel elements which are analyzed and compared in this study are plot, the characters and characterization, and setting.

The result of the analysis of film and novel Biola Tak Berdawai to the mentioned elements presents similarities and differences at the same time. The story in film and novel is basically the same but it imprisons different when Dewa is made as a narrator in the novel. The character of Dewa knows everything and he can utter fluently what happens in his surrounding, whereas in film the character of Dewa is showed as the boy who has difficulty to communicating with other people because he is autistic and has double deformity. So the main character in the novel is not only Renjani but also Dewa. The other difference is on the presence of things pertaining to the wayang story in the novel. All those differences present the difference of the writer's interpretation on the story of Biota Tak Berdawai film.

It is different to plot presence, the cause and effect plot between film and novel does not present the difference. From the beginning until the end of story, adapted novel keep loyal to film as the original story. It also happens to the setting of place and time."

"Penelitian ini berangkat dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana film sebagai salah satu produk kesenian dapat juga digunakan untuk merepresentasikan realita sosial yang ada di masyarakat. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif untuk mengulas konten film Tanda Tanya sebagai salah satu film yang merepresentasikan kehidupan keberagamaan di Indonesia. Dalam konteks penelitian ini, aspek utama yang dinilai adalah konten film secara struktural yaitu aktor-aktor membentuk suatu relasi yang digambarkan melalui dialog, adegan, dan alur cerita dalam film. Relasi yang terjalin antar aktor menciptkan struktur sosial yang mendefinisikan diri mereka pada kelompok-kelompok tertentu. Misalnya dalam film Tanda Tanya ada kelompokkelompok agama yang sifatnya puritan maupun sinkretis. Struktur sosial yang terbentuk dalam film mencerminkan realita yang ada di masyarakat. Selain aspek diatas beberapa aspek penting lainnya yang dianggap berpengaruh terhadap film sebagai representasi sosial adalah aspek kultural. Aspek kultural yang ditunjukan ke dalam bentuk penanaman nilai-nilai atau ideologi Sutradara ke dalam kreasi film. Penanaman nilai-nilai tersebut mempunyai motivasi untuk menggambarkan situasi ideal di masyarakat atau dapat juga digunakan sebagai ekspektasi Sutradara terhadap suatu konteks sosial masyarakat tertentu. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa film Tanda Tanya berhasil mengubah suatu produk seni menjadi karya ilmiah melalui kacamata sosiologi dengan memotret kehidupan keberagamaan yang ada di Indonesia. Kehidupan keberagamaan tersebut dicerminkan melalui sikap pluralisme antar anggota kelompok agama tertentu terhadap kelompok agama lainnya. Adegan interaksi antar anggota kelompok agama satu dengan yang lainnya diambil melalui beberapa kasus yang terjadi dalam realita sosial di masyarakat sehingga dengan begitu film Tanda Tanya adalah salah satu dari sedikit film di Indonesia yang menggambarkan proses kehidupan keberagamaan yang sebelumnya toleran namun karena adanya factor-faktor eksternal menciptkan konflik-konflik sesuai dengan realita sosial di masyarakat.

This study aims to learn how far a movie, as an artistic product, is used to represent reality in the social world. This study employs qualitative approach to cover contents in ?Tanda Tanya? as a movie representing religious life of the Indonesian people. In the context of this study, the main aspect considered is the structural contents, which is relations shaped by the actors through dialogues, scenes, and story plots of the movie. Bonded relations among actors create social structures that define themselves into certain groups. For instance, in the movie, there were several religious groups of puritan and syncretism. Social structures formed in the movie reflect reality in the society.

Besides the aspects above, another relevant aspect also influenced the social representation in the movie, which is the cultural aspect. Culture is represented by the director's values and ideologies incorporated into his creation. Such values motivated to illustrate the ideal situation in the society or could be used as the director?s expectations on a certain social context.

The results to this study shows that the movie ?Tanda Tanya? succeeded in shifting an artistic product into a scientific product, using sociological view to snap the religious life in Indonesia. The religious life is reflected through the state of pluralism between members of a certain religious group and other religious groups. The scene where interactions between one religious group to another was taken from many cases which happened in the social reality. Thus, the movie is one of many Indonesian movie illustrating the process of religious lives, which was previously tolerant but then various external factors created conflicts, just as in the social reality."
