This research focused on the image of Islam constructed by Japanese mass media and its impacts on Muslim community's integration into the Japanese society in recent years. I tried to look into the negative image of Islam 'constructed' by Japan's mass media, and its impact on the Muslims (mostly foreigners) residing in Japan, either as a worker or as spouse of a Japanese national. I have conducted in-depth interviews with 5 muslims (4 foreigners and 1 native muslims) residing in Kobe, Kyoto, and Tokyo. Their stories then compared with articles on muslim and Islam published in Japan's mass media, as well as books and academic journals on similar topics. This research used multiculturalism and mass media social construction as analyzing tools. Interview started from April 18th until May 7th 2018, by using e-mails and LINE aplication. Through analysis, I have come to a conclusion that through learning and befriending the muslims, some Japanese are in fact turned from previously scared of the muslims into helping and even supporting them. Moreover, in preparation for the coming Tokyo Olympic Games in 2020, the government is taking initiatives to create social condition and atmosphere which is more friendly toward foreigners, including muslim foreigners."

"The political discourse in India experienced a fundamental shift when the Sachar Committee Report revealed that despite the national and state governments minority development policies and programmes, the Muslim community was among the most deprived and backward, worse off than the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, in most of the outcome indicators. Many new pro-poor and inclusive policies were introduced as a response to the recommendations of the report. This book makes a critical assessment of the impact of post-Sachar policies, bridging the gaps in empirical measurements and analytical documentation, and making them accessible to the public at large. The book recommends policies and institutions required for ensuring the constitutional right to equal opportunity for all Indian citizens, especially minorities, such as setting up of an Equal Opportunity Commission and systematically computing a diversity index to improve the process of assimilation of the deprived groups, including the minorities, into the national mainstream.

"The purpose of this study is to evaluate performance and volatility of Islamic and conventional
stock indices along with their determinant factor variables in Indonesia. The study adopts: (1) Capital
Asset Pricing Model (CAPM) to compare the performance of the Jakarta Islamic Index (JII) to
represent Islamic index and LQ45 to represent the conventional, (2) beta calculation to measure
volatility, and (3) Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) to capture the determinants and the reason
behind the outperformance. The data coverage is from January 2006 to November 2015. The study
finds that: (1) There is no significant difference on performance between JII and LQ45, (2) JII is less
volatile than LQ45, except in 2010, and (3) JII performance is less affected by external factorsexcept
for crude oil price. Moreover, the result implies challenge for the authorities to educate society, particularly
whom concern to shari?ah principles, with information that Islamic index performance is
not much difference from conventional index and less volatile."
